Title says it all
They only accept like 65 students and my teacher told me that heβs only ever had like three students that he thought could get in and im one of them and man im just excited to start the home test already jdksbdnd
I only know one other person who applied to this school, and it doesn't seem to have much of a presence online either. Why not? It is ranked very high in most rankings and it is not too expensive, so why isn't it more well known? I know that it is small and exclusive and is known to be very challenging, but are there any other bad things? I am considering applying ED to Cooper, so I am curious to know if there are any other factors I should be wary of.
Thanks
What makes the engineering (mechanical) faculty stand out about cooper union?
I'm applying there and I really want to know if it will be a good fit for me.

I heard it has really good cs courses. Iβm thinking of applying there in ED, iβm international needing aid (not a lot)
So I'm in the middle of my sophomore year and applying for fall 2022. I have a 1390 super score sat. 3.0 high school gpa and 3.7 college gpa. I also have an engineering portfolio and was part of the robotics team in High school. I don't know exactly how hard it is to get into this school but is anyone transferring there as well?
This is really specific, especially bc I feel like not a lot of people have heard of CU, but I was wondering if anyone knew the format for submitting the portfolio. I know we submit it w the home test, but does anyone know if itβs submitted physically and/or digitally? I pretty much just wanna know if I need to print out my digital pieces for my portfolio bc id want to use the nice paper at my school and I would like to do it before winter break lol.
Also, when I went to a portfolio review and was explaining my process and meaning behind each piece, the reviewer said i should βdefinitely somehow include my processβ. Like, is there going to be a box I can fill out or something to explain each piece?
In my CS class today, the teacher mentioned Cooper Union as a good choice. They used to offer full tuition if accepted and now itβs only half, but thatβs still really good. Does anyone know what their CS program is like in comparison to other CS schools?
I want to apply to cooper union for my masters, and I've been looking through the application requirements when I got to the work experience requirement.
It said it's required to have a minimum of 1 year of work experience after obtaining a professional architecture degree, so pretty much ur bachelors. I'm expected to graduate some time in the summer, but application deadline for cooper union ends like 6 ish months later in January. Does that mean I have to take 2 gap years to fulfill my minimum 1-year work experience? How do I complete that requirement efficiently given the time restraints?
Hi,
Has anyone here transferred to the Cooper Union. If so what were your stats and ECs and from where did u transfer? I am looking to transfer to the Cooper Union as a sophomore.
Thanks
I THOUGHT IT WAS SUPPSOED TO BE ON APRIL 1ST BUT IM NOT COMPLAINING THOOO
very curious bc cooper union (ny) is a VERY good school
Voted the eighth-best college for STEM by Forbes, Fifth best college for Visual Arts by Niche, Ranked third in βMost Rigorous Collegesβ by Daily Beast, Located in the center of New York City. On top of that, every student receives a 50% tuition scholarship. Also, the college is planning on going back to being completely free within the next few years.
Iβm a junior currently researching colleges, and I couldnβt believe I hadnβt heard of Cooper Union before. I can understand why people might be deterred from applying to CU; the small student population and lack of a graduate program can be a deterrent for some. But overall, Cooper Union deserves more loveππ
For those who may have some insight -- how would you compare the engineering programs (and the experience in general) at Cornell, RPI, and CU? What features do they have that the others do not? I am currently trying to think about choosing between them -- I am strongly leaning towards Cornell, but I want to make every effort to make a decision outside of the bounds of prestige.
Of course, I am going to do research on my own -- but if anyone has their own opinion/insight into this choice it would be greatly appreciated.
