Novak suuporters held a candlelight vigil last night out the front of the hotel where he is detained, WHY??? candlelight vigils are for when people DIE, not sooky la la tennis players who are millionares and think the rules dont apply to them,
Friends of Jessica Marshik are asking for volunteers to help canvas Jessicaβs neighborhood with flyers this Saturday, January 8th,10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. We want to bring awareness to the suspicious circumstances of her sudden disappearance, and to find people who may have seen Jessica or heard something or recall seeing anything out of the norm around the time she went missing. The canvassing will start at Jessicaβs apartment building on 7th Street SE, Minneapolis, MN. Community members with interest in volunteering can find more information on the Facebook event page or show up the day of the event anywhere from 10-4.
On Friday, January 14th, the community will host a candlelight vigil at 6:00 PM. This will mark one month since Jessica last contacted family and friends. This event will also be held at Jessicaβs apartment building as well.

We will be raising money for the families and protesting for three key demands: 1. Compensation for the relatives of the six people who died, 2. Bringing all Amazon buildings up to OSHA-compliant standards, 3. Better emergency response procedures (no taking away employees' phones or forcing them to work through a tornado).
After reading through the comments of the video where activists were unlawfully arrested, I was disappointed to find that a significant number of people were commenting "Just cooperate with the police lah", "Ingat ini America ke?" or "This is not Hollywood". I believe that the police are only able to keep this attitude up because of the obedience and lack of education of the rakyat.
So, as a student studying to become a police officer, I decided to polish my education on the subject of arrests in Malaysia and share it with those willing educate themselves on the subject.
*Arrest*
~ Should the police officer making the arrest touch or confine the body of the person to be arrested, it is already considered an arrest, not "documentation".
~ A police officer can arrest you without a warrant if you are suspected of a seizable offence, i.e. an offence which is punishable with death or imprisonment of 3 years and above. (breaking SOP is not considered a seizable offence)
*Our rights during arrest*
~ Right to counsel, as protected by the Federal Constitution under Article 5(3) βwhere a person is arrested, he shall be allowed to consult and be defended by a legal practitioner of his choiceβ.
~ A person has the right to be informed of the reasons of his arrest, Federal Constitution, Article 5
~ A person may not be arrested for more than 24 hours without a magistrate's permission/remand order.
*What do I do if I'm being unlawfully arrested?"
