A list of puns related to "Catholic Church response to the Medjugorje apparitions"
The older guy mumbles, "Don't bother knocking, pal. There's no paper over here either.β
The phrase βFather, I have sinned.β will be replaced with βDaddy, Iβve been naughty.β
Back in February I decided to do a data request with the local Catholic church. My parents had got me a baptism, first communion, and confirmation, so I was curious to see what data they had on me.
They got back about a month later, and it was only details relating to baptism and confirmation. They gave a sheet of both with my records on them. Except they censored the priests name in both, as well as my parents and sponsor for the confirmation.
I kept meaning to query it and only did so today. I was talking to someone in the local parish office and she said that the bishops GDPR office told them to censor any names in the details that weren't mine. When I say censor, I mean it was written in and then covered with black marker.
I thought this was really odd and pressed a bit to find out why. She kept saying that the names of the people were the private data of the people in question. I pointed out that the priest who did the ceremony to me is my part of my data, in the same way that asking a school for my data would include the names of the people that taught me.
She started getting weird, and a bit hostile, when I pushed and started asking me why I wanted to know the name of the priest. I explained that I thought it was odd that it was censored, and was curious why.
She said she would check why it needed to be censored and get back to me.
I especially do not know why my parents names were censored off the record, or the sponsor's. The sponsor was someone my parents (or I - I can't remember) chose from family and friends.
17/7/19 Update: I queried it with the (Irish) Data Protection Commission, turns out they are meant to censor other names. GDPR data requests only entitle you to personal information about yourself that the entity holds
1,000 victims just in PA.
Imagine that number if every single state did a similar grand jury investigation. Imagine all the other cover ups.
Imagine that number if it goes worldwide.
People who protect child predators are not men of god, and they should be shamed in society until they fucking change.
It is a terrible shame that Notre Dame has had such a destructive fire however the Catholic Church is so cash rich that it does not require donations from regular people in order to rebuild this Cathedral
