Iβm looking for info on Markelβs Dairy in Glen Rock, Pennsylvania. Owners were possibly Marcellus Emory Markel born 1875 and son Harry Marcellus Markel born 1901.
Unfortunately I donβt know when it was opened or closed for sure, but a man told me he remembers it in the 1940s. They had their own bottles which are still circulating for collection.
There was a local paper called the Glen Rock Item that ended publication in 1948 along with many York City, Township, and County based papers plus Hanover, PA.

The title sums up with a restaurant that I am currently working at.
Throughout the last two years of working in a casual/semi fine dining restaurant, I have been feeling emotionally overwhelmed, numb, demotivated and being unappreciated from the staff/Management despite of the contribution I have made. My name being mentioned in a newspaper article of such prestige is something I am really happy and proud about.
My job of waiting tables for 60 hours a week is challenging of it's own. It's physically challenging and mentally taxing, though I do genuinely enjoy and proud the work that I do. Customers will be customers, and coworkers will be coworkers which I hate working with these days, there are always bad days and good days - it always fluctuates.
Right now I am in the verge of quitting, and also leaving the hospitality/F&B industry searching for a long term and stable career for myself. Not sure if I can use the newspaper article for employment reference though right now I just want to feel validated for the work I am being recognised for.
