I am bipolar and dont feel that I can care for a child, especially by myself. I dont want to live with my parents forever.

I've gone to this place before. The people who work there are rough and not nice but after a year there when I was 17 I did okay up until now.

I think he deserves two parents who want him and can care for him.

I have been so depressed since the babys father and I have broken up that I spend days in bed. I know I could not raise a child in my present state of mind.

I want to have my tubes tied after this.

My greatest wish for the baby is for him to have two loving parents and a happy, healthy home.

My greatest wish for me is to someday be normal.

I’ve heard kids aren’t really at much risk but they simply become carriers of the virus and will pass it on to other vulnerable parties.

Jeeze. I’ve been trying to roll with the punches this whole pregnancy BUT this last week is starting to get me down. Just found out there’s a “no visitors rule” at the hospital currently. As my support person, my husband will he allowed to join me, and luckily we live far away from family so it doesn’t make a huge difference if the policy stays in place as is. I’m getting a little worried it will get to the point where even he won’t be allowed in for the birth with me... My job has essentially been closed for the next couple of weeks due to the virus (worked at a bar, and they’ve all been shut down by the government), so I’m at home trying to mastermind nesting because wtf else am I gonna do...I don’t mind spending a lot of time at home but I feel like I could go stir crazy eventually. Then today, the primary care doctor (for me and the baby) I was going to meet tomorrow called and said they were moving all appointments to after May 1...my due date is May 5...(ended up scheduling it for a week after the due date and I plan on calling them a couple of weeks before to give them an update on my status...) Not to mention we were in the tail end of renovating our master bedroom and finishing the baby’s room, and I’m not sure about having someone in to lay carpet during a time of social distancing...and we don’t have a car seat, stroller, or most things for baby yet AND I’M NOT SURE WE SHOULD BE SHOPPING NOW. Fuuuuuuuuuck. Thank you for reading my rant. What’s going on where you are?

A mid-wife crisis

I am seven months pregnant with a boy. I grew up with a single mom and three sisters, there were literally no men in my immediate family and most of my close friends are female. I feel a little unprepared. I’m married and my husband is a great guy so I know he’ll have strong male role model, but I guess I feel like I just don’t know a lot about mother-son relationships and raising boys so I was wondering if you guys had any advice for me?

My daughter was born in December, she’s almost 4 months old. I adore her, she makes me smile and laugh every single day - but taking care of a baby is much harder than I ever imagined it would be.

I always said I wanted to have two kids, and I feel conflicted because I don’t think I want to have an only child, but I can even wrap my head around the idea of taking care of a baby while also taking care of a child.

I know it won’t be this hard forever, but I seriously don’t know how I would handle it. I am already so short tempered with my dog, yelling at her when she’s playing loudly while I’m trying to put the baby down, and not paying as much attention to her as I should. I feel bad about it. I don’t want to ever be like that towards my current daughter now while taking care of a new baby.

Has anyone else felt like this as a new parent?

Did you get through it and decide to have a second? How are you feeling about your decision now?

Anyone decide after one they couldn’t handle another even though initially wanted two?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Almost everyone has been so supportive, and made me realize this is not the time to be worrying about this at 4 months in. I’m glad to know that I’m not alone, and that so many of you have made it out alive - and went on to have even more children after!

I chose to get on the pill after me and my boyfriend started to have sex. We use condoms, most of the time, but I wanted that extra bit of safety to protect me from the children. With my first pill it took me a month to realize that it was effecting my mood. I didn't realize it until right before my period when I had a massive mental breakdown and began having suicidal thoughts. For someone who has never experienced depression and really only cried twice a year this was a drastic change from my normal self. My doctor then decided to switch me to YAZ, as she claimed it was made for people more sensitive to the mood changes caused by the birth control. This went well for a while but I had begun crying much more, almost three times a week. The normal relaxed state that I maintained within my relationship became me crying and getting upset Everytime my boyfriend had to cancel on something. It also caused me to get sick in the mornings. I took it for six months. Now I'm on a new pill with less estrogen known as marlissa. I've been taking it a week and I already feel very very off. Is there something better out there for me? I have friends who take the pill for PMDD as it levels their moods out. For me it does the exact opposite. P.s I still can't believe they haven't come out with a study reliable enough to confirm the effects of birth control on woman's moods.

I swear, how does everyone not freeze to death without their Canada Goose parkas? I feel so bad for the people I see at the Christkindlmarkt (Christmas market for those who haven't been to the old country like me!) wearing Sears parkas. That reminds me, I need to donate my old TNA parka now that I've moved up from baby lawyer student to REAL baby lawyer!

I've got to go pick up coffee for the office (such an important job!) but before I go, have any of you gone to Spain to get merino wool for your tailor to make your leggings with? Merino sheep are from Spain, you know, and I want to make sure I'm getting the most ethical materials!

We recently moved into a condo and the rooms that we sleep in get very hot. The baby's room reached 30C/86F today (!) and ours was at 84. Obviously we're concerned about the baby's health first so I'm looking for solutions to improve the situation.

Here's some more info (hope the description is precise enough, I understand that a picture is worth a thousand words so if you'd rather see a blueprint I'll draw one quickly) :

EDIT: sorry if I didn't state it clearly but we're the owners.

• The condo has 3 bedrooms, the two that get hot are on the lower floor, they're next to each other. They're at the end of a short hallway, on the other side of the condo from the open concept living room.
• The third bedroom is on the upper floor, it used to be a mezzanine that was closed off (there are windowpanes opening on the living room below)
• All three rooms are facing South/Southeast. The condo is on the last floors of the building.
• The baby's room has a patio door, while our room as a medium size window, it could explain why the baby's room is warmer. However, there are blackout curtains in the baby's room that we leave closed as much as possible.
• There is a rooftop deck right next to that upper floor bedroom, the lower floor rooms are directly below that deck.
• There are 2 split AC's, 12000 BTU each. One is in the upper floor room, the other is 12ft up on the wall of the mezzanine in the living room.
• The outdoor part of both AC's (is that what's called a condenser?) are on the deck.
• The condensers are clean, so is the filter of the upper room AC. Couldn't find a solution to go check the filter of the living room AC (will probably need to find a ladder high enough but still compact enough to be stored in an appartment)
• There's also a ventilation system inside the house, the air intake is in a small bathroom next to the upper floor bedroom, it blows the air in ceiling vents in the two other bedrooms below.
• Between this ventilation system and the 2 equally powerful AC's, I think the system was installed so that one AC would cool the open concept living room, while the other would cool the 3 bedrooms. However, even after leaving the two AC's on auto at 72F and the ventilation system on for 4 hours, I fail to see any temperature difference in the lower floor bedrooms. Edit: the living room and upper floor bedroom are cooled just fine though.

What are my options to lower the temperature in the bedrooms please?

I have a friend from HS who recently lost a child during childbirth. I feel for her, especially since he was so wanted, but lately all she does is post pro life propaganda or reply to comments, basically bullying people into having children. It's insane and yes, she likely needs extensive therapy and is definitely going through PTSD, but it's ridiculous.

And that's my rant for the day.
