-It's basically allowing that lower right grey corner to be folded up independently. I'm not particularly expecting anyone to know what's going on unless they happen to have done the same model, and equally I imagine hard to explain unless it's a commonly understood arrangement? Anyway, just thought I would post in case anyone could assist!

Yesterday I observed a spat between a red-throated and common loon. Obviously Gavia immer won, but Gavia stellata gets bonus points for instigating a dispute with a much larger bird. Smol but fierce. Reid State Park, Georgetown, Maine USA 11/20/2021

While bald eagles are apex predators, the common loon is quite capable of defending itself against a bald eagle attempting to snatch a loon's chick. Loon parents work together as a unit. One parent guards the chicks and one parent goes on the attack. A loon is quite capable of killing a bald eagle.
