A list of puns related to "Coahoma County, Mississippi"
We have gotten reports of an intent to ban kratom in Pearl Co. MS. There are a few counties in Mississippi that have already issued county bans.
There has been discussion of a state ban, but at this time the bill sponsor seems to be willing to put forth something like the KCPA instead of a full ban to deal with minor use and other issues of concern.
(Note: This section will be edited to provide links to some of the ongoing discussion on this matter.)
One of our users has provided some information if you wish to speak at the county board meeting:
>Pearl River County (Mississippi) proposed kratom ban IS NOT on Agenda @ Board of County Supervisors on 1/3/22. To speak at the January 19 Meeting will have to call 601-403-2300 BEFORE JANUARY 13, 2022 & ask for County Administrator. Confirm you are requesting 1/19/22 meeting.
When advocates show up to these meetings in numbers, and make our case in a personal and professional way we have had significant success.
If you are able to participate please be mindful of the following based on past experiences dealing with boards and commissions:
So a while back the electric company's contractor ran over and crushed our water meter box. The water company replaced it with one that locks. Is it legal for them to lock us out of the main? What if a pipe burst and we need to shut down the water? Can we force them to get a key or refuse to pay overages incase a leak happens since they are preventing us from turning off the water or reading our own meter (we check time to time because we have been dealing with leaks). I went to check today and there is no way to check.
