Im trying to design something similar to this vertical conveyor but on a smaller scale, but I don't know how would the load be attached to the chain thats driving it round securely without breaking it? Does anyone have any ideas?

Scaling Chain Conveyor using Kintex 5700

I have a continuous chain conveyor with tags set 778mm apart.

I want to index the conveyor by telling it to move 360Β°, 720Β° etc.

The motor (MPL-B310P-M) is coupled to a gearbox (Nord SK92672.1L SEP100) then there is a sprocket attached to the output. (PCD = 225)

The exact ratio of the gearbox is as below:

1st Stage (helical) Z1 gear = 10t; Z2 gear = 95t = 9.5:1

2nd Stage (bevel) Z1 gear = 9t ; Z2 gear = 46t = 5.11:1

Total ratio = 9.5 x 5.11 = 48.545:1

To scale 1 motor revolution to 360, I've multiplied the 1st stage to the second stage of the gearbox. (1-5)

I then multiply the output revs by 360. (6)

When I move the conveyor by 360Β°, it moves 714mm. I'm expecting it to move 706 (PCD*PI=706)

I try to scale the distance from 714mm to 778mm by multiplying that ratio by the previous ratio (7-9)

This gets it quite close but after it runs for a while it starts drifting. /edit. The drifting is noticeable once we start running product for a while. For example after 60 items, the conveyor will be off by about 2mm

The issue is the conveyor isn't indexing to 706 when I have 437/3240 as my scaling. But I cant find anything wrong mechanically.

Am I following the correct process or should I be doing something else?

What options for chains/pulleys/ropes for lifts, conveyor belts, etc?

I don't own any sets that include elements like this (haunted house, roller coaster, construction equipment, etc.). I want to make a manufacturing building with buckets or boxes hanging from some kind of track/belt that go around in an oval. All the sets I mentioned have the track/belt carrying stuff on just one side, and either reversing direction (elevator), or "dumping" the cargo before going going to the other side (like the roller coaster).

Anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on how I can pull this off? Or what parts might be suitable? The two most obvious to me are 3873 and 3711 but I'm unsure if I can make either work for this design.

edit: Figured out they're called "Overhead conveyors"

With Snek "gone", what are valid 6.0 chains to replace Conveyors in limited spaces?

[Google and forum search have not yielded much usable results on this subject, so Im asking here, as Im sure Im not the only one with a similar]

On several maps I've run up against, there are terrain issues limiting the number of conveyor lines to a core, and without endgame tech upgrades/map resources. What are things that still work in 6.0 that...

1.) Move more material than 1 titanium (or copper) line 2.) Dont take up more space than they make up for.

At this point, Im leaning towards Junction chains (~2.5 TBL still in 6.0?) which is (was?) still better than the default 1 TBL of the titanium line.

Junction works fine for end-to-end, but Im currently at a loss to how to insert at a point in the middle of it without causing clogs/backflow. Are there other chains that weren't broken by 6.0 that are still viable?

Any [serious] suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!
