(cw anatomy talk) anyone know if T can cause cervicitis (cervix irritation)?

so i've been on T for 3 years and am taking yuvafem for vaginal/uterine cramping and atrophy. i got a pap test recently and they said i had some irritation in the cervix, so i'm waiting to get an STI test back (tested neg for chlamydia and gonorrhea, waiting on results for trich).

it wouldn't exactly be impossible for me to have an STI but it would be a little weird, so i was wondering if maybe T can be responsible for cervicitis too? i know i'll have to wait to hear from my doctor but just trying to get more info while i wait since i'm a little anxious lol

13 days post C section and diagnoses with bacterial vaginosis and Cervicitis, extremely worried

I came into ER with pelvic pain, painful urination and and low grade fever. They ran blood tests that were normal but my swabs showed inflammation and BV. I’m worried this has spread to either PID or edometritis and they’re only giving my flagyl to treat the BV.

Everywhere I read that BV has very bad effects if you get it at or around labour. I feel Hopeless with the treatment they’re offering and don’t think They understand severity of this. I’m going to lose my fertility if they don’t prescribe right antibiotics.

Anyone have Cervicitis that wasn’t from an infection?

Hello everyone, so I’ve been having some unusual symptoms lately:

  • Bleeding in between periods (spotting) *cramping in between periods (during ovulation *back pain *burning when I pee *burning in pelvic area
  • lots of discharge.

But I’ve also had longer than normal cycles:

49 days compared to my 30-38 days

And one time in the last 6 months I bleed for 16 days one month.

Just had my period and it ended at 6 days thank god.

I finally when to planned parenthood and got my hooha looked at cuz my gynecologist was refusing to see me without an ultrasound that I need but my insurance is denying. The nicest doctor at planned parenthood did a pelvic exam and said my cervix looked irritated and inflamed. She did the usual swabs and ran some tests and stated I had a cervicitis and decided to put me on antibiotics.

She stated the tests for STIs would take a little while to come back but if I didn’t get a call from them then that was good news. So I haven’t received a call (I saw them last Tuesday) so I’m just wondering if anyone has dealt with something like this without an infection. I use to get UTIs like crazy so for a while my fiancΓ© and I stopped having sex and recently started slowly getting back into it with foreplay….I’m wondering if that has caused my cervix to become inflamed…

I don’t wear tampons and only use pads during my time of the month….any information would be useful. My anxiety ridden brain is thinking this is leading to cervical cancer but I’m only 24 and have had all my HpV shots. I’ve also been with my one partner for 8 years. TIA for any advice or information you can provide.

Cervicitis and Frustrating women's healthcare

So 2 weeks ago a day before I was getting on a plane I thought I had a yeast infection so I used Monistat 1, my symptoms didn't really clear up so I started using boric acid 4 days later which caused a lot of cramping so I stopped using them and tried to let everything settle. Last Wednesday I noticed some burning and pain in my pelvis but I couldn't get to urgent care until Friday because they were all completely booked with covid tests and other ailments. When I get to urgent care on Friday, although I had already confirmed over the phone they tell me they aren't set up to do pelvic exams so I'm in pain and Monday (today) is holiday. On Friday I called my OBGYN because my only options were them or the ER and the ER is overran with COVID so not really wanting to risk that. They tell me the earliest I can get in is Wednesday of this week. So now I'm just sitting here in pain, pretty sure it's cervicitis of some sort unable to get comfortable and popping ibuprofen as often as possible until Wednesday. I'm mostly just posting this because I'm in pain and can't do anything about it for another 2 days and I'm just so frustrated.

Possible cervicitis?

Not sure if anyone can relate to this- I'm going to be pretty detailed to give as much context as possible so this might get long...

I was in a relationship for nearly 6 years so I only had one partner during that time. I would say he had a slightly above average penis in size (I doubt that even matters because I know the vagina is very elastic and can stretch to birth a whole-ass baby). I never had any issues with pain, discomfort, or bleeding.

After we broke up I didn't have sex for 6 months. The first time I had sex with a new partner everything was normal. Then the next time about 2 days later I bled quite a bit right after. There was no pain or anything abnormal during I just bled for some reason. That continued the next few times we had sex. Then I got my period and it didn't happen anymore after that.

I figured I messed up my cycle because about 2 weeks before our first time I went on vacation. I didn't want to have my period while on vacation so I skipped my placebo pills and started another month of birth control. So when I stopped bleeding during/after sex I assumed my cycle was back on track and throwing my cycle out of whack was the culprit.

The relationship with the new guy ended about a month and a half ago. I decided I'm going to take another break from dating so I bought a dildo that has like a little vibrator rabbit thing attached. I took my time, made sure I had enough lube, etc. There was no pain or discomfort during or directly after. However about 10 minutes later when I got up to pee I was bleeding quite a bit.

This really freaked me out! I was tested for STIs before sleeping with the new partner and we used condoms the whole time so I really don't think it's due to an STI. I asked my primary care doctor about it this morning and he said it may be cervicitis but he can't be sure without doing an exam. He told me if it happens again to make an appointment. The thing is now I'm really turned off from the idea of having sex or masturbating knowing this might happen. I'm not sure what to do?

Has anyone else had bleeding during and/or after sex similar to what I've experienced? And does anyone else have experience with cervicitis? I'm a worrier so googling was giving me so much anxiety. I'd really appreciate any and all input from people who've been there.

Many thanks!

Constant burning of vagina and lips, sometimes itching, swelling, no odor, white creamy discharge, it's been months, repeated gyno visits reveal nothing except cervicitis and fryable cervixβ€”just. help. Please.

It's clear something is wrongβ€”my entire vaginal area is puffy and swollen, ranges between low-grade burning to can't-wear-underwear-or-pants horror show burning that hurts to the bones, and it just feels so hot I wish I could put a popsicle up there for relief. I'm testing clear on everything. Well, everything Western: yeast, gonorrhea, BV, clamydia, even got an m. genitilium swab with a lot of begging. I had strep b for a hot minute on my culture but even that went away.

I was not able to find testing for ureaplasmas or the other mycoplasma.

There's no smell at all, but a creamy lotiony discharge that isn't normal for this time of the month (I'm ovulating today-ish.) and frankly, it's always around. The discharge looks very slightly chunky if I pull it out with a fingerβ€”maybe grainy is a better word? But I noticed it pooled around the base of my partner's penis the last time we had sex (which hurt, btw, but I got distracted.)

EDIT: New info: PH is good.

I'm using unscented laundry detergent. I'm sticking with cotton undies and drying the damn thing off. I don't use soap down there, or anything else. I can't even wear pants most days. WTF?

What else can I test for or try? I have SIBO and I'm hoping balancing my gut balances my burn.

FWIW, I cannot take probiotics. Inserting them internally just seems to make everything worseβ€”probably due to the filler.

I haven't tried boric acid, as I don't really know what I'm fighting.

Cervicitis and infertility? Tubal blockage? Please help 😭

I suffered from an ammonia discharge for about 10 years, last year I went to the doctor where I was diagnosed with chronic cervicitis (even though I thought my cervix looked horrible, he said it wasn't much compared to what he usually sees). I got it treated with a cervical cryotherapy but never got told what caused it in the first place. I continued with discharge for months until I read on reddit about ureaplasma and decided to get tested, it came positive. I got it cleared with 21 days of doxy and my annoying discharge disappeared forever.

However, as I had this infection for years, I started asking myself it could had probably reached my fallopian tubes? No doctor has talked to me about it so I'm starting to freak out. Anyone who had this bacteria for so long had problems conceiving? I'm 21 so I'm not planning to get pregnant right now, but I do in the future.

BV and Cervicitis

Hi everyone! So I went to my OBGYN about 2 days ago for a check up and to see if everything was all right, since I have been getting some strong/ foul smelling discharge (I don't have any STI's though. I got tested and everything was good).
Turns out i have BV and Cervicitis. Now, Cervicitis is normally caused due to STI's, but since this is not the case, I had a PAP smear done just to check everything is ok.

Other than STI's, what can cause Cervicitis? Could the BV also play a part in it or is it unrealted?

Was put on antibiotics for asymptomatic cervicitis but now I seem to have a yeast infection.. is that possible? How to treat?

Hi! Four days ago I had my routine Pap smear (last one three years ago was normal) and the Dr said my cervix was inflamed and bled easily, and she also noticed more discharge than is normal. I was completely asymptomatic at the time; none of this was painful or uncomfortable and I hadn’t noticed any changes from my normal discharge. She said it was most likely due to chlamydia or another infection (she saw WBCs under the microscope) and put me on a course of antibiotics for 7 days even before the chlamydia test came back, so I don’t even know if that was positive yet or not. Well now I’ve been on antibiotics for 4 days (have take 8/14 doses) and my vagina has been itchy and sore since last night. I looked at it in the mirror and noticed a lot of discharge with some small clumps (very unusual for me). Google seems to say this is a hallmark of yeast infections... could it be possible that the antibiotics messed with the flora of my vagina and led to a yeast infection? And can I go on yeast infection meds while taking antibiotics? Any input of helpful.. sorry for the TMI haha

Cervicitis/Cervical Erosion

I have been facing vaginal irritation and itching on and off since 2 years which is corrected by applying ointments such as ExelGn and Ornabet and after certain days reoccurs. There are also some sores which are color of skin and cant be seen just felt and if you itch them, more itching is resulted. Pap and HPV is negative. Doc advises cryosurgery for this condition/cervical erosion. Has anyone experienced same and has found alternate solution as cryo seems to be scary and doc also said it might not resolve the problem.

Cervicitis? Boyfriend cheating?

Age: 19 Sex: female Height: 5’6” Weight: 120 lbs Race: white Duration of complaint: 2 days ago Location on body: vaginal, cervical Any diagnosed medical issues: none Medications: Lo Loestrin Fe once daily Drugs: none Smoking: no

Hello. Two days ago I went to the gynecologist for a yeast infection. The night prior to this I had intercourse with my boyfriend. While examining me the doctor said I had a bit of an inflamed cervix, and asked if I had tested for STDs. I tested in December for Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, and Trich, all of which were negative. She suggested that I test again because I β€œonly know what I’VE done”. There is no reason to suggest that my boyfriend has cheated on me given that I’m literally with him 24/7, but it seems like the doctor didn’t want to hear that. My question is, are STDs the sole cause of an inflamed cervix? I can’t imagine that they are, and I’m pretty sure it was inflamed because I had a yeast infection... but of course this doctor had to give me unnecessary paranoia. Help? P.S. doctor gave me 2 Diflucan and Flagyl 7 days 2 times a day.

Cervicitis, PID and IUD?

So, I’ve (21 ) had my IUD (Liletta) for about a year and 6 months now. After insertion it hasn’t given me any major problems and I truly love the IUD as a form of birth control. However, I was recently diagnosed with PID, the cause for it is unclear as I’m still waiting on my STI results to come in. I’m taking antibiotics and hopefully that’ll clear up the infection within the treatment period. I’ve had a history of recurring cervicitis, even prior to the IUD insertion which I personally believe may have resulted or at least been a factor in developing PID. I’m debating if I should remove my IUD since although it may not be the sole contributor to my reproductive problems, my biggest fear is that due to my history it could be messing with my fertility which is one of my biggest fears. If any of you have experience with problems with your IUD and PID can you please share. I haven’t really had any one to talk about this and it’s becoming extremely overwhelming to just dwell upon.

IUD, cervicitis, more

I got my Mirena about 3 months ago to the day. Apart from the nonstop bleeding and slight cramps, it hadn’t bothered too much.

A little less than a week ago, I began having these.. weird pains. It’s between a sharp and dull pain, and it’ll be either where I suspect my ovaries are or in the middle, where my cervix is. I’m not used to the kind of sharp pains so it had me worried. They’re kind of like ovulation pains, although they last longer than I had them before the IUD. Before this, I had been having sex on pretty much a daily basis and experienced slight cramps after sex.

Anyway, when this started it up I immediately went to PPH. They ruled out pregnancy and confirmed the IUD was in place. The doctor who swabbed me for infection had me take 500 mg of azithromycin and nothing more since then, which was four days ago. She said it was for cervicitis, and that I’ll also be tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Since I took the antibiotic, the pain hasn’t seemed to go away. At times, it almost seems worse but it’ll subside and then come back again later. It has never been a severe pain, but enough for me to know it’s there. Around the time the pain started my usual IUD-bleeding stopped (around 3 months after insertion). I’ve also started getting my usual discharge I had before my IUD.

With all that said, I have a few questions.

  1. Is it normal to get IUD pains a while after insertion? I found it strange it seems to come and go all within the course of a day, only for it to repeat.
  2. How did I get cervicitis? I am assuming I do not have chlamydia or gonorrhea, as I am fairly certain my partner and I are negative. Are there other ways to get cervicitis?
  3. How can I be sure what I have isn’t an ovarian cyst or ectopic pregnancy? That being said, I’m not in major pain at all.

Thanks for the help. I hope I can get some advice or input!

cervicitis from violent swab test - any advice would be helpful?

Hi, I have had persistent pain for nearly 3 months straight following a swab test by a nurse who had jabbed repeatedly at my cervix until I started crying - actually continued when I was crying and then tried to do a pap smear but I told her to stop.
I’ve been to several doctors who either told me not to worry or tested me for various things. None of them will acknowledge that a) it’s serious if I’m in crippling pain for this long b) it could be from physical trauma and not an infection or invention of my mind. All of my STI tests have been negative. The only thing that has shown up is inflammation noted in a second pap smear. The pain is outrageous. To make matters worse, my GP gave me a pessary. I was wary that it would aggravate it more and he was totally flippant. Of course it made it worse, very red and swollen and caused a burning sensation. It’s really sad to see this happening to myself. The fact it was all caused by someone who is supposed to be a medical professional and then the GP prescribed something that made it worse has me very wary of the medical system here - UK - and also feel completely not cared for or taken seriously as a woman. It’s breaking my heart. I am scared if it’s not dealt with it was lead to PID. I don’t even understand how this has lasted so long. It’s not an STI or cancer, it’s cervical inflammation from physical trauma. It’s also accompanied by very bad lower back pain. I don’t know how or if that can be treated. Everything I have read about this treats the infection that caused it, but if it’s caused by physical injury, I don’t know what can be done. If anyone knows anything about how to resolve this or has any similar experience, please help.

Concerned, cervicitis treatment

I’ve been going through this for awhile, and I just want answers because I’m concerned. Last Friday I went to Planned Parenthood for weird discharge and itchiness, and the doctor had told me I have Cervicitis and a yeast infection. I have taken through all of my medication, it was just one day antibiotics and monistat. The discharge has not stopped. Has anyone else gone through this? How long did it take for all of the symptoms to leave? I know this is probably too soon to expect results however, the doctor didn’t let me know when to expect for things to improve/when to return if they don’t. I’m just freaking out because i’ve been trying to look up resources online and i’m not finding anything besides articles that say I probably have Pelvic Inflammatory Disease and Cervical Cancer. (lol Web MDing my symptoms).
