A list of puns related to "FosterβSeeley discriminator"
I am trying to train a GAN to generate human poses in 3D space using the Humans 3.6M dataset. The output of the GAN is thus the 3D coordinates of the human joints. I have been experimenting with vanilla GANs but the output is quite noisy.
I am now looking into Least Squares GAN but was wondering if it is a good idea to pretrain the discriminator of a Least Squares GAN since LSGANs address the problem of vanishing gradients and loss saturation?
In other gaming services that use suffixes or discriminators (i.e., those extra numbers at the end of your name, prefixed by a hashtag/octothorpe/pound sign), it's usually displayed in small font or sometimes hidden completely, to emphasize that it's not part of your actual display name. When Xbox rolled out this change, I would've understood if existing infrastructure didn't allow for such formatting, but I was expecting it for new games going forward. So I'm extremely disappointed to find that even big new first-party titles like Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite don't do this, showing the scrim as full-size numbers without even the hashtag as a visual separator, making it look like my gamertag just has a bunch of random numbers tacked onto the end of it.
It's especially egregious in Back 4 Blood, which has its own discriminator for its cross-platform infrastructure. So my name ends up looking like GamertagXXXX#YYYY.
I guess it's pretty minor, as far as gripes go. But for something as personal as a gamertag, it's really unfortunate to see how poorly this feature was adopted. It's even more baffling considering that it is properly implemented in a few places, like the system-level menus and the Xbox app. Why couldn't it have been done in-game?
So, my unit doesn't own a m240b discriminator. I've asked supply/armorers for them to make orders and they do but it never goes anywhere. Is it possible to buy my own discriminator? I can't find any online.
I'm trying to understand the Pix 2 Pix GAN which is used for image translation. Paper here: https://arxiv.org/pdf/1611.07004v3.pdf
The discriminator looks at 70 by 70 pixel patches and evaluates whether they are real or fake. It takes both the conditional image and the synthesised image as an input. According to the Tensorflow tutorial's implementation these 2 images are concatenated together: https://www.tensorflow.org/tutorials/generative/pix2pix
My question is if the discriminator is only looking at 70x70 patches at a time, how does it understand how the 2 images relate and check that the conditional input has actually informed the image that has been generated?
Any help greatly appreciated
When I told my former boss that I was previously in foster care, I thought it was a moment to be proud of because I got emancipated when I was 14. I thought it showed that I was mature. But then there was something about his expression and the way he looked at me and something he wasn't telling me. Like maybe there is a stigma or bias or something. I don't know what other people know about foster care and I'm having such a difficult time communicating with people and having my needs met in nearly every social situation.
I started crying today as I explained to a crisis line that it has been taking a really long time for me to get therapy for trauma because there have been so much miscommunication. Children's Aid didn't explain anything to me before they aged me out. I wasn't taught how to navigate the medical system, so I had misconceptions about what kind of medical care I qualify for since that was a thing that was done for me by social workers when in care (I think I saw a dentist, optometrist and doctor once in foster care?).
So I didn't know how to get a doctor and when I tried to get one, there was a huge miscommunication because when they said "who is your 'family' physician?" I was so confused? I was like "What do you mean family physician?...My foster family? My mothers?" I just literally and constantly have no idea what the fuck is going on all the goddamn time.
I've so sick of people not being there for me like when I am being sexually harassed at work, I don't so much as get legal representation because I don't know how to access it.
When I ask other former foster kids if they tell other people that they were in foster care, they tell me they don't, especially to potential employers. It makes me want to cry because I was initially proud of who I was and how independent I was, but now people are telling me about the negative consequences of telling people you were from foster care could put you at risk for sex trafficking or sexual abuse, or people could use your past to bully you, you could face discrimination...and this is all too much for me to handle.
I don't understand why my former employer started bullying me honestly. I feel like nobody ever fucking tells me anything. I just want to see my Children's Aid case files so I can get some context into my history but I'll probably have the biggest cry of my life when I do.
I feel as helpless as a child in need of an adult but if I try to look for one, I'll meet some terrible charact

NIO has delivered around 120K EVs to date and performed 2.9M battery swaps which is an average of 24 per vehicle (obviously older have more and newer less). The latest 2.0 station cranks out 312 swaps a day in less than 5 minutes per swap. They plan to have 700 BaaS stations end of year and are partnered with Sinopec (helps infrastructure and transition from ICE to EV). By 2025 they expect 4000 stations worldwide (1000 outside of China starting with Norway). 29% of stations are within 3 km (about 2 miles) of users and should be up to 90% in 2025. Clearly BaaS is catching on. Factor in the govt support, reduced EV entry price, service maintains and upgrades batteries, and fast recharge, BaaS should propel NIO upward.
