On January 13, 2021, about 1319 eastern standard time, an Extra Flugzeubau GMBH EA300L, N771JP, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Pell City, Alabama. The pilot was not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. According to the pilot, he departed with 14 gallons of fuel in the wing tanks and 12 gallons in the center tank. After a 10-minute flight, he was on approach about 1,500 ft above ground level when the airplane experienced a total loss of engine power. The pilot was unable to restart the engine and the airplane's left-wing stuck trees and terrain during the ensuing forced landing. Examination of the accident site by a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspector revealed that the airplane came to rest upright in a field and sustained substantial damage to the wings and fuselage. There was no odor of fuel and no evidence of fuel spillage at the scene. The center fuel tank was completely full, and the wing fuel tanks contained only trace amounts of fuel. The airplane was recovered for further examination.

It’s so much more competitive now. In 2010, just ten years ago, Harvard would accept 20% of it’s EA applicants, and about 10% of its RD applicants (which is about Cornell’s RD acceptance rate now). Penn would accept a whopping 50% of EA applicants! Cornell’s RD acceptance rate was as high as 25%. Compare that to today, where Harvard’s acceptance rate in the previous cycle was just about 3% - something that will likely continue for the next decade.

I just found those statistics extremely surprising. Harvard EA was just about as competitive as UCLA RD.
I am happy to wait for them to patch the game and play it later, but we deserve some kind of refund or compensation for the extra money spent in order to play this game a week early. It is absolutely deplorable considering how bad the game is, that they will keep all the extra money made from this "early access" sale.

On October 21, 2017, at 1611 Pacific daylight time, an Extra Flugzeugproduktions-Und EA 300/L, N414MT (Callsign Ace 5), collided with terrain within the watershed of the El Capitan Reservoir, near Four Corners, California. The flight instructor and passenger sustained fatal injuries and the airplane was destroyed. The airplane was registered to KD Leasing LLC., and operated by California Extreme Adventures LLC. (doing business as Sky Combat Ace), under the provisions of 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91. The local instructional flight departed Gillespie Field Airport, San Diego/El Cajon at 1557. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed, and no flight plan had been filed.
The operator's website described itself as an "extreme aviation attraction," providing a series of aviation related "experiences", including aerobatics, air combat, and flight training. The passenger had signed up for the 25-minute-long, "Top Gun" experience, which according to their website was a flight which included, "Advanced Aerobatics", "Basic Aerobatics", a "Low Level Bombing Run", "You Fly Maneuvers", and "You Fly Departure".
Preliminary radar data provided by the FAA indicated a target initiating a climbing left turn after departing from runway 17, and reaching a mode C reported altitude of about 4,700 ft mean sea level (msl), 5 miles northeast of the airport. For the next 10 minutes, the target followed a track along the general path of the San Diego River, then east of the El Capitan Reservoir, and north towards the town of Four Corners. The track followed a meandering path at varying airspeeds and altitudes ranging between 4,500 and 7,100 ft in a manner consistent with aerobatic maneuvers, and multiple witnesses along the route indicated seeing an airplane performing aerobatic-like maneuvers about that time.
At 1610 the target had reached its farthest point from the airport, just north of the reservoir. It then began to track back to the southwest, climbing from 5,000 ft to 6,900 ft over the next 90 seconds. About 15 seconds later, the last target was recorded just to the southeast at an altitude of 4,500 ft.
The accident site was located within the river valley, on a hillside slope at an elevation of about 775 ft, about 1,000 ft east of the last radar target. The primary wreckage consisted of a 4-ft-deep by 6-ft-wide crater which contained fragmented engine and airframe components. This post got more attention than I expected, so thank you everyone for answering! Definitely a lot of good info to consider/help me make a decision. For those asking, I pulled the crime statistics from websites like neighborhood scout and others. I specifically looked at property crimes and the difference was a 0.7% chance vs. a 1.4% chance. Obviously not the only thing to consider, but being new to the area, I was using it as an initial ballpark for each neighborhood.

Moving into my 1st apartment next month. I'm torn between two options.
Apartment size, layout, and overall quality are about the same. However one unit is the top floor in a safer neighborhood whereas the other is floor 3 out of 4 in a more average neighborhood (odds of becoming a crime victim are about 2x higher in this neighborhood over the other). Both buildings have RFID controlled access (if that's worth anything at all these days).
For the top floor in the safer neighborhood rent is about $300 more expensive (~20% more). Both are within my budget, but obviously saving money is nice. Any thoughts and opinions are welcomed and greatly appreciated from experienced apartment-dwellers.

So I’ve made some lists on PCPartPicker that I can link if necessary and I’m trying to decide between a 1650 or 1660S. The prices I’m seeing for the 1650 are around $350 USD and for the 1660S they are around $650 USD. If I get the 1650 that allows me to get a better CPU (Ryzen 5 5600X) and more storage/RAM, but I’ve heard that the 1660S is much better than the 1650, and since I’m mainly going to be gaming I was considering getting a stronger GPU. But with the 1660S I can only fit an i5-10400F and even then I’m still going 50-125 dollars over my budget, and that is still not including the OS. Also, is there a noticeable difference between the two cpus? From what I’ve seen the i5 is still a somewhat decent cpu but I’m not sure how it compares to the 5600X

Hi all, I want to preface this by saying that I play mostly hardcore trade league and when testing in PoB try to have atleast 200% increased maximum life on the passive skill tree. For Softcore leagues these nodes could be reinvested into a crit variant of the proposed build for even higher damage.
I noticed the frosty reception to u/Grand0rk's thread on evasion stacking with champion and wanted to provide my own optimizations as well as build variants for different playstyles. With relatively low investment, an armour value of 128251 was achieved without flasks, with the caveat of 20% more damage taken from attacks. With replica dreamfeather we can forgo all % increased damage nodes and invest purely into % armour and evasion on the passive skill tree, achieving much higher armour values (300-500k), although mainhand damage will be substantially lower than a BiS weapon (this can be somewhat mitigated with added damage investment). Onto the build:
Uniques:
The only mandatory unique is replica dreamfeather which converts 450 armour into 1% increased attack damage. Depending on your skill of choice it may be optimal to have it in your offhand and have a good weapon in your main hand or have two dreamfeathers for twice the conversion. A hardcore variant (ES based) of this build may also consider Aegis aurora with glancing blows and the new Tempest shield reservation + some block investment. This would effectively halve your damage but you would recover your maximum ES upon blocking. If you'd like to go the transcendence variant you'll need the militant faith timeless jewel. If you are going transcendence you should consider using a shield with the buffed 8% physical damage reduction
As for recommended uniques, the first is Starkonja's head, which grants 50% reduced damage and 150% global evasion on low life. This helmet has great stats and has a neat interaction with the champion notable "First to strike, Last to Fall" and the petrified blood skill. Tapping your life flask every 20 seconds you can maintain permanent adrenaline, at the cost of taking 20% more hit damage unless you have an anomolous petrified blood. With sufficient base evasion the % evasion on low life more than makes up for the reduced damage.
Another cool unique is the Three-step Assault boots which have decent stats and 100% increased evasion rating with onslaught and with patch 3.16 now provide 30% chance to avoid elemental ailments on phas
