Please help! I made split pea and barley soup a few nights ago and loved it, today I didn't blend long enough with my immersion blender, and it's grainy. Can I save this soup?
I added a bit of fat to help the texture (1tbs butter), a little more chicken stock and have been blending it over very low heat. It's improved but it still doesn't have that creamy texture from last time. Unfortunately, it was too thick for me to strain out the barley that I already added (I messed up and should have tasted it first :( yikes) so I just blended it all together.
I have freshly made breadbowls and garlic rye chip garnishes all ready to go, so I really need this soup to come together but I fear it's ruined beyond repair. :(

Tips on how to make a hearty chicken noodle soup with a rotisserie chicken?

Any chicken barley soup recipes that cook everything at mostly the same time?
My mom used to make it on the stove with boiled chicken, but after making my dog boiled chicken for 2 weeks I absolutely despise it. I normally just do shredded chicken in the crockpot, but if I’m already dirtying that why not make the whole soup in it? I’ve googled and all the crockpot recipes I was finding required microwaving the veggies, slow cooking them for 2 hours, then add cooked chicken. Kinda a pain if I have to add a few hours beforehand to cook the chicken.

Has anyone noticed that a lot of meat in the last year has been going off well before it’s sell by date? Even meat that come from NI with no travel/ no Brexit hold backs. It’s also meat from any popular shop. Went to make chicken soup and the chicken was stinking. Sell by date 17/01. So much waste.
I understand the whole difference between sellby date, display date and best before but still.
