I've worked plenty of hospitality jobs throughout my teens and early 20s before I started working in my current career. I picked up a 2nd job at a cafe in CBD two weeks ago where most of the customers are suit wearing lawyers, language teachers and what not. They are the snobbiest, most up-myself humans i've met in Sydney. I really didn't think it was was going to be that bad. I'm a second generation Australian, born and raised in Sydney with no foreign accent and yet the casual racism I receive every shift is shocking. "Oh new guy. *turns to the cafe owner * ''I guess you're putting curry on the menu now?'' *laughs hysterically at his own joke.
Or the many times when they just straight up tell me ''okay, I'm going to say my order once so we wont have to do this again - a almond piccolo extra hot 2 sugars no lid with choc on top''. I get that you're a regular in this place for 5 years but that also means you can clearly see I am a newbie. Can see me carrying 3 bags of rubbish and cardboard boxes to throw in the dumpster, but still stop me on the way ''Can you bring me 2 caps and a machhiato to this table, thanks''
I realise that hospitality is about serving a mix of all kids of people and knowing how to deal with bad customers is part of the skill required for the job, but are we really this snobby and racist deep down?
Anyone else feel the same way or had the same experience?
Having such a lost can help when we are travelling or are looking for places to hangout but with amazing coffee. Something like the canonical list of roasters that's there.
Can anyone suggest any good cafe with smoking i feels most new cafes do not have a smoking zone!

Every single time I get on the ferry, people make a beeline to the cafe and the line is always obscenely long after 5-10 minutes. But why? Did they not consider to eat prior to the ferry? To bring a snack? Are they too excited to fill their bellies with the Triple Oβs burgers?
Please ferry goers, explain your reasonings.
Edit: This is in no way a post to shit on people who wait in the lines, I was just curious of the mentality behind it. Also to those saying βtheyβre hungryβ, well, thatβs no fun.

Iβve recently been becoming extra obsessed with looking good to the point where Iβm going so broke to buy products and clothes to make me look good/improve myself. Iβve been feeling recently like I want to able to look good all the time and my life revolve around me looking good and sexy. Like the fitness influencers and Tik tokers etc. I donβt know why I feel this way but I dread having to work a regular 9-5 job and not have any time to be able to make sure my appearance is good especially whilst Iβm young.
