Denial of Early Treatment
Ivermectin is one drug - better drugs will emerge. Fluvoxamine - another generic drug - is emerging as a good candidate (for preventing serotonin syndrome at day 8).
The real crime of the century is denial of Early Treatment.
Early treatment is required to reduce deaths for the unvaccinated.
And to reduce deaths in the breakthrough cases among the vaccinated.
With vaccines, the number of deaths go down, but a small fraction will still need treatment.
In addition, if variants emerge, and vaccines are unable to keep up, then early treatment will be important - as a safety net.
Current policy at many hospitals is inspired by the early triage conditions - and sends patients home with paracetamol and tells them to wait until they are hypoxic before coming to hospital.
A simpler strategy would send them away with a medicine packet (as is being done in Uttar Pardesh state in India).
The medicine packet could contain Ivermectin, Famotidine, and a steroid - to be taken at day 8 for the hyperinflammatory stage.
However, not only early treatment, but the medicines in use are censored from news reports.

I’ve been thinking about media entertainment in the age of conglomeration (Disney, etc), the end of covid (theaters lively again), and the streaming war. How will established entertainment companies that were not part of major mergers and purchases weather the year? Will they be destroyed by bigger companies? Do they have some advantage with the changing social landscape? I don’t have a good answer myself, but if anything, I imagine this to be an eventful year for such companies.
