A list of puns related to "David Carradine"
TIL Samurai Jack was created by Genndy Tartakovsk. Cartoon Network executive Mike Lazzo recalled Tartakovsky pitching him the series: "He said, 'Hey, remember David Carradine in Kung Fu? Wasn't that cool?' and I was like, 'Yeah, that's really cool.' That was literally the pitch." (en.wikipedia.org)
I just finished watching Kill Bill vol 1 and 2. I really love those movies, and I think David Carradine is pretty good in them (even if I noticed as I was watching it that he spends most of his scenes sitting down). I know they make jokes about him in BotW about the bad movies he's been in and the way he died, but I'm wondering what other movies he's been in where he was genuinely good.
Since I'm talking about actors that come up a lot in BotW, I might as well ask whether there are any unironically good Cameron Mitchell movies as well. My understanding is that he was in bigger movies earlier in his career than later on.
My Suggestions
A good friend of mine has a David Carradine story
We live in a city that is/was used in a lot of motion pictures (Close Encounters, Oculus, various terrible Steven Segall movies, etc.) and my friend used to work on them. David C was filming a scene in Future Zone, I think, (it's terrible) and he accidentally shot himself in the crotch with a blank. He locked himself in his trailer with a bottle of tequila for like 3 days and stayed blind drunk the whole time.
If you can find that movie, check it out. All of the car scenes show the same 4 blocks of Royal Street over and over. It's hilarious. If I'm wrong about the title, it's basically a cop whose son(?) travels back in time to help him. Lots of mesh tank tops.
Bonus: all of the car scenes show them driving the exact same 3 or 4 blocks down a street downtown. It was before our big "renaissance" in the mid nineties so the majority of the buildings are abandoned. Their big stunt was flipping a car in front of the old train station.
To most of you probably not a big deal. I was just super disappointed, especially since he said he LOVED that movie.
This happened during the sponsorship discussion for HBO when they were going on about Mortal Kombat.

Dan, it's not David Carradine but Christopher Lambert. The actor who played in the Highlander movies.

I know it was another era but, Lambert played Raiden.
The NEW Raiden is played by the same actor (Tadanobu Asano) who played Kakihara in Ichi the Killer. (As an avid fan of his though, I recommend the movie Mongol instead).

Dan, please don't call him "Jet Li" or something... or I might go bonkers. lol
At least, on Peacock he is. He was the host of Season 6, Episode 5: December 20, 1980.
They don't show his monologue or any sketches he was in.
I was only able to find this clip of him in the episode.
I watched every episode Seasons 1-5 on Hulu, and working on 6 on Peacock, and this is the first time this has happened. Although it has been pretty annoying that Peacock has cut out the musical performances too.
Edit: spoke somewhat too soon. The KFC sketch with Carradine is in the episode.
But he doesnβt show up until 17 minutes in out of only 27 minutes. So there is clearly a ton cut out.
