A list of puns related to "Curcumin"
Iβve read reports with conflicting information. This study seemed to indicated that the half-life was only 6-7 hours, but that it was not tested past the 8 hour mark, while this other study indicates it was still detectable in the brain after 96 hours, with the maximum level being at 48 hours.
Basically Iβm not smart at reading this studies, and am trying to time something with having the lowest/no curcumin in my system. I consumed turmeric (not in a supplement) 24 hours ago.
Any insight?
Both curcumin and boswellia have anti-inflammatory effects, so taking them several hours prior or after exercise will hinder/affect muscle hypertrophy?
So I just picked up some Curcuwin, at the recommendation of a good friend. Does anyone here use it? What effects do you get ? Nootropic or other effects. Thanks for the input
Which product is everyone using and seeing good results with?
Also what dosage is most beneficial to you
Listened to a part where Huberman mentioned that turmeric affected motivation. I feel like that is true because I hopped on turmeric for a bit and it was the first time in a long time that I started dreading going to the gym. I got off of it and now I feel like I have my previous normal attitude towards the gym. Was wondering if you guys have any alternatives to combat inflammation?
Took one pill two days ago and my flares dried up. I was having zero luck with turmeric and I donβt know the science behind the ties between curcumin and turmeric but apparently one is an extract of the other idk. All I know is it really works. Iβm letting yβall know just incase it may help someone out too!
Is this a good way to look after myself post jab?
Also is there a particular way I should be taking these ...like spacing them out. Perhaps one is better before bed or in morning? Anything I should be adding to the regime? Thanks in advance :)
I found that this supplement although curcumin sounds funny π, helped me a lot with inflammation in my legs and throat (i had a sore throat from cipro which was weird af as not many mention it) its been a week and i already feel the benefits of it since i never had it prior.
Peace out
Anyone?! Stay tuned for answers. Please. Iβm sick of overpaying for supplements.
Can anyone speak to the MAOI effect in curcumin, specifically the longvida formulation, and whether it's sufficient to be of concern when regularly taking prescribed stimulants?
Curcumin and anthocyanin inhibit pepsin-mediated cell damage and carcinogenic changes in airway epithelial cells:

Dietary polyphenols inhibit pepsin and prevent airway epithelial cell hyperproliferation associated with laryngeal cancer.

Guys please try Curcumin tablets! I use it with asacol for some months now and very satisfied from the results. Btw, get rid of stress as much as you can.
I took a curcumin supplement for 2-3 weeks four years ago and I remember it helping with libido and erectile function.
In the 'Research' section, there is a paragraph like this:
"According to a 2017 review of more than 120 studies, curcumin has not been successful in any clinical trial, leading the authors to conclude that "curcumin is an unstable, reactive, non-bioavailable compound and, therefore, a highly improbable lead".
I'm pretty sure that there are lots of RCTs/Meta analysis of RCTs that show positive effects of curcumin supplementation (some of which are published 2017 onwards).
Iβve been taking curcumin in the form of βgolden pasteβ periodically for the past year or so, ever since I found out that it was effective for my chronic iliotibial band syndrome pain and even seems to give me more energy when I take it daily.
For the record, golden paste is turmeric powder + ground black pepper + water + coconut oil heated to make a paste. I also add lecithin to this mixture to create an emulsion, making it much easier to work with (this way it can be easily dissolved in milk/water/whatever you like) and theoretically increasing the absorbability of curcumin.
Well, over time Iβve noticed that I seem to get sick much more often when I take it. Like this fall, Iβve been half-sick with colds five times now. Just one infection after the other. I can rule out covid, as Iβve been tested multiple times.
As I now know, research on curcumin indeed indicates that it isnβt just a potent anti-inflammatory, but it has immunosuppressive properties as well. (As far as I understand it, immunosuppressants are anti-inflammatory, but not all anti-inflammatory substances are immunosuppressive. Correct me if Iβm wrong.)
Interestingly, around the internet curcumin/turmeric is touted as something you can use to boost your immune system and/or treat symptoms of a cold. Apparently, itβs often used for this purpose in India as well. But it seems to contradict the research and my experience.
Have anyone else here experienced getting sick a lot while using curcumin supplements or turmeric?

In 2020, French authorities warned against the use of curcumin supplements during the pandemic because of its immunosuppressive qualities:
Hopefully this will help someone else. I have the worst food and sugar cravings. It is like torture trying to stop myself from eating everything and anything because I have no self control and I feel hungry no matter what - even if Iβve eaten a huge meal. Monday I ran out of my curcumin pills and Iβve been eating like someone twice my size. It has really made me appreciate them so much more and I will be picking more up tomorrow ! I usually get whatever ones are on sale.
At low dose it even improves erection quality and to a lesser degree libido, but WARNING prolonged intake of higher doses decreases libido, at least in my case.
Hi, first of all thanks for all the amazing people here and their help.
Keeping it short: I would like to know some supplements that work to reduce neuroinflamation and I have two questions:
What is the best type of Curcumin for neuro? I see that there are Meriva, Longvida etc. which type would you suggest?
If you have other supplements please tell in the comments
Thanks π
Iβve been taking curcumin for 2 years now, on and off for a few weeks at a time. Itβs the only nootropic Iβve heard thatβs great for neuro inflammation. I know thereβs other ones that do the same but curcumin seemed to be the best one Iβve heard yet.
Any idea of other nootropics that may do a better job for brain inflammation? Share your thoughts/experiences, thanks!
Edit: Holy smokes what a response from you guys! Sorry I canβt respond to everybody but just to let you know Iβm thankful for each and every comment on here. ..140 comments, Iβm still going through all of them lol.
Thanks for your time to give advice I hope other people see them as well. Have a nice day!
