My DXR12s susceptible to electrical buzz?

Hey all. I have two Yamaha DXR12s that I use for FOH with my acoustic 3 piece and as monitors for the 4 to 6 piece. They are great speakers. Got them second hand. However, I have noticed that they buzz quite regularly. While I am no expert it seems like a power source issue. It doesn't happen every venue but there is noise there about half the time. I think I have ruled out all other variables as changing the cables, desk, power extensions etc has made no difference.

What would the common culprits of something like this be?

Meet the 2022 Class - WRs

Meet the 2022 Class - WRs

You can find my post about the 2022 QB class here

and you can find my post on the 2022 RB class here

and you can find my post on the 2022 TE class here

As the season comes to a close and the in-game film stops rolling, it’s really time to see what this draft class has to offer and what you should be looking for to strengthen your roster.

I want to start this by laying to rest what many people here have been told:

THIS IS NOT A BAD DRAFT CLASS

Many people are coming around and I have definitely seen the pendulum swing toward the right direction. This is a DEEP class, loaded mostly at WR. But there are still some top end players I like at QB and RB as well as some second rounders I will be happy to take a chance on. Do not let anyone tell you that just because the top end talent isn’t as high as previous years that means 2022 picks are trash.

The way I have set this up is through a tier list. As I’m sure you all know, tier based drafting is the only way to draft in any circumstance. My tiers assume best possible landing spot at the NFL Draft and are divided by where I would be comfortable taking them in a super flex rookie draft;

  • S tier - Top half of the first round
  • A tier - First round
  • B tier - Second round
  • C tier - Third round
  • D tier- Fourth/someone to monitor after the draft

Oh boy this is the hotly debated part of the draft and I am ready for it! I honestly love this crop of WRs. From first round to fourth round there is value and there are play. makers. I've got some chalk here and there but I've definitely got some heat lined up in my rankings and tiers too. So sit back and grab some popcorn or sit up and get the debating fingers going because this should be fun.

  • S tier - Treylon Burks, Arkansas; Garret Wilson, Ohio State; Jahan Dotson, Penn State; Drake London, USC; David Bell, Purdue;

  • A tier - Jameson Williams, Alabama; Chris Olave, Ohio State; George Pickens, Georgia

  • B tier - Jalen Tolbert, Southern Alabama; Romeo Doubs, Nevada; Wan'Dale Robinson, Kentucky; John Metchie, Alabama

Pumped - a standalone HWTF story with mild cyberpunk elements

A voice echoed through the mixed sensory mindscape that bridges the gap between sleep and wakefulness. My eyelids swung open like twin ship hatches to reveal a drool-covered desk blurred by the lenses of unpowered VR goggles.

"Robert," came a disembodied militant tone from behind me. "Robert, wake up."

It took a few more seconds to recognize Dad's voice, but everything came into focus once I did. I must have fallen asleep playing videogames when I was supposed to be studying. I hoped that Dad didn't know. His face said that he did. "I must have dozed off while watching my Algebra lessons," I said, thinking it better to live in certainty than hide in doubt.

One of Dad's eyebrows almost kissed his hairline. "Algebra lessons, eh? When did they add that to the Babe Raiders RPG?"

He was only a couple centimeters taller than me, but from my sitting position he looked like a giant. His oil black and slicked back hair refused to budge, though the ceiling fan tried its best. Likewise were his thick eyebrows and mustache foliage anchored firmly to his cliff face. A tiny golden cross hung on a chain about his neck (hopefully reminding him that this sin of mine had already been forgiven).

My fear had caused me to overanalyze and lose track of time. Thinking whole minutes must have passed, I scrambled for an answer to Dad's question and ended up spouting a joke in the hope of defusing the situation. "In the Solve for Sex expansion."

I caught sight of an embryonic smile before Dad flushed it from his face. "At 13 you can afford to be cute, but at 30 they'll knock the shit out of you for it. Think about that as you're washing up for supper."

I neither thought about it nor washed up.

Supper wasn't anything special: reheated, week-old quesadillas filled with lab-grown steak from Garland's local vat food factory. Even though we had to use the whole bottle of hot sauce to make them edible, Dad still claimed victory in "woman's rightful domain." We ate across from each other in the kitchen's diner style booth (restaurant chic being very fashionable when our suburb was built two generations ago). I couldn't help staring at the empty spot on Dad's side.

"Mom messaged me earlier that she's working late tonight," said Dad. He folded his napkin, wiped his mouth with it, then crushed the napkin into a ball. "I honestly don't think she intends to worry us Robert." He took his finished and my half-finished plate to the sink. "But intentions aren't results. Shower up an

SERIOUS: This subreddit needs to understand what a "dad joke" really means.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Respect Gamera, the Friend to All Children! (Gamera, Showa Era)

#Respect Gamera, the Friend to All Children!

>Little boy chorus Japanese theme song

>Far groovier American theme song

###Biography

A giant flying fire-breathing turtle from the ancient Atlantean continent. Awakened in the sixties from his millenia-long slumber by a nuclear explosion, Gamera rose from the ice of the Arctic to rampage across the world once more. Gamera started off as a bad guy, wrecking Tokyo until he was tricked and launched into space. But after he returned, he gradually became more and more heroic and developed an affinity for children... not in a weird way though. Across his many adventures, Gamera has traveled through space, befriended several annoying Japanese kids, and duked it out with the weirdest kaiju you can imagine.

###Thread Guide

This thread covers the eight Showa era Gamera movies. All footage used is from the original Japanese versions. Note that the cheaper movies like to re-use footage of fights, and I've ignored these "duplicate" feats just to save space unless the feat is changed in some way by the new editing. The eighth film is sometimes theorized to feature a different Gamera or be set in a different continuity due to a weird subplot involving a boy who thinks his pet turtle turned into Gamera, but details in the movie itself and external material cast doubt on that. It's also just 90% stock footage from the previous movies, so I'm just going to include the few original feats here regardless.

Hover over a clip to see what number movie it's from. Some statements are also sourced from the official Gamera website, old official guidebooks, and newer material published with DVD re-releases of the movies.

On the structural features of compounds displaying dielectric switching

One of the hot areas in the dielectric materials research is the creation of porous coordination polymers with the ability to control dielectric permittivity based on the choice of linkers and metal nodes involved. The ultimate goal is the development of coordination polymers with tailored properties for possible applications like piezoelectricity and ferroelectricity as well as mentioned in the title switching of the dielectric response.

The assembly of components for electronic devices motivates the research on materials with reversible electric response changes on account of their extensive application in the fields of data signal processing, ferroelectrics, piezoelectrics, and the like.In this regard, it is common knowledge that switchable and tunable dielectrics, due to their convertible dielectric properties between low and high dielectric states (commonly known as dielectric switching), are performing a significant role in the field of optoelectronics. Moreover, switching can be focused not only on the dielectric property but also can touch upon nonlinear optical responses.

Switchable compounds, which can exist in two different stable states with different physical properties of optical, magnetic, electrical or mechanical origin are extremely useful as the next generation of sensors, and in so-called smart applications. Although it may sound counterintuitive, the switching of physicochemical properties of compounds is not a rarity. Indeed, many materials that feature hysteresis-like loops of physical properties, like magnetic susceptibility hysteresis loops or P-E hysteresis loops observed in ferroelectrics can be considered β€œswitchable”.The research on bistable materials has been extended recently to molecular compounds that exhibit bistability at the same time in several physical channels, including electrical, nonlinear optical, magnetic. This allows more flexibility in the design of devices.

Ferroelectric materials exhibit electrical polarization that is spontaneous and bistable and which is able to be altered by stimulus of an electric field. They are excellent systems to study materials that have many switchable physical properties since Ps can respond to external stimuli to produce numerous properties, including piezoelectricity, pyroelectricity and second harmonic generation. Recently, the discovery of molecular ferroelectrics has generated immense amount of attention, and a handful o

Deep Thoughts on DVN

The Conference

I was able to attend the DVN conference in Frankfurt, Germany earlier this week. Rather than publish information while directly at the conference, I wanted to have some time to review my notes and thoughts in order to create a more thoughtful and complete writeup. So, with an homage to Jack Handy, here are my β€œdeep thoughts” on the DVN conference.

I got the impression the conference itself was not generally a "deal" conference per se, as much as it was a networking, mind-share, and marketing conference. The founders of DVN (Driving Vision News) originally started the conference which was focused on driving in poor lighting (nighttime) and bad weather. I got the impression it was mostly around head light technology, and again focused specifically around bad weather. Of course, LiDAR plays a broader role in both nighttime and poor weather driving; as such the conference creators are evolving and expanding. Most of the attendees (about 170) at the conference had deep knowledge of their particular area, and a high percentage were from Germany. For instance, many of the attendees that I met had a PhD in such areas as material science, or electrical, optical, and mechanical engineering. I got the impression that the actual buyers were not generally in attendance, but many experts and high-level influencers were there. Based on my experience attending conferences in a different market, this is exactly what I expected the conference to be. The format for the conference were presentations and panel discussions (Q&A). These were all done in one room, the networking at the booths was done at breaks and during the lunches and cocktail hour. There was also a networking dinner on Monday night.

The conference started at 1pm on Monday. I arrived around 12 noon. The lunch buffet was in the conference hallway, which is also where some of the sponsor booths were located. It just so happened that Microvision's booth was right next to the buffet. I saw a gentleman manning the Microvision booth and immediately introduced myself, it happened to be Dr. Luce.

Dr. Luce

We chatted for 20 minutes or so, during which time we were joined by a new hire - well actually, he does not start until February, but had taken some time away from his current job to begin his education process for Microvision. I won't mention his name, but he is based in France. Hiring in Europe is very different than the US. You can’t just give a two week notice to your

I have finished Frankenstein. Here are my thoughts:

Victor Frankenstein was raised in utmost privilege: his every need and want was met, his parents did not command him but exchanged with him a compliant and attuned respect, his education impassioned him to learning, and as eldest he was the "destined successor" of his noble father, Alphonse Frankenstein.

>Such was our domestic circle, from which care and pain seemed for ever banished. My father directed our studies, and my mother partook of our enjoyments. Neither of us possessed the slightest pre-eminence over the other; the voice of command was never heard amongst us; but mutual affection engaged us all to comply with and obey the slightest desire of each other.

Such an upbringing many people would kill to have, but it gave him a crippling blind spot: he didn't register the reality of evil until his own hands fashioned the creature whose later evil would unravel his entire world. Surely he knew of evil from books and news, but he didn't cite any encounter with evil while recounting his formative events. As such, he was ill-equipped to understand the ramifications of creating the creature, whom I'll call Adam per his wish:

>Remember, that I am thy creature: I ought to be thy Adam; but I am rather the fallen angel, whom thou drivest from joy for no misdeed.

While reading, I took detailed commentary notes: Letter 1 - Chapter 1, Chapter 5 - Chapter 11, Chapter 12 - Chapter 20, and Chapter 21 - Chapter 23.

Victor named several events that opened him to being "attacked by the fatal passion" that compelled him to create Adam:

  1. His mother died when he was young. Victor never recovered from the loss, described as an "irreparable evil", despite his heart no longer bleeding. His aim to conquer death was motivated by his inability to accept his mother's passing, as seen when her death is on his mind in his nightmare hours after bringing Adam to life:

>I thought that I held the corpse of my dead mother in my arms; a shroud enveloped her form, and I saw the grave-worms crawling in the folds of the flannel. I started from my

Keeping the devices in your store running smoothly

I've seen a lot of you guys complaining periodically about the quality of the devices in your store, so I felt the need to make a post about what I've learned makes the devices work the best, and what damages them.

β€’At my store we use TC57s, and google play suite apps are generating a ton of error logs, alongside and MyDay + ePick + RFID + Pack and Ship 2.0 do not clear their own history, after a couple days the devices start to slow down to a crawl. Just clearing the cache and NOT the data on those four apps, then restarting the phone, make them work like brand new (for a few days).

When the phone first boots up, if you press the home button a bunch, it will go to a normal android home screen, from there clear the data of the google play suite apps. On devices running Android 6 or older, if you press the multitasking button with the desired app open, tap the " i " on the titlebar of the app, this will open the settings for that app. Scroll down on that screen, then tap clear data OR clear cache.

On devices running Android 6.1.2 or newer, if you press the multitasking button with the desired app open, tap the apps icon on the left of the title bar, this will reveal the " i " icon on the right side of the same title bar, tap the " i " and this will bring you to the settings for that app. From here, go to storage, then tap clear data OR clear cache.

Another thing I frequently see, is team members taking the battery out of a phone that is still on, without using the battery swap function. This causes random damage to the phones, including "Scanner error, please force close this app and try again"; the lock button no longer working, causing the phone to be unusable until it is woken up by being placed on the dock; scanner buttons failing (if you've ever used a device that when pressing one of the 3 scan buttons, the scanner rapidly flickers, or the button does nothing at all).

If you find a swolen battery, do not use it.

β€’As for the RFID guns, the RFD-8500 2D guns (without a laser scanner) need a firmware update to fix the connection issues. RFD-8500 1D/2D guns (with a laser) have a "feature" where if a device doesnt connect before the RFID gun goes to sleep (default is 1 minute of no activity), it will pair to a device and immediately unpair itself from the device.

Using the RFID app on your zebra to connect to the gun, when the gun first turns on, negates this problem the entire time you use the gun, or just turn the gun off

"Translation..." the scraping of metallic vocal cords was broken with fractured puffs of feeble air from its compressor etrenched where its belly used to be. The electricΒ thrumΒ of staticΒ indicated the servitor's processor was hard at work. The voice it produced was a fabrication and no more, the lobotomized vessels mouth lay open with slack jaw and eyes vacant as the cable that jutted into the back of the connection unit jolted as it scanned the vast archives of sacred knowledge. He shuddered as he made brief eye contact. The whites of its eyes matching clouded cataracts that looked around but saw nothing. The eyes themselves could have rolled back into its sockets decades ago and he'd be none the wiser. This one was a translator, a conduit for a thousand languages and thousands more long dead. The thick cable, slick with lubricating oil was loose on the back of its spine, the rest was a limp torso jutting out of the wall with swaying arms. Whatever remained within was the most critical to survival; the rest undoubtedly sold a galaxy away by the looks of sloppily stitched scars that still looked raw. He knew better than to wonder if its lower half still existed, enshrined and undoubtedly withered to sinew and bone. He offered thanks to the Emperor that steel wall panelsΒ  that composed the corridors entire length, miles long obscured its view. The cable clicking and popping with electrical energy, requiring a full reattachment. He considered calling a Tech Adept, eyeing down the poor excuse for life that dribbled before him but steadied his resolve. Time was short and personal sacrifice was required. He reached forward; the metal of his artifical hand and the heavy cable clinking like cups of hyper-alcohol celebrating some inane success. A sharp shunt re-inserted it.Β  Some life, if you could call it that, returned with a crank of neck muscles which electrically twitched and cramped with each contraction. He recoiled away lest skin contact occur. He had some time to spare as the servitor waded through legion of binary sequences and layers of digital vaults in search of its prize. He would rather gaze upon heretic scripture than that creature any longer so he chose the blank, never-ending corridor to gaze down. Miles upon miles of underground passageways that if he could see through the darkness, he would see the curvature of Terra itself.
