A list of puns related to "Candy cigarette"
Hey guys,
One of my favourite treats growing up were these chocolate 'cigarettes'. I'm almost 100% certain they no longer exist but I'd love to know what they were called.
Each chocolate stick was individually wrapped in really thin white paper. The boxes they came in were made out of a thicker paper/cardboard with a foil lining. The boxes came in a variety of different colours and each one had a different sports person on the front. The one I remember most vividly is a gridiron player (weird considering they were sold in Australia).
The chocolate itself was kind of birttle and powdery and tearing the paper off was a pain in the ass but I absolutely loved them for some reason. They were my go-to milk bar purchase back in the late 90s.
Does anyone remember them?
Iβm going to eat regular cigarettes
My husband and I adopted a little boy in an open adoption and have regular contact with his parents and grandparents. He spent 4th of July weekend with his Father's family and by all accounts had a great time. Their whole family are smokers while my husband and I are not. I have an allergy to cigarette smoke. When I went to pick him up afterwards, his Grandmother handed him a box of retro candy cigarettes with the words, "Don't forget your cigarettes! You're my new smoking buddy!" I could see that the box was open and half full and asked, "What is this?" "Oh it's just candy," she replied. I said, "No. I don't want him thinking smoking is cool or fun - it's deadly, and he's 6 for crying out loud!" She told me to lighten up - it's not a big deal. I asserted that when she calls him her smoking buddy and makes it this fun things to do with candy that she's essentially training him to be a future smoker and that's not a thing we encourage in our home. She rolled her eyes at me and said again that it's no big deal and she should be allowed to give her grandson whatever candy he wants. I reminded her that she while she has a right to her opinions, she has no right to interfere with how we take on the responsibility of raising him. Also, in this day and age with everything known about the risks involved with smoking why on earth would she want him to think it's a good thing? She got all offended, said I was judging her and trying to drive a wedge between her and her grandson. I told her that I was judging the tobacco industry and the way they get people hooked, that we want better for him, and that she needs to respect our decisions when it comes to raising him. She's still ticked at me and I feel like our trust in her has diminished. So am I making too big a deal about candy - am I the AH?
Just saw an ad for this, and, don't get me wrong, it's important to give our kids lessons about how to be responsible with their finances, but a debit card for a kid strikes me as a gateway drug and shows kids only one way to navigate the financial system -- traditional banks, credit, and fiat. That simply prolongs deep-seated issues in our financial system.
But the ad did get me thinking... Any tools out there to responsible teach kids about the benefits of crypto in a real-world kind of way? I'm sure there's some good stuff out there. Thanks Cryptonauts!
I want to start getting into candy cigarettes as a bit. Iβve checked most major retailerβs websites but havenβt been able to find one that lists them. Does anyone know of a place that sells them?
