A list of puns related to "Characterization of nanoparticles"
Iβd say MJ during Dan Slottβs run, HOLY SHIT, itβs so fucking bad, it almost made me hate her, and the fact that Dan Slott hates the Spider-Marriage and MJ doesnβt help either
I am eating beef jerky right now after an Iowa-unrelated bad morning and I am feeling pretty comforted. Donβt ever let the establishment tell you what is and is not comfort food, except for βveggiesβ I think we can all agree that one was bullshit.
I've been into 40K for about a year now, and there's something interesting I've noticed with regards to how fans accept and interpret certain parts of the lore. Amidst the whole "everything is canon, not everything is true" concept, you do see hard lines drawn between what is considered really canon and, not so much.
Most of the time this relates to the quality of the writing of a certain author, or how the fans judge their grasp on the lore. Much of what C.S. Gotto has written, for example, has been basically discredited by this community. Most people on here don't spend their days being truly bothered by back-flipping terminators being part of the glorious "canon", because it's just so absurd that it's easy to cast aside.
But it's the more borderline examples that interest me. Sometimes you'll see people unhappy with certain characters and events from an in-universe perspective, and sometimes from a more meta perspective, or in other words the writing itself.
One example for me is Erebus.
The whole "Fuck Erebus" meme tells me that most people personally dislike the character and his actions, but in a way that is accepting of the actual characterization of him. To me, this has never made sense. I've never thought, "Man, fuck this Erebus guy." If anything, it's been, "Man, fuck this poor characterization and writing of this guy."
Erebus is a bad character. Not as in morally bad, but in a literary sense. He's too often used as a lazy plot device in place of long term character development or deep story-driven events. Need a convenient "man behind the curtain" character when you're short on time? Erebus did it. Can't portray someone's long term fall to Chaos based on their own subtle flaws and actions? Erebus tricked them with a few sentences.
This is why the "Fuck Erebus" thing never makes sense to me, because it's actually kind of saying that this kind of poor characterization is okay, and it's accepted by the community. But to me, it's the character equivalent of back-flipping terminators.
Another example is Mortarion. He's been written pretty inconsistently throughout both the Heresy and 40k by a few different authors, and I don't think we've yet to really see an approach that nails his character. Yet I will still see people voice their dislike for him on a personal level, referencing these inconsistencies but not the out-of-universe poor writing efforts that have been made for his character. I've literally seen people say, "Mortarion is so inco

That being said the last 10 hours or so have kinda been hurt by how uninvested I am in the plot and the characters. They just feel so one note and uninspired. I know Ryza is a pretty big departure from the series norms in terms of combat and alchemy but I'd be more than willing to give Ayesha a shot with the new Switch version coming. Assuming the characters and maybe the writing is a little more enjoyable.
(This is pretty long, tldr at the bottom) Hello everyone. I wrote a similar post for r/ShitPostCrusaders, where I talked about how the Part 5 anime turned me on Giorno, making him go from my least favorite Jojo to my #1. In light of the short spoilercast we got for Part 5 in CSB, I'd like to write about some observations made and opinions shared by the guys. Something I want to make clear from the get go: I will be referencing, opposing, and maybe outright calling down Woolie and Pat's observations on Part 5, and Giorno specifically. However, they are completely, and entirely entitled to those observations and opinions. I am in *no* way saying "they should like the character I like!", I'd just like a Giorno fan's perspective, outside some of the more toxic youtube comments I saw, to be present in the discussion, in as friendly and non-confrontational of a manner as I can muster. Also, there will be spoilers for pretty much every Part of Jojo's. With that said, let's get started.
There's three major points Pat and Woolie made that I'd like to address: 1. Giorno has little character, 2. He could've been more like Dio, and the presentation of a protagonist who's Dio's son should be given more gravitas, and 3. Bruno is more of a main character than Giorno.
First, Giorno has no character. More specifically, the observation that he has no "burning" to him. Jonathan is burning with chivalry, Joseph is burning with trickster-ism and theatrics, Jotaro, while stoic, is burning with wrath for most of his opponents, and Josuke is burning with... "delinquent good-heartedness" is the only way I can describe it. By comparison, Giorno is much more subdued of a character. While I can't blame anyone for this observation, because it's a dead on description, to carry this to "Giorno" has no personality" is kinda... ludicrous. Just because he isn't as expressive with his character traits doesn't mean they don't exist. He's incredibly mannerful, always speaking in a polite, even tone. Even in the midst of danger, such as the Clash fight or prior to Notorious BIG's fight, he politely asks things of his teammates even though the average person would be freaking their shit. The most he ever swears in his run is an under-breath "Damn" at one point. While this is something he receives from Jonathan, he gets more from Dio than just his ambition. Giorno can be *incredibly* sadistic. He throws a *live* Cioccolata into a pneumatic press to slowly, slooowly crush him. I can

I think it's hard for me to pick a favorite among the trio of Royal Guards. Youpi stands out to me, though, due to how basic his character arc is in comparison to Pitou and Pouf's. IIRC he simply matures through the conflict and stress he expriences and has with the Hunters fighting him. It's really simple, but I like it because, well, Youpi is made of Magical Beast DNA. I think Togashi designed him like that (appearance-wise) for a reason. Pouf and Pitou look far less weird than Youpi. This creative choice fits, however, as it highlights and complements Youpi's seemingly basic arc.
I would say I found Pouf annoying due to his scheming, but that speaks volumes. I feel like you could argue that Pouf, on a basic level, is technically the primary villain. The dude was responsible for a lot-- he wanted to keep Meruem from uncovering his memories, he tricked Pitou into thinking Komugi was fine, etc. He's the cause of big plot points.
Anyway, Pouf is a good character, but I like Pitou more. Pitou's defining character moments were much more memorable. They spotted Pokkle when he was hiding, they also killed Kite (a character that had a great deal of importance to Gon, the MC), etc. I think it was clear that the ants were problematic relatively early on. However, Pitou's appearance really set home the point for me as a reader. Pitou was pretty much this wall that suddenly lifted in front of Gon and Killua.
Pitou's arc is somewhat "simple" too-- they become much more empathetic, and I think the scene where Killua compares them to a mother or something along those lines really emphasizes this development. It seemed as though Pitou had truly grown to understand Gon's situation; Pitou more than likely didn't WANT to wipe Gon out, but their loyalty to Meruem outweighed the empathy they gained throughout the arc's progression.
TL;DR: I love this arc! Togashi is really skilled at storytelling. Who is your favorite Royal Guard in terms of character arcs?
I just played through all of Fire Emblem Warriors story mode in a single, unhampered run during a single day. I was really looking forward to seeing Shiida in 3D, she's in the running for my favorite Fire Emblem character of all time. Still, my experience with her is limited to having only completed the European version of Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon (hence the name Shiida), I have no experience watching support conversations with her or seeing her outside her own game. I rather liked a lot about Warriors, but something immediately felt off with Shiida.
THIS is the Shiida I'm used to seeing, which is an extension of this picture, which is also smiling, sure, but it's TOUGH smiling. The Shiida I know is a serious, but also exceedingly clever girl that earned my love through kindness and shrewdness, holding her own in conversation even against the mightiest of adversaries. She knows how serious the situation is and doesn't typically smile, but absolutely can if the situation calls for it. She's decently tomboyish and has an edge in her look that makes people take her seriously, yet she's clever enough to still take them by surprise. Always in the forefront, she appears in charge and at equal strength with Marth. She's a bit selfish, I frickin' love her "keep Marth safe for me, and for the world, but mostly for me" line, she's a girl that knows what she wants and can see through others easily. She's the character I like enough to make a moveset for in case she'd be in Smash (which is seriously outdated and I'd make a bunch of updates to, now, that link is mostly to prove just how dedicated to her I am, despite only having played that one game with her).
Yet, in Fire Emblem Warriors, the character that we met was not really Shiida... Was she... Caeda? Caeda here smiles this extremely sweet-looking, toothache inducing smile. In conversation she's exceedingly considerate, wise, caring for others and more than happy to let others take the center stage, and elevate them on top of that. Caeda consistently mak

I found my way to reading the manga after discovering the anime this week. I'm reading through it fairly slowly from what I gather. Most people seem to fly through the manga in a day or two. As of this writing, I'm on day four and Chapter 161. Its not a perfect manga, and when I say this please don't kill me! My criticisms of this manga are not really that different from most anime and manga overall. Often times, as a medium, it is far too cringey or fan servicey or glib for my taste. With that said, I hope I don't sound like I'm damning this particular manga with faint praise, because I'm a very closetet otaku and this is the first manga that I've read much less stuck with and thoroughly enjoyed for quite some time. I'm having all the feels!
Now that I've shared my entire life story, I want to get down to brass tacks and discuss something that was really bothering me as I read, particularly after Natsuo and Rui decided to get together (whew, didn't that take a while to happen, amiright?) I'm not here to argue about who is the better waifu or who deserves it more.
The issue has to do with how Rui treats Natsuo. After they are solidly together, she is characterized as jealous and deeply suspicious of Nat's commitment to their relationship, even after time and again he has proven how loyal he is to Rui. Say what you will about Natsuo's initial wishy washiness, but once that boy commits, he commits wholeheartedly for better or for worse (who am I kidding, his need to help people in trouble is a total shitshow, and he over-commits and gets in way over his head, but it makes the story and the drama interesting at least.)
At first, every time Rui would get jealous or pull back I would get furious. "WHY!?" I would want to scream. After a while, I realized it wasn't just happening randomly, as it was happening often enough to be part of her characterization. Then last night it hit me: Rui's biological father always ran away when the going got tough. Rather than stay and work out his problems, he bailed. Even after Rui and her father reconnected later in life, she found out that the affair he claimed to be having was really a lie to cover up for his debts. Any time things get serious or the going gets tough, she is expecting the men in her life to bail on her or cover it up. The fact that Natsuo is wishy washy and occasionally doesn't reveal the truth immediately plays into those exact fears that she is having, perhaps that she isn't even consciously aware

I imagine that SkekUng will be depicted as an even more serious rival for SkekSil with him being even more antagonistic towards the Chamberlain that SkekVar was and unlike SkekVar and the other Skeksis he will be able to see through the Chamberlain's lies and schemes and to outsmart him several times. I also think that he will be a more competent fighter and military leader than SkekVar with him leading the Garthims with great efficiency and that unlike the other Skeksis he will be less abusive of SkekTek and try to gain the Scientist's loyalty by treating him much better than the Emperor, SkekSil, SkekVar and SkekZok.
SkekNa will be imo a dangerous fighter and a particulary vicious and sadistic Skeksis who'll show us real feats of cruelty and mistreatment of the slaves. He will be an ally of SkekUng like in the original film with a great disdain for SkekSil too and who'll work closely with SkekTek.
SkekShod might be one of the quietest but also a really cunning individual who is not to be underestimated and a close ally to SkekZok like in the original movie. I can see him complaining about the loss of the Gelflings as guards and servants and of their tributes and him having an antagonistic relationship with the Scientist, complaining about the cost of SkekTek's experiments and of the production of Garthim soldiers and trying to cut him his means to work to SkekTek's fury.
