A list of puns related to "Doomsday Clock"
Every January, the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists give us a prediction for how close we are to apocalypse through the metaphor of a clock, ticking down to midnight. We have been at 100 seconds since 2020, but nothing has really improved, and many things have gotten even more dire. Russia is on Ukraine's border playing nuclear chicken with our senescent leaders. COVID is mutating unchecked in unprofitable nations. COP26 was dismal; we are responding to climate crisis by selling oil leases.
What do you think 2022's time will be?
A brief description for those who arenβt aware what this is:
> The Doomsday clock is a metaphor for threats to humanity from unchecked scientific and technical advances. The clock represents the hypothetical global catastrophe as midnight and the Bulletin's opinion on how close the world is to a global catastrophe as a number of minutes or seconds to midnight, assessed in January of each year. The Bulletin focuses on three main areas: nuclear risk, climate change, and disruptive technologies. What connects these topics is a driving belief that because humans created them, we can control them. The purpose is to equip the public, policymakers, and scientists with the information needed to reduce manmade threats to our existence.

Itβs a fairly long read, havenβt gotten through all of it yet myself, but figured it would be interesting to share and have a discussion about.
Btw I haven't read any DC comics before except Flashpoint and All Star Superman.
Like I mean every year the myth pedlars and fear merchants sit around and move the hand a couple seconds and shake their heads. It seems so dumb, who is paying for it. Itβs been 1 min to midnight for a decade it seems.
Iβm trying to catch up with dc comics and Iβm starting at the rebirth and watchmen stuff. Iβm currently reading red hood, titans, and teen titans. I plan on reading the Batman and flash rebirth comics and heroβs in crisis but idk what order I should read these comics in and if I should add any other comics to my list to prepare to read doomsday clock.
i did hard drugs and it revealed the future, if im wrong ill suck a cock and post it on forsencord.
Predict the doomsday clock in 2022.(It will be set the day after tommorow(01.20.22).)
WhenΒ DC UNIVERSE: REBIRTH #1Β landed in May of 2016, its final page sparked some major questions when the looming, nuclear blue shadow of Dr. Manhattan was cast across the planet.
It's all been leading to this. Each moment of Rebirth and beyond, culminating into the epic collision between the unstoppable force of the DC Universe and the immovable object that is the world ofΒ WATCHMENΒ as told by two masters of the medium: Geoff Johns and Gary Frank.
The announcement ofΒ DOOMSDAY CLOCKΒ rocked the comics world to its core. Not only was it a return to comics writing for Johns, but it represented the next step in the story he had kicked off over a year ago. Finally, weβd have a potential solutionβor at least, a new set of cluesβto the strange riddle laying at the heart of Rebirth as a whole. Not to mention the fact that it would be the first time ever that Watchmen's cast of heroes and villains would be officially brought into contact with the main DC Universe.
On second thought, perhaps 1986 wasnβt all that different than 2017. In fact, perhaps it wasnβt different at all.
While DCβs revisited the world of Watchmen prior to now, most notably in the 2012Β BEFORE WATCHMENΒ comic book event, this is the first time characters like Rorschach, Ozymandias and Dr. Manhattan have entered the DCU, and the timing has never been more adept.
There's no doubt that it's a big job. But if the first issue is any indication, uneasy Watchmen fans have little to worry about. Doomsday Clock continues a core theme set forth in Rebirthβlearning from the past to create something new moving forward. And "new" is the name of the game.Β From the shocking reveal in issue #1 of a familiar mantle being taken up by an unfamiliar face, to the introduction of brand new characters to the Watchmen universe, this story is all about turning what you think you know on its ear.
If the end really is here, itβs a hell of a way to go out.
Are there any other comics that continue Doomsday Clock?
