A list of puns related to "Dismember (band)"
As a side discussion, this is also a love thread of sorts to one of my favorite bands of all time, Dismember.
Back in the late nineties to early '00s, my friends and I were obsessed with everything melodeath. At The Gates, In Flames, Dimension Zero, Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork, Arch Enemy, Carcass, Hypocrisy, Edge of Sanity, The Haunted, Entombed, Gorefest, and Sentenced were some of our favorites.
We also were obsessed with Dismember. I loved Dismember because they often did play melodeath, but were also really brutal about it. Very chaotic drumming and playing, almost hardcore in a way, but also often as melodic as At The Gates and early In Flames were. (Their soloing often reminds me of the reverb-heavy solos on The Jester Race--very sweet and classically based, like Michael Schenker, one of my favorite classic rock guitarists, from UFO and Michael Schenker Group.)
They towed the line between Iron Maiden inspired twin leads and brutal staccato single note riffing, all with a feeling that the goddamn train is about to fly off the rails, almost like if Venom hailed from Gothenburg, Sweden instead of England.
And I almost never hear Dismember talked about in melodeath circles. I've heard people cite Dismember as one of their fave death metal bands, and one of the greats of Swedish death, but they absolutely have a few albums that I would rank on my list of top melodeath albums of all time, like Hate Campaign (2000). (They also, inexplicably, have a mostly death and roll album, Massive Killing Capacity [1995].) But all of their albums, even their earliest, have lots of melodic death strewn about.
Anyway, I'm looking for more bands that kind of walk this narrow line between brutal death and melodic death, bonus points if they have some minor hardcore influence (which I do hear a lot of in Dismember, unless my ears are going bad and I'm mistaken). Any ideas?
In the season finale, scores will be settled as Chuckyβs diabolical plan comes to fruition at a dangerous, public venue.
TL:DR; Dismember behaves inconsistently on enemies that have status resistance, making it deal less damage than it should. Also, Bane's Fiend's Grip deals one extra damage instance (13 instead of 12).
Dismember deals damage in intervals and is listed as having Dynamic Tick Rate, similar to abilities such as Flaming Lasso, Fiend's Grip, Shackles, etc. What this means is that when these abilities have their duration altered due to status resistance or debuff amplification, the damage tick rates also adapt. For example if you Doom an enemy with Sange, the total duration of Doom is reduced, but the damage ticks are more frequent and deal the same amount of damage. So, the total damage received remains the same, it is just dealt faster to account for the lowered duration of the spell.
With Dismember this is not the case though, for whatever reason. Status resistance seems to directly affect the damage that is being dealt, as you can see in the pics below:
Dismember used on SB with no items or abilities active
Dismember used on SB with maxed Bulldoze active
There is the same amount of damage ticks (6) and they happen more frequently, but they are lower in damage. On other heroes with similar abilities this doesn't happen; both the amount of ticks AND their damage remain the same. Examples below:
Flaming Lasso on SB with maxed Bulldoze active
Fiend's Grip on SB with maxed Bulldoze active
This Dismember interaction is either a bug or a major inconsistency compared with other abilities that use Dynamic Tick Rate. I can't imagine it's intended.
Oh, and I also happened to find out that Fiend's Grip deals an extra damage instance for what

I will probably end using the skin peeler tho, but wondering because I also enjoy some roleplay, I doubt so much that ANYONE would get into that thing voluntarily

I've always been interested in this case because the victim is my first cousin four times removed. There has always been speculation in my family as to if Frankie did it and if she did it alone.
The tragic events in the North Carolina mountains on the night of December 22, 1831 revolve around a 19-year-old husband murdered, an 18-year-old wife charged with the crime and an infant daughter left without parents. . That Frankie killed Charlie one cold December night in 1831 in Kona, N.C. is not disputed. But beyond that itβs difficult to tell where truth ends and myth begins.
No one knows exactly what happened that night, because the only people there were Charlie, Frankie and their 13-month-old baby, Nancy.
At Christmas time in 1831, Frankie went to Charlie's family, saying that he hadn't returned from a hunting trip. A search party was formed, but they found no trace of Charlie.
An olld man named Jack Collis was one of the first to get suspicious. He decided to check the cabin during a time when Frankie was out. He found bits of bone and greasy ashes in the cabin fireplace and under the floorboards was found a pool of blood, "as big as a hog liver." Charlie's head and torso would be found outside the cabin.
Frankie, Barbara and Blackston were arrested on January 9, 1832. On January 10, they were jailed Burke County, North Carolina. On January 13, Isaiah Stewart had obtained a writ of habeas corpus, saying that his wife, daughter and son were being illegally detained. Charges against Barbara and Blackston were dropped on January 17, but Frankie was held.
On March 17, 1832, charges against Blackston and Barbara were formally dismissed but Frankie was indicted for murder. There are several things about Frankie's trial that raise questions. Under the law of that day, defendants were not allowed to take the stand in their own defense. But why didn't Frankie plead self-defense? The answer seems to be that her attorney and her father Isaiah decided to plead her not guilty and make the state prove her guilt. This is generally believed to have been a fatal error.
On March 29, 1832 the jury judged Frankie guilty in a unanimous vote.
Frankie was freed from prison by someone who climbed in a window and used a homemade key. She cut her hair short and dressed as a boy. A posse caught her walking behind her father's wagon at the Tennessee border. Legend is that a posse member yelled "Hey Frankie!" To which she replied, " No, my name is

We're writing our criminology thesis right now, about two cases involving murder and dismemberment.
Now to the question: is there a term or word for a murder involving dismemberment? Is there a term for the perpetrator in such a case? There is a term in Swedish (styckmord, "dismember murder" and styckmΓΆrdare, "dismember murderer") but we need an English term for the abstract.
Haven't found an English equivalent in the literature. Sure we could write "murders involving dismemberment" and "murderers who dismembered their victims", but if there is a shorter term I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
I'm thinking of my next mystery for my players (in a world heavily based on Bloodborne) and wanted the idea of a monster that dismembers people, including players. If I show this particular ability beforehand, such as with the monster cutting off someone else's limbs, would that be fair enough warning that it would be okay to inflict upon my players? I'm trying to push them into difficult situations that press them into using luck points, and I thought that dismemberment would be great not only for shock value, but also as a game mechanic to incentivize them beyond just pure damage.
So in season 3 we see Emperor Jircniv present Ainz with the head of the noble that send the workers in his tomb and we also see Ainz make a death knight just from the head. So does that mean that Ainz can make more undead from a single dismembered body? Since he did need just head. Also if he cut a body into a lot of tiny pieces then he could make like 100 death knights from a single body right?
Btw when the title says 'Can i make' it means Can Ainz make, i made a mistake there.
Dismembering zombies is quieter than bashing and trains survival skill, and it won't wear out your weapon. But I can't figure out how to set autobutcher to dismember zombies instead of doing a quick butcher on them. I don't need zombie meat, I just want to lop off their limbs so they can't come after me again!
Out of nowhere the enemies were way easier to kill and knock over, dismember and stagger, I disabled all my mods and it still persisted
