A list of puns related to "Floodgates principle"
Over the last few months, some of you may have seen the name 'Peng Shuai' in the news or trending on the front page of Reddit. Some of you may have even heard of tennis pulling out of China, and wondered 'Hey, what's all that about?'. Here is the story of Peng Shuai, and how women's tennis decided to stand up for its players.
Background: Who is Peng Shuai?
Although not widely known, Peng Shuai is a very famous doubles player from China. A multiple doubles Grand Slam winner, Peng also made the US Open singles semi-final in 2014. Over a career that has spanned two decades, she racked up an impressive 25 titles, reached a career high ranking of No. 14 in singles, and held the position of World No. 1 in doubles (becoming the first Chinese player to do so). Alongside the likes of Li Na and Zheng Jie, she is considered one of the greatest tennis players to come out of China.
In early November 2021, Peng posted a lengthy message on Weibo, where she accused China's septuagenarian former Vice Premier, Zhang Gaoli, of sexual assault. She related an incident where Zhang and his wife both invited her back to their apartment, where he essentially confined Peng to a room until she agreed to have sex with him. (Disclaimer: I cannot read Mandarin and am relying on this translation here - if there are any issues with the translation, please clarify in the comments!). In her post, she stated "That afternoon, I didn't agree and I kept crying. I was terrified and anxious. Taking into consideration the affection I had for you seven years ago, I agreed... yes, we had sex." Peng then went on to say that she and Zhang thereafter had a consensual relationship for a couple of years, with the consent and knowledge of his wife.
Peng's post was immediately scrubbed from the Internet, and searches for her name were temporarily blocked. Regardless, it spread like wildfire, with translations making their way out into other forms of social media. Peng disappeared from public view, and was not seen or heard from for several weeks, leading many to wonder if her disappearance was a result of the Chinese government or the Chinese Community Party (CCP) taking action.
Posters on social media began to raise questions about

This is gonna be a long post.
In celebration of Binance listing UST and LUNA breaking 100$, I would like to update my original post nearly half a year ago on the Terra ecosystem. There's a ton of euphoria right now, and so its always good to take a look back at the fundamentals.
A lot has changed since then and by now I'm sure many more people have heard about Terra, maybe even used some of its dapps. For those that are brand new, I recommend reading my original post first. For those wondering if it's too late to get into LUNA, I will present why I think LUNA still has much room to grow. I won't cover every protocol, just the ones I think are most interesting/significant. Still, there's a lot to go through so let's get started.
A quick refresher
Terra is a blockchain developed by TerraForm Labs based on Cosmos SDK (this is important because it allows Terra to connect to all other blockchains in the Cosmos ecosystem, more on this later). Their main products are a suite of algorithmic stablecoins, the most prominent being UST tied to the dollar. UST retains its peg through its relationship with LUNA, where LUNA absorbs the volatility of UST. LUNA is minted when selling UST, and burned when buying UST. In practice, 1$ of LUNA always equals 1$ of UST, even if UST loses its peg. This creates arbitrage opportunities, where if UST is at 1.50$, you can sell 1$ of LUNA for 1.50$ UST and immediately bank 50% profit. This increases supply of UST as people sell LUNA for UST and the peg returns to 1. In reverse, if UST is at .50$, people buy 1$ of LUNA with .50$ UST, which decreases UST supply until the peg returns to 1. Again, videos on this below:

Stablecoins are the most important product in all of crypto, no question about it. I honestly can't imagine a time without stablecoins when people took profits into BTC, itself a highly volatile asset. But stablecoins are also not a risk-less product, they are subject to regulators scrutiny and issued by sometimes shady companies (cough...Tether) that may or may not have the funds available to prevent a bank run. A decentralized stablecoin for defi is a no-brainer, and UST is the best of the best currently (DAI is ba

My answer was that I could once believe that God had commanded it, but all of the details of its implementation lead me to believe instead that it was not of God. I've been collecting a list of all the items that would be weighing on my shelf, if I still had a shelf, and I want to share the polygamy section of that list. As I'm still talking with the aforementioned TBM, it would be helpful if anyone can find anything wrong with my sources, any bias or logical fallacies, a logical leap that I don't support with some reasoning or evidence, anything wrong with this list, please tear it to shreds and let me know.
It's kind of long; I'd apologize for that fact, but ... it's not MY fault. Some of you will just skip over this as "nothing new", but I haven't seen anything like this put together quite this way, and I'm hoping that there's at least something novel herein, maybe at least in the organization / presentation, and some of the issues I tie together.
Are there any additional points anybody would add? I'd love to make this list positively exhaustive, but I am looking for solid reasoning, reliable historical sources, etc. No rhetoric.
Edit: Formatting this for Reddit was a pain! Apologies for anyone who was trying to actually read it!
Without further ado:
I already wrote about this is my previous post, but the conversation quickly died out and the post was left to rot. I also started rambling a lot and spend way too much time not really going nowhere... I didn't really plan to add all that information in the same post... so I'll try to explain my reasoning a little better.
To those who are well aware of EVERYTHING circling around the Mr Blue Eyes, you might not get any new information, but to those who've only watched a single YouTube clip there might be plenty of new things you don't remember or haven't taken a closer look at.
I listened a radio podcast by Mike Pondsmith, in Cyberpunk 2077's Maximum Mike, talking about the real origins of the net. In this podcast he has a trusty informant who isn't a crazy person, she lays out a case where the Net is actually Hell, and what Rache Bartmoss actually did was just to open the door. This leaves a speculation of whether he was actually the one to create these demons, and what actually happened was that he just simply erased all the floodgates that controlled the vile aspects of the Net from the citizens when the Net was free.
The unnamed Netrunner that Maximum Mike talked about also mentions how the Netwatch had it's origins from the Vatican... not really super important information, but it does highlight the fact that the Netwatch has "a sacred mission" to detect and destroy evildoers, like the Paladins from a movie Jumper were this centuries old organization that was meant to keep the order and stop these Jumpers just using and abusing these powers that they clearly weren't never meant to control, just like the movie quote from Spiderman: ***"With great power comes great responsibility"***.

If you are with great power, you need to be extra careful to use it, or would soon be deemed reckless and dangerous, just like the citizens of these metropolitans who deem these vigilantes dangerous criminals, or the Jedi deeming Sith Lord to be too dangerous to be left alive.

It is not my intention here to explain what Q is or the history of the movement. This is more an analysis of one personβs psychological priming and making them susceptible to the alternative narrative Q offered. My motivation for writing this is primarily a selfish one as putting the process in words helps me to understand it better and I hope will allow closure for a chaotic chapter of my life. I am not trained in psychology but as I explain my story, I think you will clearly see the patterns emerge.
I became aware of Q in early 2020 just as the Covid pandemic was starting to affect us in the UK. The dramatic societal upheaval and borderline-apocalyptic outlook held by the majority of people I followed online fueled long seated paranoid beliefs within me. I had been into conspiracy theory since I was a teenager and until very recently held unshakable beliefs surrounding certain events like 9/11. I will explain later in the text what my views of these beliefs are now.
It is my opinion that Q arrived during the perfect storm. With global societal unrest and distrust in βofficialdomβ reaching all time highs Q was already gaining sizable traction before the pandemic even began. Once the pandemic prompted lock-downs around the globe suddenly millions of people were at home with only the internet and traditional media to provide answers and a sense of social inclusion. With governments seemingly unable to provide satisfactory answers people turned to alternative sources of information to address their concerns. People wanted answers immediately, and there were people willing to provide them.

I was raised a Jehovahβs Witness. This is a religion which follows quite a literal interpretation of the bible and as such is known for such practices as not celebrating Christmas or birthdays and more concerning is their practice of denying blood transfusions. To me however the most damaging aspect of the Jehovahβs Witness lifestyle is the psycho-social manipulation that takes place. I was taught from a very young age that we were not to socialise with children from outside the religion. We were not allowed to sit in school assemblies which took place every morning as they sang hymns and of course were not allowed to go to birthday parties. This level of social isolation from such a young age created a sense of loneliness and despair which still haunts me to this day. I am 34 now and still suffer a great de

OK. Not end of article. We are going deep on this one, so get a pot of coffee on and dig in.
What I wanted to do is arm you to the teeth with some AKs and AR15s to blast out some knowledge when called upon. My friends hate me. βNate, you said silver was going to moonshotβ. Yes. I did. I still do. What many of us did NOT see coming was a bank somehow telling us that they indeed added 110m of silver to a trust everyone bought β but actually, did not, which when then found in an βaccounting errorβ a month later had no comment. HAD they actually went on the market to buy what they said they had actually bought, silver would have moonshot as expected. Problem is, they changed the prospectus in the middle of the night DURING silversqueeze because they realized what it would do β then LIED to people saying they indeed sourced it. Hereβs the full accounting of it.
I mention all of the above because the futures market wasβ¦βtamped downβ and a very large trust seemed to lie to the people β those two items allowed the villains in this story to escape, and make me and others look like clowns. For now. I donβt really give a shit what my friends think, however. All of them can hate me now for all I care, and in 5-10 years when their silver goes 5-10x from what they paid, they will buy me a beer and be done with it. I help them pay off their house and I get grief for 5 years and then a beer at the end of it. Seems fair.
What do I want? A long awaited and beautiful move up in silver that STAYS there. Not this $50 bullshit for a weekend. IF you are buying stacks of thousands of ounces of silver at $20-$25 to sell at $50 over a weekend, you are doing it wrong son. Let me entice you into a story of Bitcoin-like moves to come, and why. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
"So," Dream began, "how've you been lately? Anyone giving you trouble?"
"Oh, n-no," George stammered, "not at all, Dream. Everything's been going well, and, um...." He blushed. "I missed you... that's all."
Dream let his hand fall across George's back, muttering quickly as if almost embarrassed, "Yeah, I missed you too." George was silent in response, only leaning toward Dream's warmth. "You're a good person. You know?"
"Why do you say that all of a sudden...?" he murmured. "I'm not that especially good."
"I figured you should know." Dream glanced at him before placing his hands behind his head. "Hanging out with a rascal like me hasn't changed you a bit."
"You shouldn't say that about yourself," George whispered. "You're not a rascal. Just strong of spirit."
Dream laughed at himself and looked up into the sky, dropping his arms and thinking about all the things that had been said of him, and the stumbling blocks that still kept them apart, and the simple feeling that he was corrupting something pure whenever he hung around George. "Not really. But if you say so."
George slipped his soft hand into his. With a little smile, he stated, "You're so good to me, Dream. I can never tell you enough how much you mean to me." Dream held his hand and thought to himself that that was enough -- that if he meant something good to this one person, nothing the rest of the world said mattered.
After a few moments, they found themselves walking down the beach . Something was bothering Dream, although Dream didn't want to admit it. He didn't want to burden George with it anyway -- he was supposed to be the stronger one! Still, his legacy of failure wouldn't leave him alone.
All the same, George seemed to notice. He looked at Dream cautiously for a moment before murmuring, "Dream? Is... something wrong?"
"George... it's..."
And at that moment everything came together, all of the magic and the hurt that had been building that day, and he locked his windows to his soul with his and whispered, "You can tell me."
It was like a floodgate burst, or some barrier of fear had been struck down. Dream shook his head and everything came out at once. "It's just... I'm just no good, George. I can never do anything right, heh. I guess, I'm sorry. I just ruin everything. I'll probably ruin this, heh. I... forget it. I just can't..."
George listened silently and solemnly. At last, when all the words had left Dream and he was at a loss for words, George reached out to him and to

Now. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of arbitrarily losing games to a single card. I usually run as much backrow removal as I can, however some decklist are just too tight. We are now in a meta where most decks can create a strong board going first, add TTH to that and you'll win in two or three turns, the card is a win condition on its own.
It's incredibly difficult to recover from TTH, normally you lose as soon as it resolves. Letting you with the feeling that you lost not to your opponent's skills/playstyle but to a generic trap card. "I would've won if it wasn't for TTH" I bet a lot of you have had that thought, because I have. Although traps like Floodgate, Canadia and Fiendish Chain might be annoying, slowdown the game etc. at least you can still play, fight through them. Fiendish Chain can become a hindrance in it's owner's field, if you play correcly. A turn one Treacherous Trap Hole is the equivalent of getting one shotted as soon as you enter the boss' room. I'd rather have a long duel trying to survive multiple traps, than lose in a second to one that's OP.
Personally, I think the card needs to go away, forbidden, poof!, sayonara, pretend it never existed. I refuse to use TTH out of principle, but I see more and more people using it as of late.
