A list of puns related to "Carlos the Jackal"
There are a lot of players like myself who are stuck grinding through RNG for those Sleeper Node guns who are stuck waiting on RNG to bless them.
The chances of getting a Braytech Schematic to drop is already slim to none and when going to Ana Bray when I do get a schematic to drop I usually get a duplicate of one of the guns I already have.
If there was a way to add those guns into the general Mars lootpool or another way to get them that would be wonderful. It is a shame that a lot of these Seals for an achievement/trophy are heavily tied to RNG drops, especially for things like Year 1 armor and weapons that are mostly out of date.
For the record I have cleared through 200+ Resonant Stems this week grinding for the Braytech Winterwolf. I have all of the other guns, but this one seems to allude me.
I have popped 2 schematics from these nodes and 1 schematic from the Nascent Dawn 1/5 quest on my last alt.
Alternatively you guys can add the guns into the Sleeper Node pool and make it so those things drop way more frequently? That is another idea. Maybe even Duplicate Protection on the nodes? I am just spitballing ideas.
Tl;Dr - Guns locked behind 2 sets of RNG from Year 1 are holding people back from the Destinations Seal. Plz add to Mars Loot Pool, to make it easier for guardians to get the gun. Alternatively just add the 4 guns into the Sleeper Nodes themselves and make them more likely to drop that way.
Edit:
So there seems to be two camps of people replying to this thread.
The first one is actively against βhandoutsβ of the title because titles should be hard to get.
The second are people who are wishing that their RNG rates would be better and that there was a sort of duplicate protection or something done to prevent a mountain of useless hours to be spent to chase, in some cases, one gun.
Something I did not know and this thread seemed to show me is that players allegedly have a high chance at a schematic every reset once per character. Iβm going to give that a shot and hopefully get closer to this gun.
Lastly, a lot of people have been asking if the Braytech Osprey should be handed out as well, the answer there is no, that gun is a nightfall based gun, and while rare it has a path set up to eventually get it. This isnβt about the nightfall weapons, this is 100% about the sleeper node weapons.
I know many people love the Anubis suit so I'd like to see how you style the Anubis head - Mask of the Jackal (the recolor is fine too). I made an angel of death and I love how she turned out, she's my new avatar!
Jackal is an operator, to me anyway, who is fundamentally broken. Punishing you for moving is a mechanic in Siege that is just incomprehensibly powerful. He also has very few counters, which certainly doesn't help the matter.
Personally, I think Jackal would work just fine as an operator who can hunt down operators but whereby the footprint scans only appear for him. His whole design is for HIM to hunt the roamers, not for him to scan and lets others hunt them. He also has a strong loadout which makes sense if he has to hunt and fight roamers or stray operators. He should be getting into gunfights and in that respect, a strong loadout makes sense. Its power level however doesn't make sense with his mechanics at the moment.
Here are the changes I think he should get -->
Pings
Scans
QoL changes
I think these changes would reduce his frustration level overall as the scanned enemy knows that jackal is the only threat when it comes to the live pings, which is the way it should always be overall. This will subsequently help with the Pick and Ban situation as well, as the frustration level goes down and the effectiveness slightly reducing but can still be very strong.
It adds more of a skill element as well, allowing you to use the prints as a means of intel without scanning, due to this info being constant with the visor improvements. I think you can also keep the limited counters the way they are, allowing jackal to almost always get value but its up to him how impactful this becomes.
I honestly think this wouldn't hurt his pick rate and win rate much, but has a lot more benefits from a change like this. I know he just got a 'rework' but I don't think it solved much. The fundamental issues with jackal are still there, regardless of ping amounts. This change changes that, which is what should've been changed in the first place. The 'rework' he got is an excellent starting point for a change like this, and I think its worth solving him sooner rather than later.
