A list of puns related to "Gen Con"
For the love of me I cannot decide between these, or possibly even the 16". I guess my main questions are:
Would be my first and (probably) only galil, so I want to make the right choice.
Are you a solo GM planning to run (non-D&D 5E, non-Pathfinder) events at this year's show?Β Have a session of FASERIP Marvel Super Heroes adventure you're DYING to get in front of folks? Palladium Rifts? Rolemaster? That super-crunchy, super-broken version of Shadowrun 2E? Do you have a favorite pet system from yesteryear that needs to live again?
Don't run your game solo -- Consider running games with us!
We are the Alexandria RPG Library (www.alexandriarpg.com) - and we will be bringing a selection of hundreds of RPG source books, modules, game aids, splatbooks, supplements, representing the breadth and depth of 40+ years of roleplaying game history, and making them available to the Gen Con audience.
We are seeking GMs like you to run your wacky, oddball, dead game, obscure indie. Your custom hack of Dread, your WEG Star Wars D6 smugglers one-shot, your homebrew one-page system you scrawled onto the back of a napkin at the Steak 'n Shake and are SUPER EXCITED to share with fellow RPG enthusiasts.
We. Want. You.
We are actively seeking volunteers to run games under our banner, or to be Librarians and Game Sommeliers to help answer questions and share stories with Gen Con attendees at our Library display.
If this sounds like you, please fill out our Call for GMs and Librarians form, to help us gauge interest, discover our capacity to provide volunteers with rewards (e.g. T-shirts), badge and hotel support, and overall help us in our planning to bring an amazing presence to Gen Con (and our other shows) this year.

In 2022 we are again expanding our unique D&D offerings and we need volunteers to help run these events. 2021 Gen Con engaged over a thousand players in our sold-out schedule, and we want to include you on the team and insider Gen Con experience!
This year we are running Chapters 1-3 of the Harry Potter 5th Edition D&D campaign and are looking for both physical and online GMβs. These are self-contained 4-hour RPG adventures that start and continue the story of what happens βFive Years After Voldemortβ. Weβve been blown away by their success and feedback received.
We are also expanding our large-scale 6-18 player D&D experiences and may need some extra help in running five Tower of Gygarn events: Battle Royale, Monster vs. Monster Party Draft, Wandering Monster Arena Royale, and D&D βKill It KEEP Itβ (where the winner keeps the D&D model) premier events. These are large scale combat focused events for 6-18 players. Nothing else like them!
Volunteer Rewards:
4-Day Gen Con Badge (if you run 4 or more events)
Hotel Reimbursement (if you run 8 or more events) (some limits apply)
Cash Payout upon completion of final events ($ per event completed)
T-Shirt β No Rails Adventure Team Event Judge
Access to Adventure Modules for events you run
If you have interest in being a Team Member please send me a message and weβll add you to the email distribution list and get any questions you have answered or schedule a quick chat. I think prior year judges will agree that this is a very rewarding experience. Hope to hear from you and see you at Gen Con 2022 whether live or online!

Iβm curious how people my age able to buy their own property, I want to learn and be able to afford one in the future.
I'm writing a campaign for this coming Gen Con. I want to create a crazy item shop. Does anyone have any good home-brew items that they have put together and would be willing to let me use in my campaign?
After considerable internal discussion, R. Talsorian Games has decided to exit Gen Con 2021. We donβt do this lightly. We had planned on our biggest Gen Con yet this year, with more events than ever, more booth space than ever, and a larger crew than ever.
And thatβs why, in good conscience, we cannot attend the convention. The health and safety of our crew comes first and the numbers in Indiana are abysmal. The vaccination rates are too low, the positivity rates and new case rates too high, and the social mandates designed to protect people too few. If even one member of our crew caught COVID-19 while attending Gen Con or carried it home to their loved ones and their local community, that would be one too many.
At R. Talsorian Games, we write about Dark Futures for fun, but we also believe we have a responsibility to try and prevent them from happening.
We want to make it clear, we do not blame the staff of Gen Con 2021 or the Indiana Convention Center in any way. We honestly believe they have done everything they legally and contractually can to make the convention as safe an experience as possible. Unfortunately, conventions never happen just inside the convention center. With airports, hotels, open spaces, and places to eat at play, the risk of infection is just too high.
If you were coming to Gen Con to sit down at our tables and play games with us, weβre sorry. Please contact Gen Con and see about getting a refund for your event tickets. If you were coming to Gen Con to visit our booth and buy from us, weβre sorry. We heartily suggest purchasing our games through your local game store if at all possible.
If you are attending Gen Con, please be safe. Get vaccinated if you can and arenβt already. Wear your mask, and wear it properly. Donβt touch your face. Social distance as much as possible. Wash and/or sanitize your hands regularly. Be a responsible member of the gaming community.
We will miss being at Gen Con this year. It honestly broke our hearts to make this decision but feel it was the right call for us and our crew and it is our sincere desire to see you all at Gen Con 2022.
Letβs all do what we can to make that happen.

I was impressed by the nearly ubiquitous mask compliance and positive people. Didnβt feel unsafe. Was that the vibe most people got as well?
I know we're all excited to find out what the new playtest classes will be (Go kineticist!) But I think the panel they would be announced at is tomorrow.
But today I believe there's going to be a guns and gears deep dive? What are you most excited to hear about from that? I definitely want to hear more about the beast guns, but I'm also excited to hear about balancing changes to the classes from the playtest.
I never got the chance to play either, but I did hear they seemed to be a little behind the power curve.
This past weekend my wife and I went to Gen Con in person for the very first time (we went online last year). We heard from others that this year would be very different - but coming in with a fresh perspective, we wanted to share what we saw!
When we entered the convention hall, we were greeted by wonderland. Board games, everywhere! Of course there were a few publishers missing (all the Asmodee groups, Brotherwise Games, a few others..) and it supposedly wasn't as crowded (definitely wasn't shoulder to shoulder) but the ones that were there we proud to show off all the games they've made not only recently but in the last 2 years. Many of these games released in 2020 were seeing the floor for the first time.
What I found was the experience felt really special. Every interaction felt intentional, people were excited to share conversation about board games again, strangers were so excited to dive into learning new games together in the open gaming hall, and we discovered so many games that we had never heard of despite them coming out over a year ago. It was also open enough that you could pretty much walk up to any booth and within 0-5 minutes get to sit down and demo their newest games. I really felt like I got to see a lot, it felt like going to Disneyland on a work day in off season and getting to ride all the rides.
It was great to talk to designers about their games and ask them why they chose the themes they did, what their favorite twists and mechanics were - it was great to hear how passionate they were. Piles of Sleeping Gods copies got signed by Ryan Laukat. The Dice Tower Live event was a blast, Zee is hilarious - great comedic timing. Later in open gaming we'd be sitting playing games and designers like Eric Lang and YouTubers would come by to see what people were up to.
It was a truly special experience and I am so glad to have gone. Some favorites we saw there included The Rocketeer, Paris: La Cité de la Lumière, Rift Force, Merchants of the Dark Road, Blitzkrieg reprint!!, Horrified American Monsters, Strike, and more!!
Anyone else go? What were your thoughts?
Do we know how they plan on enforcing this? We are on the fence about just canceling all together now and this is the one thing I'm waiting to hear more about. However, I am not finding any information other than masks are required to attend. (I already planned on wearing one and am already vaccinated. But still better safe than sorry.) Has anyone heard anything on how they plan on handling that? I'm just worried that people will do what we've seen the whole pandemic wear them to get in and take them off once they are through the door. Thanks!
