A list of puns related to "Dinagyang"
Who else thinks that the festival can be skipped this year? Or at least broadcasted via online instead of gathering unwanted crowds on the streets.
Hi! I just want a confirmation. Both Sinulog and Dinagyang Festival are religious festivities, right? Pareho ring ginagamit ang Santo NiΓ±o kapag sumasayaw? And annually itong sine-celebrate (kung hindi lang dahil sa COVID)?
Hi people, I just want to ask tips/suggestions or any helpful information on where we can buy materials for costume making. We are going to represent a Philippine festival in our school for Linggo ng Wika, in our case, the Dinagyang Festival. We need A LOT of colorful feathers, beads, cloths, and anything that we could use as props. Please comment or message me if you have any suggestions ππ» Maraming salamat po!
This idea came to mind when I remembered watching a TV feature on Tomioka Dance Club a couple of months ago. I'm not sure if the same thing in some format exists for the kids joining the Dinagyang competitions though.
We just came from the Dinagyang festival held over the weekend and holy shit, the lengths these high school students go to perform for the crowd in Iloilo. As we were watching, I kept wondering things like what it takes to qualify for the dance group, how soon these kids practice, the choreography, the worksmanship behind the props -- basically, the drama behind the performances.
We watched both tribe dance competitions (Kasadyawan and Dinagyang) from the sidelines in one of the judging areas and from our vantage point, we could see the mayhem behind the backdrops, the 5-feet high jumps some of these kids have to make to reach a platform in time for the next sequence (we even found an injured kid being hauled by a pickup truck). We overheard one of the guests argue with a friend that it was better to be seated by the sidelines because from there, you could definitely see each costume change, each prop setup, and the sweat and the grit of each of the dancers and the propsmen. (Although I have to admit, some of these are way overproduced.)
Now, the documentary could follow 1 to 3 of the tribes (Ilonganon, the current winner; Bolabola, the 8-time winner, and another tribe) and show everyone what it takes to perform in the festival. The history behind the Dinagyang festival could be a quick Google search away, but I think it's also fair to put on some spotlight on the hard work these students do to put one hell of a show for the festival.
Hi! Whoβs gonna be in Iloilo this weekend? Or whoβs from Iloilo? Iβll be there this week. Any recommendations? Like museums? Restaurants? Souvenir shops? Etc.,
Letβs have fun as well. Not fun as in sex but fun like gala and all. LOL.
See ya!
...mmmm this is to prevent the members from joining or just watching the said event
Okay, I know, Dinagyang and places na hindi masyadong packed with tourists could be the worst combination but I'll go ahead and try my luck.
By the way, will art museums be open during this period? I'm guessing we really can't go to the usual go-to's ng tourists during this time of the year. Thanks for any suggestion!

Hello r/Philippines!
I'll be going to Iloilo visiting family in January and noticed it's the same time as Dinagyang Festival.
I tried to find some information regarding the actual events taking place but haven't found any of use. I only know generally of the Ati-Atihan parade. My mum hasn't been to Dinagyang either and when I ask family in Iloilo, I never get a proper answer.
Has anyone been and if so, what are the day-to-day schedule/events?
Salamat!!
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
