After six months at SpaceX Iβm leaving to work on causes focused exclusively on social change. Over the last eight years I've helped tell the stories of different leaders and organizations that I believe are leading the world forward, from the United Nations to Google to Facebook. But now, more than ever, I feel the world is under threat - and itβs time to do something about it. From what I see, the world is becoming a less open and less compassionate place. More than 65 million people are refugees, more than at any point in history. Entire nations have been destroyed in war as the world has stood by. Nationalist movements are ascending across Europe. Brexit, a British tragedy, is in danger of becoming a general European failure. Here in the United States, my home for the last eight years, Tuesday's election result is yet another huge setback. This has been an election marked by repeated attacks on immigrants, minorities, women, and many other communities. I have always believed in an America that is confident and outward-looking, that works hard to drive the world to action on what matters most. Now, the loudest voices are calling for building walls between people. As an immigrant and the son of a refugee, and as someone dedicated to advancing the interests of humanity, I donβt want to watch while the world slips backwards. So I'm choosing to go and make whatever contribution I can β no matter how small - toward making the change we need: standing up for openness, compassion and sound global leadership. There are several things Iβm planning to do. First, I'm going to spend time working at the grassroots level to help address the deep and growing social divides in this country. What happened on Tuesday is not just about campaigning deficiencies or media failures. There is a growing gulf in understanding, empathy and policy; between coastal elites and communities left behind by globalization, between those who seek greater diversity and those who are fearful of it, between the βwinnersβ and βlosersβ in a changing world. These are hard problems, and there are few easy fixes. Iβm planning to work with a number of existing organizations and potentially to establish something new. I believe technology can play an important role in helping connect communities, uncover perspectives, and find new solutions to address the problems in peopleβs lives. Right now I'm developin

Assertion 1: God is a perfect, compassionate, loving and fair being who has no bias.
Assertion 2: LDS leaders are in direct communication with God.
Assertion 3: Humans have historically enforced unfair social and cultural norms on humans with less power.
Assertion 3.5: We can look back on unfair norms today and condemn them for what they are e.g. burning witches, keeping slaves, segregating brown people.
Proposition: If all the above assertions were true, LDS Church leaders would be on the forefront of moral development in society and they would be leading their followers into more moral norms.
Assertion 4: The LDS Church has been on the wrong side of moral history through women's rights (opposition to ERA), slavery (BY), segregation (ME Peterson; priesthood ban), rape (SW Kimball).
Conclusion: LDS leaders are not in communication with a moral God.
edit: clarifying ERA and priesthood
How do I find how long this community has been online or the date or year it was created? Also any personal shout outs on your personal experience with this community and how it has impacted you! I am essentially writing about how this community is different from if I were to have joined a COVID community thread (any example could work) and how my findings would be sooo different in big picture.

Previous discussion on r/ML about tweet on ML bias, and also a well-balanced article from The Verge article that summarized what happened, and why people were unhappy with his tweet:
Today, Yann Lecun apologized:
βTimnit Gebru (@timnitGebru), I very much admire your work on AI ethics and fairness. I care deeply about about working to make sure biases donβt get amplified by AI and Iβm sorry that the way I communicated here became the story.β
βI really wish you could have a discussion with me and others from Facebook AI about how we can work together to fight bias.β
Of course equality is important. Seeing people as human first is important. Just being a decent person is important. But I (and many others) get so sick of changing things, often in pop culture, just for the sake of change. Most recently DC comics put out a bi-sexual version of Superman. Was that really necessary? What does sex even have to do with the character at all? Why couldn't they have been a little more creative and made a new character? Other examples are the remake of the "Wonder Years" TV show as a black family and cultural experience. Why? Again, just come up with something original. This has been an ongoing thing for a while now with a number of comic charters, movies and tv programs. I don't think it would be received well if they remade "Shaft" and cast a white guy as the lead. Or even anyone of any race other than African American. Same goes for the comic book character Blade. What if we made "Sandford and Son" into something with an Asian family? There would be outrage for sure if any of this happened. So why is it any different with the whole Superman and "Wonder Years" thing?
I am looking for any studies or published literature related to how social media has changed social interaction.
Where could I look? Would this fall under social psychology? Any specific articles would be very much appreciated.
How could I go about conducting original research on the matter?
I don't know if this has been asked before, but writing semi-formally/formally makes me feel nice. I don't know why, maybe it establishes "space" with people, which I need a lot, or something else entirely. It just feels...right to me, and I want to know if anyone else feels this way as well.
Have a great day.
P.S. I limit it a lot when I am talking to family.

Are you, or someone you know, an adult who has experienced changes in social communication after a moderate to severe brain injury/TBI? Do you live in the state of Washington or Oregon? If so, I would love to hear from you! I am a doctoral candidate in Communication Disorders and Sciences at the University of Oregon, and I am currently looking for participants for a research study investigating a behavioral treatment program for improving social communication problems after brain injury. This research will be done remotely, so in-person meetings are not needed, but reliable internet access and a web camera for online sessions is required.
I am especially looking for people who have noticed problems with interrupting others, talking too much or too little, or perspective taking in conversation after a brain injury, and who have a family member or other person close to them (an everyday communication partner) who would be willing to participate in the study together. Participation takes a total of about 9-13 hours spread across 4-6 weeks with one follow-up session a month after conclusion of the other sessions, and after completion of all sessions by both partners, you and your partner can each receive a Fred Meyer or Bi-Mart gift card (your choice) worth $100. To find out more information and see if you would qualify for this study, please contact me, Heidi Iwashita, M.S., CCC-SLP, at (360) 742-9010 or heidii@uoregon.edu.
