This is interesting: Ontario appears to have quietly changed its classification of 1,000s of "community spread" cases. As of Sept. 29 (left) 12,488 cases were marked "no epi-link" Today (right) it's 9,210. Those cases appear to be reclassified as "unknown," or info pending.
From Ed Tubb of The Star about 3 hours ago.
Ontario has also quietly made some significant revisions to their covid tracking in Ontario schools today.
Does anyone have any insight into what is going on in these reports?

Epi Info 7 Question
Hi everyone,
I am working on a project using Epi Info 7 and was wondering if you could import data from an excel workbook directly into the program and have the all the fields populate. I saw you can create a table with Epi Info 7 with an excel workbook but I need the data from the workbook to populate, not just the tables

Instead of asking Epi to leak info about Season 4....
We seriously need to find that easter egg on Favela. Epi confirmed it was on favela, I'm just personally way too lazy to look for it and figured somebody has the time to.
Edit: Was referring to an easter egg about the japanese dlc.

Just a heads up to fellow epi pen users. It's over 25Β°c in London (uk) at the moment so it's over the safe temperature for the pens. They potentially lose their effectiveness if kept in this temperate so we need to cool them down... I'm not selling them. more info in comments

Had Cxl Epi Off done, about 3+ years ago. I was scared without any info, so here is my experience.
I posted this before, but remembering just how terrified I was when I found out I had KC, I thought I might just post this again.
I had CxL (cross-linking) done on both eyes, same time, epi off. Here is what to expect and how it felt.
Hey guys,
I decided to do this post because when I was planning my operation I couldn't find any decent information on the procedure. Only a few comments here and there and I have to admit, I was scared shitless. This is just kinda to describe how the operation works, what it feela like and what to expect.
Sorry about the formatting, I'm on mobile.
I was diagnosed with Keratoconus early 2015, round about February, when I went to retest my eyes for new lenses. I was pretty stressed before the diagnosis, since my right eye seemed to be detiorating quite fast, and I then got the bad news. I was 20 at the time.
In May 2015 I was told that I had to get cross-linking done. I had looked up Keratoconus and did some research, and so this wasn't much of a surprise. I was under the impression that it was only in my right eye, since it was so poor compared to my left, but I was scheduled to have both eyes done on the 6th of June.
I arrived at the eyeclinic early that morning. My mom and my brother came with, to help me move around afterwards. I sat at a waiting room, completely surrounded by pensioners, and I felt so terrible, my eyesight deteriorating so badly, and I was still at such a young age. They gave me a sandwich and two pain pills, even before anything started. I was then moved to the OP room. The nurse told me to sit on a chair and she began dripping this blue-turqoise numbing liquid into my eyes. I sat there for about 10 minutes getting drops every minute or so.
After 10 minutes my doctor came in and I was askes to sit at a bench. There was this flashlight aparatus that I had to look into, while he scraped my epi off. It only felt like a small tickle and this wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined, but I'm guessing those pain meds were doing some major work. After that he left and I was instructed to lay on the operation bed.
This is where the fun started. The nurse hooked this piece of equipment into my left eye that kept it open. I can describe it as scissors with two hooks that kinda just go under the eyelids to keep them open. She then started dripping the riboflavin into my eye and I was asked to look into a UV light, placed above my head, for 30 minutes. Every few minutes or so she would either drip some riboflav

Why is there a difference in the confidence intervals calculated by SPSS compared to SAS and Epi-Info 7?
I'm writing sample code for colleagues in developing countries who will use it to analyze a multi-stage, cluster-sample survey that measures the prevalence of infection with soil-transmitted intestinal worms. So far, I have used three of the software packages they might use: IBM SPSS Statistics (I have version 24, release 24.0.0.0, 64-bit edition), SAS (Iβm using version 7.1.5.2) and Epi-Info 7 (a software package from CDC; I have version 7.1.5.2).
The survey produces equal-probability samples from each of the three target populations. The key parameter being estimated is the percentage of each population that is infected. Estimated population totals are not needed.
In running the code Iβve written, Iβve noticed a small but consistent difference in the 95% confidence interval between SAS and Epi-Info, on the one hand, and IBM SPSS on the other.
In the interests of simplicity and because the FPC is unlikely to have a meaningful impact on precision, Iβve done the analyses in SAS and Epi-Info providing only the stratum and cluster variables as sample design information. Iβm assuming the software uses the βultimate clusterβ approach to variance calculation. It makes no difference in SAS and Epi-Info whether I include a weight statement. Results are the same (disregarding population totals) if I leave it out, set it equal to 1 for all records or set it equal to 1,000 for all records.
To conduct the same analysis with SPSS, I pressed βFINISHβ after providing the analysis plan with the required design variables (stratum, cluster and weight). Unlike SAS and Epi-Info, SPSS requires a sample weight variable, and if weight is set to 1 for all records, no design effects are calculated. Therefore, I created a weight variable with the value 1000 for all records.
For each of the three datasets, the SEs and design effects with SPSS were the same as with Epi-Info 7 and SAS. However, the 95% confidence intervals with SPSS were displaced a little higher for low values of dichotomous variables and a little lower for high values. Hereβs a typical example, for the yes/no infection variable (point estimate 3.9%, for βyesβ): 95% CI with SAS and Epi-Info 1.6%-6.2%; with SPSS 2.2%-6.9%. For βno,β point estimate 96.1%, 95% CI with SAS and Epi-Info 94.3%-98.0%, with SPSS 93.1%-97.8%.
Iβm wondering if the changing the analysis syntax in SPSS would make the CIs the same as with SAS and Epi-Info 7, or if SPSS calculates them in a slightly different way. Tha

Epi Jack Casady info wanted
I've been thinking about picking up an Epiphone Jack Casady recently. However, I've had issues in the past with the thickness of (semi) hollowbodies and acoustics. I don't like the way they bite into my right arm.
Can anyone comment on the thickness of the body on this model, or the overall comfort factor in playing it? I'm unlikely to find one to check out "in the flesh" locally before purchase.

Epi pens info (adrenaline anti allergy shots)
I spoke to my pharmacy finally. You can buy one-use epi pens at any large pharmacy. They are β¬50 without a prescription.
They can also sell you the self loading version but they need to know (have proof) what dosage you need. Ie old container, copy of prescription etc those range from β¬25 to β¬100 with out a prescription.
They did say that if you have a valid prescription for your country, speak to the consulate as they may be able to obtain a free epi pen for you, should you have a valid reason for not having one ie airline damage, already used etc.
Hope that helps someone.

Just in case anyone else wants to know if you need an epi pen right at the beginning of your trip- you will still definitely trip.
Due to non mushroom related allergy ( I ate something else that unknowingly contained an allergen... I swear cookies will be the death of me) and ended up needing to use my epi pen. It just so happened to be right at the beginning of the trip and I was disappointed because I thought it might stop the whole trip. I hadn't found any info on allergies, epi pens shots, and still tripping. But yeah you can still trip and have a great trip too.

SERIOUS: This subreddit needs to understand what a "dad joke" really means.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
