A list of puns related to "Davy Spillane"
Ben and JuJu getting the veteran's day off. Not sure I'm ready for JuJu to be old enough to get that courtesy day off.
Hoping this helps with doing mock drafts or off-season mocks with the Steelers, I have heard from a few users that they are tough to predict this off-season so maybe this will give some clarity. I remember this sub doing similar posts for each team last year so hoping to get that started again. βNeed levelsβ range from 1-5, with 5 being most urgent. No real rubric for these levels, just a quick and easy way to look at what is most important. Descriptions go in depth about what the need really is. *= cut candidate
QB: Need level 5
Under Contract: Mason Rudolph*
Free Agents: Ben Roethlisberger, Josh Dobbs, Dwayne Haskins(RFA)
QB is obviously one of if not the biggest need for the Steelers this off-season. We cannot go into the season with Mason Rudolph as the unchallenged starter. Going for Rodgers/Wilson doesnβt appear to be likely, as this roster has too many holes to be giving up the amount of draft capital it would take to acquire one of those guys, and the Steelers donβt typically make those blockbuster deals. A first round rookie (they have looked especially close at Pickett/Howell so far) makes more sense, and/or acquiring a decent vet QB like Mariota or Winston. If they acquire both a rookie and a vet, Rudolph could be cut to save 5M, but that is probably more my wishful thinking than an actual likely move.
RB: Need level 1
Under Contract: Najee Harris, Benny Snell, Anthony McFarland, Derek Watt
Free Agents: Kalen Ballage
Najee was just about as good as advertised in his rookie year and is going to be the workhorse back for the foreseeable future. If any RB is acquired, it would likely be a change of pace speed/receiving back to help lessen the load on Najee.
WR: Need level 2
Under Contract: Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, Cody White
Free Agents: JuJu Smith-Schuster, Ray Ray McCloud, James Washington
Steelers are at an interesting spot with the WR spot this off-season. They have their starters at X and Z, Diontae and Claypool respectively, but not much else under contract. JuJu wants to return and a reunion makes sense, especially with his market being depressed by his injury that kept him out most of the year. Ray Ray will also probably be back, the team loves him and heβs a quality return man who can provide a little spark in the pass game, and he will be cheap. Washington is as good as gone. This WR room could stand to add a true speed deep threat in the middle rounds of the draft, a guy that is a TD threat every time he tou
... keep reading on reddit β‘The cap for 2022 is projected to be $208.2 million, up from $182.5 last season. The Steelers will be over $34 million below cap in 2022 based on current roster liabilities, and with almost 9 million in carryover from last year, we would be looking at $43.7 million. From here I will give what I think is a very good possible outcome we could expect in the off-season.
Weβll start off by clearing a little more room by reducing dead money. Start with cutting Ben Roethlisberger, saving $7,755,000. Next we cut Eric Ebron, saving $2,928,000. The next move is a little controversial, but I think the Steelers would benefit greatly in trading Devin Bush. This would likely yield a 2nd round pick, as well as save $3,068,000 in dead money. If Bush isnβt seen as the long term answer at ILB it would be wise to get what capital we can now in rebuild while he still has rookie years on his contract. Finally, we cut Joe Haeg and Tyson Alualu, saving $2,600,000 and $2,500,000 respectively. This would put us at $62,576,000 before any restructures; a very generous budget.
Next Iβll discuss re-signing. Iβll start with the obvious, Minkah Fitzpatrick, who is obviously due a signature contract. Iβm no GM by any means so I will use a player of similar productivity or value to get my predictive numbers. Weβll say $16 million/ year for 4 years, similar to Harrison Smith. Next we re-sign JuJu Smith-Schuster. He is a great slot receiver who already has a good understanding of the offense. With his season-ending injury and a likely team friendly deal I will say we pay $12,500,000/year for 4 years, a similar contract to Corey Davis. Then thereβs Joe Haden, who has had quite a productive season for his age. He did not show much, if any, slow down in production. We re-sign him for $10 million/year for 2 years, an βold manβ extension of his current contract. Depth signings I would like to see are Robert Spillane for $1,500,000/year for 4 years similar to Nick Bolton. Also, Kalen Ballage for $1,300,000/year for 4 years, similar to AJ Dillon.
There are a number of free agency pick-ups I could see the Steelers making. The most significant of which being Terron Armstead. The Saints will not be able to afford him, and with him playing top 5 at left tackle itβs a no brainer with the capital at our disposal. I would say we sign him for $19,500,000/year for 3 years, a contract very similar to that of Ronnie Stanley. The next big grab for the Steelers is Donte Jackson. He is a zone cornerback

Me too, and because of that I spend a significant amount of my time analyzing five key matchups for every Bills game; Bills Pass Offense vs. Opponents Pass Defense, Bills Rush Offense vs. Opponents Rush Defense, Bills Pass Defense vs. Opponents Pass Offense, Bills Rush Defense vs. Opponents Rush Offense, and Bills Special Teams vs. Opponents Special Teams. After doing this I try to determine βWhy Buffalo Will Loseβ and βWhy Buffalo Will Winβ which ultimately leads me to a Prediction. Below I present 2021βs 1st iteration of this analysis for the Bills upcoming home game against the Steelers. Included is a scale to rank the advantage in each matchup from πππππ (Massive Advantage) to π (Minimal Advantage).
Why were the 2020 Bills able to achieve the best offensive passing season in franchise history? Was it because they had a QB with the talent to become the first player in NFL history with 4,500+ Passing Yards, 35+ Passing TDs, and 5+ Rushing TDs? Was it because they had a true #1 WR who led the NFL in Receptions and Receiving yards while finishing the season with 16 straight games of 6+ catches (an NFL Record). Was it because their slot receiver emerged as the best in the league at his position finishing just 33 yards shy of 1,000 on route to 2nd Team All-Pro honors? Was it because of an Offensive Coordinator who put on a master class in play calling leading to him being named the NFL Assistant Coach of the Year? Or was it a combination of all of them (and more) that facilitated this teamβs success, as opposed to just one βmakingβ the other(s)? The former is clearly the case with the Bills passing attack poised to be even more dangerous in 2021.
The journey back up the proverbial mountain begins in Orchard Park in front of 71,870 rabid members of Bills Mafia against one of the best defensive teams in the NFL, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Forcing turnovers has proved to be the Steelers key to success the past couple seasons finishing 1st and 2nd in doing so in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Key to this is

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes

But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.

My parameters are trying to go for what I would do, not what the team would do. I target players I got a feel for could be available in FA or in the draft process. I try to give realistic contracts to everyone I can.
So I'll per position:
QB: Ben retires in this offseason, leaving us with just Mason Rudolph. I cut him and re-sign Josh Dobbs, but its not for the reason that I think Mason is bad. I do this because I expected to draft a QB and I think Dobbs is a better veteran presence for a rookie to learn from. Ben saying he asks Dobbs constantly for his knowledge and opinion makes me believe Dobbs would be a better fit for a rebuilding culture. Also I think Dobbs fits Canada's scheme better. While I believe Mason is a better QB, they would both be backups and I dont want the backup to see any time at all.
RB: Nothing significant changes, bounced around the idea of cutting Derek Watt, but decided against it. Going into the draft I knew a later pick would be needed for depth.
WR: Hardest position to figure out, every WR signed small deals last offseason in the hopes of signing bigger contracts this season. Market is up in the air so I only signed two small contributors in Auden Tate and Ray-Ray McCloud. Bounced around the idea of signing WR Byron Pringle from the Chiefs, but that could still be an idea. Wanted to address this position in the draft. I don't expect to re-sign Diontae Johnson in 2023, and I chose not to re-sign James Washington for the belief that he would choose a team that would use him more, and chose against re-signing Juju in favor of addressing other positions.
TE: Pat is the TE1 now, but I wanted a backup. Addressed this in the draft.
OT: First big contract - I signed LT Terron Armstead from the Saints. The then 30 year old is a cap casualty from the years of Mickey Loomis over-spending, and is a top-tier tackle coming to the better Black-and-Gold on a discount deal relative to performance by way of his injury history. What you are getting in Armstead is someone who may miss time, but his performance while on the field makes up for it, the time he misses can be patched up to give LT Dan Moore more time to develop. I signed Armstead to a 3 year 45M contract. Big veteran presence for the young offense. I knew I wanted to add a RT in the draft, because I don't think Banner is a long term option.
OG: Austin Corbe
