A list of puns related to "Deflector"
I reckon y'all have every line in the movie burned into your craniums like I do, but here's the exchange between Hawk and Picard:
> PICARD: It looks as if they're building the beacon right on top of the particle emitter. Once all the transponder rods are in place the beacon will be activated.
> HAWK: Well if we set our phasers to full power...
> PICARD: No! There's a risk that we hit the dish. It's charged with anti-protons. We could destroy half the ship. We have to find another way.
What got me scratching my head tonight are the lines I've bolded. I'd like to know if I'm missing something, because the deflector dish suddenly sounds like an enormous, bright, flashing weak point sitting at the front of the Enterprise, and if I were an attacking enemy I'd definitely focus my phaser fire on the dish as opposed to basically any other potential target.
If a handheld weapon at close range is a risk of taking out half the ship... what would a photon torpedo do?
I'm prepared to accept this as a lampshade set in order to justify a kickass scene, but this certainly stretches my suspension of disbelief ever so slightly - that and about a dozen other silly little lines in First Contact. I love it anyways!
They don't start shipping for weeks. End for Feb for Bonfire, Early March for Ranger, and April for Yukon - which is what I have. Um I kind need it during winter... not spring.
Also how does Bonfire's already have 2 reviews?
In the original visual dictionary from 2002 for Attack of the Clones there's a line about Clone Troopers saying that because of their armor they "are able to march through deflector shield barriers that would incinerate even a shocktrooper", with shocktrooper meaning Mandalorian shocktrooper. Obviously this isn't canon anymore, but where does the idea of deflector shields incinerating people who walk through them come from? And are there any details on what Clone armor was supposed to be made of originally?
I'm sure this storm will hit us soon, but it's putting up a hell of a fight
edit: You fought valiantly, wizards machine in the tip of the Principal Building. But once again, the storm wins.

I used my new solo stove naked... no shield, don't have one. I do have an order for the heat deflector though, so I'm thinking maybe I'll never need the shield. What do you all think?
Hey has anyone's deflector plate warped so much that it's difficult/impossible to take it out and put back in when cleaning? This is becoming annoying to the point I need to get a new one. My silverbac is less than a year old so hoping it's covered.
I just checked the Solo Stove website, the ship dates are alreay into April! I see April 11th listed for Bonfire and Yukon.
When I ordered mine (Bonfire Model) it said shipping sometime in late February. I'm hopeful that it will ship early, I keep waiting for an alert either by Solo Stove or UPS/FedEx saying it's on the way.
Anyone have any shipping dates?
I actually got these for Xmas and been trying to post the pics for a couple weeks. The spam filter keeps killing the post.
I have a 2010 madza 6, and the cowl water deflector is now missing from one side. Will this cause me any problems? My car now looks like this: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180919/f3c35435d3a93423346f655b3f778589.jpg
I really don't want to deal with this MAACO any more I've brought the car in 4 times and they never fixed the original issue, and more things are wrong now. Thank you
I need a brass deflector my upper was designed without one... so Iβm thinking something like knights armament shell deflector but Iβm wondering if anyone knows of one that isnβt so expensive or has a 3D printer schematic that they could share?
About to put an order in for a new outback. Does anyone have the window Deflectors that can attest if they are worth it? I think it looks really nice on the car but for $200 I'd want it to do as advertised.
This applies mostly to the Keldon and Galor classes of ships, hard to say whether it applies to the Hideki given the different layout.
Either way, the forward Disruptor beam of these two ships comes from a large reddish structure in the front of the ship, and it has time and again been demonstrated to be a rather potent weapon, with Cardassians favoring frontal engagements against stationary targets, and even in mobile engagements favoring their frontal disruptor for everything except small fighters. The Galor class even has sufficient maneuverability to keep up with Jem'Hadar ships, so they have to resort to using secondary weapons only against the smallest of ships.
In terms of strength its clearly capable of putting a dent on a Defiant-class ship (albeit at the expense of not surviving the counterattack), and it can take out both Breen and Jem'Hadar ships in a single shot.
The idea of having a strong frontal armament at the expense of less secondary armaments isnt exactly uncommon in military hardware until now, though it never lived long. On ships it is decidedly rare, the M-Class submarine with its single 12 inch gun in a fixed forward mounting, only being able to elevate, coming to mind, as the gun was essentially intended as a replacement for then unreliable torpedoes, and a turret mount was neither possible for this type of gun nor necessary.
On smaller vessels however its quite common, especially torpedo boats often have torpedo launchers in a fixed forward position to minimize the space needed.
On land assault guns and other turret-less tanks and self-propelled guns also gained some significance in WWII, because it allowed for larger guns and low-profile vehicles, albeit at the expense of flexibility. In the cold war the flexibility ended up being valued more though, so the idea gradually died out again.
Back to topic, neither the Galor nor the Keldon has any other structure on the front that could be the deflector, though an argument for the half-saucer on top could be made, but the prominent red dish is just too similar to a deflector to be dismissed. Sure, a lot of starship designs seem to neglect having an obvious deflector, others have two (looking at Voyager), but in this case Im not folding so easily.
In the episode "Starship down" we learn that a deflector can be used as a phaser emitter in a pinch, but it burns out the deflector. Furthermore the deflector is commonly used to output large amounts of energy in a variety o
... keep reading on reddit β‘I have a 2019 Bighorn with the crew cab and Iβm trying to see which window deflectors yβall recommend. Any suggestions? Also, are there any hood deflectors worth putting on our trucks?
Hello all!
I have a KJ BJ2. I have two plate deflectors and two half moon grill grates that came with it along with the half moon griddle plate and the half moon cast iron grate. I also have an off brand 14β pizza stone. I canβt and donβt use all of these on one cook obviously and I often find myself piling the unused accessories up on either or both side tables trying to distribute the weight as needed.
Does anyone in this group have a good solution for storage of the non-used grates/plates? Iβm looking for suggestions for add-on storage or stand alone storage I can put on my covered patio near the grill that wonβt take up a ton of space. Thoughts?
