A list of puns related to "Crouton (computing)"
Hi Folks,
Long time Chromebook user, first time poster on this subreddit. Despite that, I'm not super educated on Chromebooks like I am Windows PCs and Linux OS's.
On a windows PC, if I ever want to install Ubuntu or any Linux distro, I pop in a flash drive and have the computer boot to it. Is that not possible with Chromebooks? People are recommending Crouton, which appears to be a virtual box type way to run it. Cool, but why not just pop a flash drive in?
Also, question about processors. According to Google and other resources, it's not recommended running Linux on anything that doesn't have an Intel processor, because a lot of shit won't run. Is this correct? I have an Acer Chromebook Spin 311 which has a MediaTek processor (which I believe is Arm). While I assume Ubuntu will run, there will probably be a shit ton of issues (although not sure what exactly those issues would be).
So I'm probably a dumbass, so go easy on me lol. But what do you guys think? Thanks so much for the help btw.
So I installed Ubuntu 16.04 LTS onto an older chrome book I wasnβt using in the hopes of basically just running GIMP but Iβve run into a problem. I can switch to the Ubuntu os from a bash window but I canβt install anything or alter anything with ubuntu and thereβs very few commands that will work. I think itβs cause my computer sorta froze at the create user step and then created a user without a password which attempts to update or create a password give me the notice that there is no user but in the Ubuntu window it has the username and then says disabled next to it. I donβt know how to fix this if it is the problem though. Help?
I've worked really hard on finding lunches that are low carb, easy to prep, travel well, don't always need heating, and I enjoy eating multiple days in a row. I love salads but I am missing croutons so much. I know it seems silly but I've been struggling to find a good crouton alternative. I've tried a roasted chickpea but they didn't stay crunchy. I even put them in their own container to try and save them from the soggy leaves.
Any suggestions? Maybe I didn't cook the chickpeas long enough? I tried celery and it doesn't satisfy my crunch needs because it has no taste π€£
