My 6 year old and I moved here recently and I'm wondering about going door to door tonight for trick or treating! We've gone to a few trunk or treat events and while those were fun, I want her to have the door to door experience like I did as a kid. We live close to the Horace Mann Elementary School, so I was hoping there are houses around that area that participate. I've seen a lot of posts about bigger neighborhoods doing things but she isn't really keen on large crowds, so something smaller would actually work best. Any help/input would be great. TIA!
Horace Mann teachers are charged with battery after slapping, spanking and shaking non-verbal students. One student wasn’t allowed to use the restroom and eventually urinated on himself. Some of the abuse is on camera.

Hi all,
My family (me, husband, and 18m toddler) is thinking about moving to the Horace Mann neighborhood and I was wondering if anyone could share their thoughts on it. We currently live in Sunnyvale and we're looking for a bigger/nicer house with better walkability, a more "cosmopolitan" lifestyle, and the possibility of sticking around for a good while (i.e., into school years). Obviously we're also trying to be mindful of things like safety, school quality, and general kid-friendliness.
We've found a great house and we've toured the neighborhood, but we know nothing about San Jose (it was our first time visiting the area today) and we're trying to get a sense of whether it would be a good place to raise a family. Sunnyvale is very safe and kid-friendly (lots of playgrounds, families, etc) but we haven't loved living here. We've found it to be nice, but sleepy/boring, expensive, and lacking in terms of culture, school options, and housing.
I'd really appreciate any thoughts you might have!
I'm going into 9th grade next year, so I am applying to high schools. I live in NYC, so two of the high schools I'm considering are Horace Mann and Dalton. One of the main reasons these appealed to me is because of their great MUN programs. I didn't realize until finding this subreddit that they have such bad reputations. So here's my question: They're both great schools academically, but from purely a MUN perspective is their reputation so bad people will not want to work with me, and I won't be able to win? I don't want to go and then never get to enjoy MUN because of my school's bad reputation.
To rephrase it wasn’t just me who explored the school. Me and my boyfriend went along with 3 of our friends to this place. Pictures were taken at around midnight. (March 4th) The last photo (with what I assume is something evil) was taken at exactly 12:12 am which I kinda thought was funny as it’s just the number 6 stacked.
Haunted photo was taken in the gym. Walking in there felt really off, it definitely had a different vibe than the rest of the building. It was really wet and mildewed from weathering more than the rest of the place. Books were tossed everywhere in the center floor. We were on the balcony and the group was just being wild and having fun, looking at the piles of National Geographic’s from the 90s. I would get really bad vibes when they’d toss the books into the center as if something was getting angrier when we did. Now I see, something definitely was! Lol. Me and my bf are taking this as an invitation back, as this presence in the photo just looks like it wants to be challenged. It’s inviting us back and I’m taking my seat on the spook train. Stay tuned.
