A list of puns related to "Emilie Autumn"
I dunno if anyone here remembers the song Gates of Eternity from Attrition? Around partway through the song features Emilie's vocals and violin playing, but I cannot find this version of the track anymore and the uploads on Youtube/Spotify etc do not contain Emilie's voice anymore.
Is there any way I can find the original song?
I've been trying to find anywhere to listen to the whole musical, but it's nowhere to be found. Can someone help me?
Is there such a thing? I have a cover by a band called "Spiritual Front" that was on the 2007 album Liar/Dead is the New Alive, but the friend who gave it to me says that isn't the same cover and that it sounds completely different. They insist the cover was done by Dope Stars Inc. but I can't find any mention of this existing anywhere. DSI did produce other songs on the album so maybe she's just confused? She swears they sound nothing alike. I've searched for every variation of "thank god i'm pretty cover" "emilie autumn cover" and checked a bunch of discographies.
These are the lyrics. Emilie is also a poet.
On February 26, 2003 actress, writer, and performing artist Emilie Autumn Liddell, known professionally as Emilie Autumn, released a physical copy of her first full-length album, Enchant. The original release of the album contained an armchair treasure hunt that supposedly lead to several costume pieces made by Autumn herself. The rules read as follows:
>Everything you need to solve the puzzle and retrieve the treasure is contained within the album jewelcase. Use the puzzleboard to begin your journey towards the Prize: the Wings, Ruff, Fan, and Sceptre of the Faerie Queene Herself. A priceless collection of artworks, the Queene's raiments are encrusted with hundreds of genuine crystals and wrought entirely by hand in the fae tradition.
>
>Look, Listen, and Trust your instincts.
>
>These enchanted objects may soon belong to you!
>
>The Rules: The game begins upon the release of the enclosed album and will continue until it has been solved, with the prizes going to the first person to solve it. Anyone may play the game regardless of age or nationality.
Autumn has only given two hints to the puzzle's solution, though both were on her now-defunct forums. In these hints, she stated that fans who understood the 1979 Kit Williams book Masquerade should have an easier time solving the Enchant puzzle, as the book is considered to be the origin of the armchair treasure hunt genre and will teach one's mind "how not to work" in relation to her puzzle. The only other hint that Autumn gave in regards to the puzzle is "I really want to have a tea party, but I just don't have the time...Time...Shakespeare always capitalized it..."
Unfortunately, many of the hints and proposed solutions have been lost since Autumn's website deleted its forum section. Through the forums, fans-turned-cryptographers were supposedly able to reach the following conclusions about the puzzle:
I discovered Emilie via YouTube about 7 years ago on YouTube watching her do an electric violin solo. I went on to listen to Asylum, then Enchant, and was so enamored by her uniqueness, aesthetic, and talent. Iβve showed her to my friends yet they donβt really react too much. Sheβs one of my favorite musicians ever and I know success isnβt defined by numbers and it shouldnβt me, but it bewilders me that more people donβt enjoy her. Also whatβs your favorite Emilie Autumn song ?
Huge bug. Game broken.
This isn't a bad thing. Musical influences have to come from somewhere, but when I listen to Billie Eilish's music, I hear a more mainstream version of Emilie Autumn.
I have listened to Emilie Autumn for years, and always enjoyed her music, but recognized that some factors would never allow her to go mainstream (in particular her vocal styling is very abrasive).
I'm glad that the spirit of Emilie's music has been used, and is receiving such wide success!
For reference, here is one of Emilie's more well known songs: https://youtu.be/IpJkCti8IL0
I love both of them a lot, and I think if done right, their styles could actually blend really well.
