How's it going everybody I travelled to one of the film locations from Detective Pikachu, something I thought all us Pokemon fans would be interested in!
When I watched the movie I recognised it immediately and went straight out there to film some shots, I don't want to annoy anyone that isn't interested by dropping a link but if you'd like to check it out my channel name is "Chris Schieritz" and it's the latest video, even if you don't want to see the video look into a place called "Finnich Glen Scotland" or "The devil's Pulpit Scotland" it's personally one of my favourite locations over here because it looks so outlandish, it's from the scene where all the bulbasaurs show up to try and help Pikachu after he gets brutally injured and they take them to that sweet looking almost fairytale like area!

Just saw the film, and I'd like to mention that I know nothing about the game (I think) it's based on.
Anyways, We all knew by the trailers, that MewTwo, who looks bloody amazing in this film, would have some involvement in the plot...But after seeing it, I was delighted to see that his role wasn't like Wonder Woman in BvS: Dawn of Justice, He was pivotal.
So, There was this line, said by >!one of the docs of the corporation experimenting on pokemon evolution !< that was mentioning the aformentioned character, and I'm paraphrasing here...the line being >!"We obtained Mewtwo after He had escaped the Kanto region."!< and that made me think of >!Pokemon: Mewtwo strikes back released back in 1998., who's setting *was* in the Kanto region....So that does that mean Detective Pikachu is an indirect sequel to that anime film? !< The mere thought of it is pretty damned amazing , if you ask Me.
It's about time the world gets pokemon films...and good ones at that.
While last weekend was just a regular weekend in America sonic made $16,261,393 between Friday and Sunday while Detective Pikachu only made $13,416,259 even though it was memorial day weekend. On the Monday Detective Pikachu made $3,831,142 that means if Sonic can make $986,008 on Monday or better it will have beaten out Detective Pikachu.
Curently the numbers stand as following
After 17 days: Sonic $128,555,045 vs Pikachu $116,238,881
Total: Sonic $128,555,045 vs Pikachu $144,105,346
Sonic could hit $150 million by the time this is all over.
Few things to note.
- Coronavirus is starting to hit USA harder this could affect numbers
- All of these numbers are Domestic numbers so Canada + USA only
- Detective Pikachu has been doing much better between Monday-Thursday and Sonic has been doing much better between Friday-Sunday
- Sonic hasn't had much competition while Detective Pikachu had Avengers End Game come out 2 weeks before and Aladdin 2 weeks after release.
