A list of puns related to "Harder Than Easy"
Hi,
Not sure if this is allowed here but I wasn't sure who to go to for advice. I'm trying to find a jigsaw puzzle or two for my dad who has dementia. I want to find a puzzle that looks hard/has highish number of pieces so he feels he has a challenge but is actually pretty easy to match pieces so doesn't frustrate him and remind him of how the dementia is affecting him.
Even if you can't recommend a puzzle in particular some advice on what to look for when selecting a puzzle like this one would be great.
Thanks for any help you can give.
EDIT: Thank you so much to everyone who has helped give advice. You're all amazing people.
Recently my heart rate for normal runs has been around 145-155, and my heart rate for workouts and tempo runs and TTs being 170-185. Is it normal for an easy run with a 148bpm average to feel harder than a 3 mile tempo with a 170bpm average? I recall that easy runs felt easier before despite the heart rate being higher back then (155-165).

I will also smack the next old person who ridicules young people for wanting participation trophies. When today's young adults were toddlers I don't remember them having huge protests demanding they all get trophies all the time for any and every reason possible. I don't remember them banding together saying they would refuse all potty training and continue to shit their diapers until adults promised trophies for all, all the time, for everyone. Old people are so ridiculously stupid to ridicule the youth for something that was not even their idea, not their choice. If they got trophies for nothing.....ridicule the stupid old people for giving them the trophies in the first place. It's stupid altogether any way. I don't even remember my daughter bringing home any trophies for anything. Old people are so simple minded that they will say an entire generation of young people are lazy and entitled and it's all because of participation trophies because they don't want to admit that their generation had it so much easier.
βThe one twoβ my ass, Atlas. It takes like a gajillion hits to kill with the wrench, meanwhile thuggish splicers can kill me in a couple hits. I dread to think what big daddies can do.
1999 mode was a challenge but it was doable, never, even in handyman fights, did I ever think I was outmatched. Bioshockβs survivor mode already feels hopeless and I havenβt even saved a little sister yet.
Hereβs why I say that. Most easy demons seem to be just memorizing a bunch of fast transitions, where the individual sections are really not that hard. There may be a hundred speed and vehicle changes, but just practicing and learning the level, it can be beaten easily. A perfect example of this is the current weekly demon, constant transitions throughout the level but the number of hard parts in the level are few. βInsaneβ levels on the other hand tend to have less transitions but the sections themselves are actually challenging, where the levels are more skill based and less memorization based. This is from what Iβve experienced anyways.
Whilst waiting for Doom I went back to Dark Souls. played and finished it twice, also finished 2 and 3 as well. Always played with Halberd and Shield (insert I'm a cowardly, boring, safe player here.)
Anyway, went back to it, thought I'd try as a mage, everyone says magic users are super easy, just stand back and cast. But, here's the thing, I'm dying way more than on halberd and shield.
Firstly, use is limited. Getting to the Belfry Gargoyles is easy, yes, but you have to use 10 spells on the zombies, and 2 to 3 on the knight on the stairs. Depending on level, you're already halfway through your magic slots- and if you run out your back to using your sword. This was never a problem until O&S, where having to fight two knights, and two giant knights, whose shields often block your attack, this meant I was going into O&S with less than half of my magic. (For reference I had 30 Soul Arrow, 20 medium Soul Arrows, and 8 Extreme Soul Arrows.) Standing back and casting isn't an option, as if you do they block with their shield, so you have to get close to them anyway for them to drop their guard- at which point you may as well use a sword. And even when at the boss Ornstein jumps all over the place so I but about 60% of the time, and Smoughs hammer absorbs the attack.
If you're argument here is 'just run past them, fine, but that's a problem.
Secondly, my defenses are shit. I'm wearing mage robes, I've got a medium level shield, my health is middling, and my endurance is low because I've speccing my character into magic- magic doesn't use stamina. This was fine, but at about Quelagg it just didn't work, one hit would lower my stamina to about 25%, and the inevitable follow up would take off half my health, this was manageable, unless there was an overhead attack, almost always a OHKO. O&S was almost impossible as they'd inevitably team up on me. Had I had more stamina, more strength for a better shield, this would have been nullified- but I don't because I put my stats into magic. In short- in too fragile.
So why get so close, why not lock on? Because:
Thirdly: LOCK ON IS TERRIBLE. To go back to O&S you can only lock onto one of them from about halfway across the room. This means you CAN'T back up and fire as the Lock On will break due to distance, meaning, you're invariably casting, then hoping that Ornstein doesn't do his gap closing move, or that he doesn't cast lightning bolt at the same time. As such I was basically getting in the nit
... keep reading on reddit β‘Of course Iβm not saying all good champs are hard and that thereβs a lot of skill expression, but itβs still not enough. You could point out the argument that itβs a counter to X champion to play Y champion, but what if your champ is countered by everything in the meta? And itβs not just this, itβs being overtuned. For example, against sett and garen, good trades are practically meaningless because of their passive.
And then in bot lane itβs aphelios. Champs are supposed to excel at one thing but not the other. For example, Camille is supposed to be good in 1 v 1s and at splitpushing, and each adc has their own respective niche. But then with aphelios, it becomes indiscernible he has healing, short range abilities, long range abilities, a root, a turret, vision, and aoe minion clear.
But the place where I feel the meta is the most stale is top lane. Itβs been garen and dariua and mordekaiser consistently domination the meta, garen ever since the conqueror wowed on his e, and more ever since heβs been reworked. I donβt have a problem with juggernauts being good, but they are good in every situation. Itβs hard to kite a garen with his q, and itβs harder to kite a Darius with ghost and nimbus cloak, so ranged toplaners donβt work against most juggernauts either, so what does?
Sett and garens passive insures that they always take good trades, and if not, they heal back an absurd amount, and itβs not just that, itβs some of their inherent abilities. For example, setts w could be changed a bit and become an ultimate because of how strong it is. A true damage portion thatβs pretty hard to dodge if he stuns you, that also scales off his health, which isnβt good because why play a pure tank when you can play garen or sett, have the same defensive stats or hp, but also do more damage?
And you could argue that pro play doesnβt see easy champs often, but thatβs because itβs pro play. In solo queue, you arenβt always coordinated, if at all, and it feels like a different game.
So, I've been playing SIF for quite a while. I haven't even touched an Easy difficulty song in about four years. In fact, I lost my original account and started a new one at the beginning of 2018, in which my profile says I haven't cleared any songs below Expert.
This screenshot was from around a month ago when WWSIF had the SoLL goals and since I wanted the SR+ ticket I needed to clear them all. One of them was to clear a song on Easy. I figured, "Hey, no sweat."
...Wrong.
It was so slow I couldn't do it well at all. I was laughing so hard I was crying just because it amused me so much that Easy mode was more difficult for me than EX+. The next goal was to full combo a song on Easy, so I just turned the speed up and did it no problem, but I found it hilarious how much more stressful this was than playing EX.
