A list of puns related to "Emmanuel Acho"
What do you want most vs what you want now.
Emmanuel Acho is the host of a You Tube series called βDifficult Conversations with a Black Manβ and now author of a book with the same title. He has been on numerous excellent podcasts like Dr. BrenΓ© Brownβs, and Iβve heard him facilitate actual difficult conversations very well. The only difficult aspect of this 26-minute podcast was the fact that he appeared to be charmed by these two cuckoos and sugar coated the concept of cultural appropriation to make them comfortable. One tiny silver lining was that he uses peopleβs first names a great deal when speaking with them, so he called Hillary βIll-AIRY-uhβ like 20 times. Also, Hillary was using the light to medium Spanish accent with full baby voice, so this was a labor of love, Pepinos.
Β· From the beginning to 18 minutes in they talk about race in the Black/White binary and the Baldwins as privileged White folks donβt have much to say. Then, in response to Achoβs comments about the general tendency of White and Black folks to interact with members of their own race due to systemic racism, Ill-AIRY-uh perks up:
Β· Hillary (18:26) I think also people are afraid of the mixing or immersing themselves because they donβt want to be labeled as culturally appropriating.
Β· Acho (19:50) [Talks about integration and people gravitating to each other because of their shared history and experience] Cultural appropriation is the most difficult concept to explainβ¦The fine line of cultural appropriation is citing your sources [goes hard with a metaphor of 3 tricks people use for writing papers: increase font size, bring in margins, and use lengthy direct quotes. Hillary crows βYes! Yes!β & cackles.]
Β· Alec (20:44) Youβve made my wife smile more than Iβve seen her smile in the last several months, by the way. Thank you for that. (Is it bad that it makes me happy that sheβs been pouting for months?)
Β· Acho (21:02) If you quote another author and you donβt cite your sources that is called plagiarismβ¦ Cultural appropriation: if you want to borrow a Black hairstyle, donβt attribute the Black hairstyle to Bo Derek. Understand the Black hairstyle is actually a West African hairstyle of Fulani braids. [Keeps going in this vein with more examples and puts Kim Kardashian on blast. Sir, the White lady with lip injections and a fake tan is RIGHT THERE. ] *Why, Hilaria, are lip injections one of the most highly sought-after things in California and America? The same thing that Black people were being mocked,

Just curious what yβallβs thoughts are on how Emmanuel Acho is doing at hosting the AFTR tonight?
This man killed the game. Iβve seen his YouTube series, and honestly, bless him. Nothing but total class and grace. I know Iβm a first time watcher this season, but are yβall gonna come for me if I want him to permanently replace Chris, cause β¨h o n e s t l y β¨ π₯΅
I loved Acho as an Eagle, and he always had funny tweets and takes about the team. Myself and many others felt like he could have a great career in media. But... wow. This guy not only has his own FS1 show, he is hosting episodes of The Bachelor, appearing in national LinkedIn ads, and I'm sure plenty more. What an amazing breakout for the Eagles' former backup ILB. Can't wait to see where he goes from here because it seems like this is only the beginning.
If you had the chance to submit a question that Emmanuel Acho has to ask at AFTR, what would it be?
Note: The question can be asked to anyone who will be at AFTR (Matt, Rachael, Bri, Michelle, Rachel Lindsay (if she makes a surprise appearance in-person or via zoom), and Chris Harrison (in the event they actually allow him to show up))
My Question (to Rachael): Moving forward now that the show is over, how do you plan on continuing to educate yourself on how to be a better ally to the African-American Community? What specific actions do you plan on doing?
