A list of puns related to "Fighting Foodons"
Everyone will have prep time and the battle taking place on a neutral battleground
I am currently attempting to learn Javascript, HTML, and CSS in an attempt to make a browser-based game (not unlike Flower Game or Dragon Cave) where every monster is based on a food in one of the food groups from the food pyramid, and I'd like to know if there's another game that isn't Fighting Foodons that's attempted this.
Basic gameplay would be like this: You are an explorer in search of these food monsters and treasure to make a name for yourself. In the world this takes place in, you cannot eat the monsters as-is (or cooked), but must use products from them to make a healthy meal to get you energized (my idea for that is that once domesticated the cannot lay eggs anymore, but instead a product relating to what they represent) You get a set of starters in the tutorial that you can make a meal using their help, and from there you go search for more eggs that ultimately end up giving you the nutrition needed to find rarer treasure and eggs.
Here's an example: My one finished monster sprite I have is an ice-themed cherry monster, fairly common on the world the game takes place in. You can make a cherry pie using products from currently-unsprited Grain, Sweets and the cherry monsters (Wheat Flour, Sugar, and Cherries in this case) and then eat it, allowing you be full of energy and go on a trek for rarer eggs and some treasure.
You can't just spam cherry pies, however, since I'm trying to make a point to eat balanced meals! You could eat cherry pie all day for your trekking meals, however you'd be unable to reach some areas that mean you're not getting enough vitamins in, like if you're not eating enough veggies you can't go down a certain path (still gotta work out a reasoning). It's kind of silly, but I want it to be less spammable for the best results, and make players think before they make plans on what to eat.
I haven't made any other stats for the character, but I'm pretty sure Protein Eggs would mean your character could lift a bit heavier objects and Dairy Eggs mean their bones are harder so they can scale a cliff face going downward without risking as much injury. Stuff like this needs to be fleshed out a bit more before I start tinkering, but I have plenty of ideas.
So yeah, I'm looking for any other games that may have done my idea already, since I'm pretty sure that's not how Fighting Foodons worked?
EDIT: I probably should mention that I would like games listed that have a vast majority of their creatures as food. Sorry about any c
... keep reading on reddit โกLook it's time we realize that DUMBfreak has completely let us down. Pokemon as a franchise has been left out to rot, it'll never again be the full course meal it once was. We must move on.
So in honor of that, I'd like to introduce you to Fighting Foodons! The monster designs are impastably perfect, from CowBoyritto to HotDog-Gunnit, it's clear to me after all this time how DUMBfreak was just copying the genius of FF lately to make up for their unoriginality. Slurpuff? Appletun? These are but shallow facsmiles of FF.
I guess what trying to say is, if you think I'm going to give money to a company that is devoid of any creativity, you can SPAGHETT-ABOUT-IT!
So I was scrolling through tubi and saw Fighting Foodons on there. This gave me an extremely weird flashback of being a kid and seeing on TV something about drawing an original Foodon . It might have been a contest or just a fun thing to do . Just curious if this was real thing anyone else remembers or if it was some weird fever dream. I remember drawing some sort of Taco Monster .
This was a show that aired on my local fox-syndicated saturday morning cartoon channel that was kindof just a pokemon spinoff where chefs' meals came alive and fought each other. The animation style was similar to a lot of japanese anime that I've been into since then, and I think about it a lot because my life basically revolves around food at this point.
Then, I'm also curious about y'alls recommendations for anime that feature delicious food. I'm thinking of imagery like the spirited away buffet in the beginning, or like when goku winds up stacking dishes until they fill the whole table (or better yet, Sanji's introductory arc in One Piece). It seems like each anime has its own idealised version of Food, and there are so many mouthwatering scenes from the classics--there must be some shows that home in on the people making the food and the details of preparing and serving it. All I want is to take a bath in gyoza and watch endless perfect feasts. Thanks!

Looking for an anime largely focused around cooking, or a character becoming a chef. Anyone have any suggestions in mind?
What is his signature dish? How does it fight?
The best fight of life.
This is my first Reddit post, so bare with me please.
Okay so here's the deal, I've been talking with the company that owns the rights to Fighting Foodons. If you don't know what that is, you probably won't be swayed by this video, but I'm posting it anyways. For "90's Kids" this is a huge piece of nostalgia, as good or bad as it may be. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LbWWx80ZPA
I think there's huge potential in the general concept of the old franchise, but as the Vice President of the company told me today, a re-brand would be beneficial for it to really take off here in the states.
I would love some ideas on how I could get this project started and what it should look like. Realistically I'd like the initial concept to be crowdsourced. Comment. Ask questions. Anything. I'd love suggestions and I'd love to get this thing started.
