What do you prefer the early 2010's music or the mid 2010's music or the late 2010's music?

The 2010's had a huge transition in mainstream from EDM dancing pop to tropical EDM pop to trap music or trap influence pop. But I feel like it changed in 2014-2016 with streaming services coming along and it getting a heavy use. I do believe that mainstream music has left it's spark a little bit since the 10's but there is some enjoyable songs. From my opinion I enjoy some parts from all sides, I love the trashy party EDM type of dancing pop from the early 10's , the tumbler aesthetic songs from the mid 10's and the fun trappy turn up songs from the late 10's. But I'll say the early 10's are my fav because it's more nostalgic for me. Any thoughts? Early 10's, mid 10's or late 10's ?

PS- some songs aged like MILK lol...

AITA for inviting a Terran as my consort to my co-worker's life binding ceremony?

I ( Mrrau'keke, F, 23) was asked by my co-worker, Mig-Nak ( Greh, F, 157) to attend her and her selected's life binding ceremony. I asked if I could bring a consort, and she said that it would be acceptable. So, I invited Jake (Terran, M, 25), whom I have known for 3 cycles and have recently started get very close him. The problem is, when we made arrangements for dietary needs, it came to light that Jake is, in fact Terran. Mig-Nak became upset, saying that Terrans are dangerous, warmongering death worlders, and that I was being reckless and inconsiderate inviting him. I told her that Jake has promised to be on his best behavior, that I've known him for cycles and he'd never hurt anyone, but she insists that Terrans can't help but cause trouble and leave destruction in their wake. So, AITA?

Artists like Early SikTh? (or general music recommendations)

I absolutely love Sikth's first album, but everything else from them is kinda eh to me. I love the percussive vocals and proggy elements of it, but I haven't been able to find anything similar, except maybe Korn for the vocals, and even then i prefer SikTh's higher register. This sub really has been the best place for finding new music for me compared to others, even though it's favorite's aren't my favorite, I still enjoy them. I mostly listen to stuff like The Fall of Troy, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Mars Volta, Closure in Moscow, and (early) Foxy Shazam. Basically stuff thats arguably even metal but definitely not just rock. Hopefully that'll give a sense of the direction I'm coming from. My favorite sort of stuff is stuff thats extreme but not too low and sludgy, especially if its mathy and dancey, but I can enjoy pretty much any genre of metal.

Basically all the music I formed my identity around in my early 20s is boring as fuck now that I don't smoke weed.

I used to be a typical indie hipster thinking I was intelligent for listening to shit like Do Make Say Think, Prefuse 73 etc when I was 20 and everyone else liked the Black Eyed Peas or whatever. I also used to smoke mad weed back then and just listen to all the little components of every piece of music, never seeing the forest for the trees. I quit weed to get a better job (low voltage security systems, cctv and access control) and honestly all that old music I used to listen to is boring as shit. Even the other shit I liked, hardcore for instance just sounds fucking lame now that I'm not a teenage boy mad at the world. Growing up is gay.

[TOMT] [MUSIC] Early '90s rock band with a Jim Morrison-like vocalist

I remember stumbling upon some rock band from the early '90s ('90-'93, though I think the album was probably released in '90-'91 or so) that briefly came into public spotlight due to the frontman sounding (and I think even looking) like Jim Morrison.

IIRC the band released only one album before disappearing; I remember they had at least one music video, and the song that the video was made for might have had "fire" in the title, but I'm not sure anymore.

Thanks.

I miss music from the 2000's and early 10's

Something about it, the feeling. I miss the sound, the melody and how upbeat it used to be. Felt like something happened 2014 and just dipped. The streaming era and the overall digitalization must have changed it

Not saying music today is bad, but it felt more fun and catchy. I'm tired of this depressing era we are in right now in music

As a gen Z i also have a hard time looking up to an artist in my age.

Update: AITA for inviting a Terran as my consort to my co-worker's life binding ceremony?

Thank you, to everyone who responded to my first post, even the haters. I didn't have time to reply to you guys, as I had to go work (awkward), and I didn't expect my post to blow up like it did! Anyway, some of you raised some really good points, that I thought I'd talk about here. Yes, I probably should have told Mig-Nak about Jake much earlier than I did, but I really didn't think it'd be an issue since Sekmet V is considered a death world, and she still invited me. Then again, Sekmet V is only a Class 2, not a Class X, and has had several thousand years more to develop. Jake is very cultured. In addition to Galactic Common, he is fluent in Mau, Aru-Aru, and Grellian. He also doesn't turn everything into a political tirade. Some of you suggested letting Mig-Nak meet Jake before the ceremony. I think this probably the best way to handle things. I'll arrange for us all to meet for mid day consumption at a local restaurant, so she can see that Terrans aren't always dangerous killing machines. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks sapients of the extranet!

[TOMT][MUSIC][2000ish] It's a pop song with trumpet or horn (or something else, but definitely brass) intro. It is from the late 00s or early 10s, I dont quite remember. The intro is three equal long notes played on a pitch, then on a lower pitch and than on a higher pitch, than the first.

The intro is similar to the first few seconds Pink Elephants on Parade (djlack remix): Pink Elephants on Parade (djJack remix) - YouTube and the first two seconds of Madonna - 4 minutes: Madonna - 4 Minutes feat. Justin Timberlake & Timbaland (Official Video) - YouTube

Tried to find it for almost a day, but no results yet
