6 years ago it was critically panned for it looking inappropriate.. the age difference between Maddie and Shia.. with everything we know about Maddie and Sia now, and given how young Maddie was, do y’all see it as art, or inappropriate ?
When elastic heart music video first dropped, what was the media's opinion on it. Did people agree with Cathy? Was it well liked?
I was only 13 at the time, so I never really understood the buzz. Just thought that it was a good song.
I've always been very moved by this music video for Elastic Heart by Sia. Stumbled back on it today and spent time reading the comments, many of which just hit hard right now as I'm going through a tough time with my Q, wrestling with the idea of leaving.
Comments like, "My dad is a heroin addict. we both struggle with mental illness. This video is so emotional for me every time I watch it. I'm so glad it exists. Every time I come here it helps me accept the things I cannot change."
"The cage is a mental illness. Sia and her dad were trapped by the illness. Sia got out and tried to help her dad but she was too late he couldn’t get out."
I just feel like right now I'm the one out of the cage, trying like hell to get Q to come out with me - and I just know deep within me that I can't change anything in his mind - coming to accept that I just have to save myself. I’ve done everything I need to do. I have to protect myself now.

Appearance: A tall, 185cm-tall humanoid stand, with a slim build. Its body is colored with thick, purple and peach vertical stripes. So I’m a recovering addict, with 17days clean... iv had a life altering, epiphany, which was brought about by a near death experience, and then again and again, and again, (in less than a month!)things that were just to dmn ironic, to be a mistake!!!! So anyway... every line in this song reminds me of what my addiction has cost in lives, and self doubt, and hate....I see my friends gone... I see the regret that kept me down..... and a committed resolve to try to be free of my demons for the people who I owe and love. I can’t get through listening to it without a tear. I’v tried😟. I never got the full meaning of Sia's lyrics in Elastic Heart.
I’ve been listening to this song since it came out and I honestly don’t think I’ll ever get bored of it. I remember the massive hate that the music video got (understandably), since it was sus af. However, nobody can deny that this song is amazing and is Sia’s best release to date.
It just has to be one of his most impressive vocal performances. I forget who I heard say that The Weeknd uses his voice as an instrument in a way others don't/can't, and this song just shows that so well. I just really love this song and am shocked it's from a movie soundtrack. (In fact, many of his soundtrack songs are amazing.)
What do you think is his most impressive non-album performance?
I've been having Sias song in my head for a few days alongside listening to Alice In Chains and my brain decided "what if we combine the two??" And thus I now have a need for this to happen. I am thinking how well Laynes voice would have been with the emotion behind it, obviously not possible but maybe Jerry can do a good job or William.
