A list of puns related to "Georg Luger"

After the American revolver, there is simply no other handgun in the world that is as easily recognizable as the Luger pistol. The Pistole Parabellum is itβs official name, but to virtually anyone, the weapon is simply the βLuger.β Georg Luger designed this iconic weapon, as well as the ammunition with which the Luger is loaded β the 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge.
While the weapon is largely associated with Germany, Luger was, in fact, born in the Austrian Empire in 1849, in a city just over the border from modern-day Italy. His father, a surgeon, moved the family to Italy not long after Lugerβs birth where the elder Luger taught at the local university. Luger, however, completed his education in Austria, and then went onto Vienna, where he studied at what is today the prestigious Vienna Business School.
In October 1867, he volunteered for military service as a reserve cadet. His superior officers immediately noticed his excellent marksmanship. They sent him to the Austro-Hungarian Military Firearms School at Camp Bruckneudorf, where he was quickly charged with training marksmanship to other cadets. It was here that he first became interested in automatic loading systems.
Still, the interest went nowhere. Georg left the academy and became an accountant. Indeed, his story might have ended here without anything further if not for a chance encounter many years later. In 1875, Luger met Ferdinand Ritter von Mannlicher and began collaborating with him on rifle magazine designs, which reignited his previous interest in armament. By the beginning of the 1890s, he was working in armament development.
While primarily known for the weapon that bears his name, he also worked on the C/93 semi-automatic pistol designed by Hugo Borchardt. He kept most of what made the C/93 work, but moved the action to the rear of the grip and angled the weapon, both of

Over time, Iβve embraced the fact that Iβm no John Moses Browning β I donβt know how to invent genius stuff from scratch. What I can do, is to tweak and scrape off paint and break stuff to pieces and rebuild it anew.
Iβm Georg Luger.
Anyway.
A friend of mine has baited me into designing my own ideal D&D and since Iβm eager to jump at any opportunity to not do something actually useful (like, yβknow, work on my actually promising game)... Here I am.
My design goals are:
How I define "modern D&D" experience:
Iβm a strong believer that the first time a piece of design actually hits the table, the first time itβs actually played β is the first time it can be meaningfully critiqued and iterated upon.
Thankfully, TTRPGs require almost no stuff to get to the prototyping phase β itβs not like you need to program a character controller, a simple enemy AI, create a somewhat good level to test your mechanicsβ¦ No, all you need is a piece of paper.
Thatβs what I did.
I made a mockup character sheet and went in, with an intention to figure stuff out. To pull new rulings outta my ass, write them down, and then analyze.

I've always wanted to do something like this. Drink a few beers, and re-watch some old WCW. I was a huge WCW fan. I watched them when I was a kid, then got to experience the greatest era of the company as a teenager, and stuck by them to the bitter end.
But it's been a really, really long time since I've re-watched anything other than random PPV highlights because there is some special anniversary.
So fuck it. I'm doing it. If you don't know why I'm starting with this episode of Monday Nitro, it isn't just because it's the first 2 hour episode. Those who know, know. Those who don't, well... Hey yo. Just keep reading.
The show starts with Tony Schiavone, welcoming us to MONDAY NITRO on TNT! Good god. He's such an amazing announcer. Why the fuck did WWE not sign this guy when WCW closed?
With Tony, is The Living Legend, Larry Zybszko. They tout an amazing episode featuring Sting versus Scott Steiner for the first time ever in single's competition and WCW World Heavyweight Champion, The Giant, defending against his BIGGEST challenger ever in The Shark!
Jerking the curtain is... American Males. American Males. American Males. If it's stuck in your head now, I'm sorry. Scotty Riggs and Marcus Alexander Bagwell are the young guns daring the challenge... RIC FLAIR AND ARN ANDERSON! Hell yeah, let's get this underway. Flair is flanked by Woman and Miss Elizabeth because, well, he's Ric Flair.
The American Males vs Ric Flair & Arn Anderson aka The 4 Horsemen
The announcers spend the entirety of the match hyping up an upcoming PPV match between Ric Flair/Arn Anderson and Mongo McMichael/Kevin Green. Larry is really hating on football players, saying they couldn't lace a wrestler's boots, they are human garbage and... Wait a minute. Was this before or after Lawrence Taylor main evented Wrestlemania and Spoilers beat the hell out of Bam Bam Bigelow.
Time to Check the Google!
Well, my timing was way the fuck off. Lawrence Taylor kicked Bam Bam's ass two years before this. Nice little subtle shade.
Anyway, back to the match. Arn Anderson and Ric Flair make The American Males look like legitimate contenders. It's Flair Country. Is it really? I don't know, but it's WCW, so every fucking city is Flair Country, whether they're in NOOOOOOOOORTH CAROLINA or not. Ric Flair goes outside the ring, grabs a bottle of champagne and serves it to the announcers. Tony says it's a first, and now the announcers are rightfully on the

The Legacy of the Gang of Four. To 1977
Following the victory of the Third Reich in the Second World War, the Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler, led Germany through another 18 years of Nazi rule, he oversaw the subjugation and enslavement of Eastern Europe, and the collapse of the Soviet Union into anarchy and chaos after further costly German Intervention. He saw the ceding of territory to the hyper-fanatical SS leader Heinrich Himmler in Occupied Northern France to keep him away from the halls of power in Germania, the architectural mega-project built over Berlin, and an economic meltdown eclipsing even that of 1929, driven by the rampant corporate corruption built into the foundations of the Nazi State. In 1962, Hitler would live to see the victory of Germany in the space race, as they sent men to the moon, but only a year later he would die following a series of Seizures, with the transition of a successor far from certain.
Four men had the top job in their sights, the loyal party administrator, Martin Bormann, the war hero, Hermann Goering and the SS Fanatic, Reinhard Heydrich all thought they had the mettle to step into the shoes of the man who had dominated Europe for nearly three decades. Very few expected Hitlerβs quiet personal friend, architect by trade and designer of Germania, Albert Speer. But many of the German people were weary of the constant battles of the last decades in service of the Reich, and though they would never blame Hitler or National Socialism itself for the failures and setbacks endured since their great victory, enough were amenable to the idea of reform advocated by Speer to flock to his banner in the civil war caused by the vacuum of Hitlerβs death. Enough that he would emerge triumphant in the battle for the nation, clearly many saw him as the man least likely to drag the nation back to another, and this time quite possibly nuclear, war. In the aftermath of his victory, rapid action was needed to drag the Reich out of the past, and for this task Speer surrounded himself with four men who he believed shared his vision, and were disdainful of the reactionary, hardliner and fanatical wing of the party. His Chancellor, Kurt Georg Kiesinger, his foreign Minister, Helmut Schmidt, his economist, Ludwig Erhard, and his

#COMPETITION WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE COMMENTS IN THIS THREAD
###CONTEST WILL BEGIN AT : 1500 Hours Eastern Standard Time, 28th November
###PLEASE SORT THE COMMENTS BY NEW AND REFRESH THE PAGE EVERY TWO MINUTES TO SEE WHEN THE NEW QUESTION HAS BEEN POSTED.
Following would be the structure and rules of the competition.
The Competition would take place within a normal Reddit post.
I would post the question as a top level comment on the post.
The people participating would have to "REPLY" to the top level comment to answer it.
Responses not entered as a reply to the top level comment would not be considered. So please make sure you reply to the comment. This holds specially true if you would be playing from the mobile app, as people sometimes tend to make a top level comment trying to reply. Responses received after two minutes from the time the question is posted will not be considered.
Reddit records the time stamp so it will be easy to track who answered it first. First person to correctly answer the question would receive the credit for the question.
The competition would last 1 HOUR.
It will be held on Saturday 28th November 3PM Eastern US Time. The timing would allow for majority participation across time-zones and continents. Given many of us are under stay at home recommendations, a Saturday would not necessarily preclude participation.
There will be a total of 30 questions. One posted every 2 minutes.
Obviously we will all feel comfortable within the confines of the honor system. But since it is a matter of who gets the answer first, googling may not help as much. But still please don't google.
Results will be announced within 24 hours.
The winner will have 10,000 Dollars donated in their name to the Human Fund. The Human Fund : Money For People.

The funeral director was asking us what we think Mum should wear in her casket.
Mum always loved to wear sarongs (fabric wraps that go around the torso and drape downward a bit like a long skirt would), so my uncle suggested that she wear a sarong in there.
The funeral director looked a bit confused, as did some of our family members, to which my uncle added:
"What's sarong with that?"
I started laughing like an idiot. He was proud of it too. The funeral director was rather shocked. We assured her, and our more proper relatives, that Mum would've absolutely loved the joke (which is very true).
His delivery was perfect. I'll never forget the risk he took. We sometimes recall the moment as a way help cushion the blows of the grieving process.
--Edit-- I appreciate the condolences. I'm doing well and the worst is behind me and my family. But thanks :)
--Edit-- Massive thanks for all the awards and kind words. And the puns! Love 'em.
