A list of puns related to "Basset"
I try to avoid buying prepackaged mince at SuperV because half of the time it is 'old' and the other half it is 'iffy'. This has been true of every branch that I've ever shopped in, idk why (meat from the butcher's counter is grand). This time, I had no choice.
Opened it as soon as it was delivered to divide and freeze, but the smell, oh gods, it was a 'fuck you and your scent receptors, I am DEAD COW!' smell. I rushed into the bathroom for a quick vomit, abandoning the beef well out of reach of the dog at the back of the counter.
I mean, he's a foot high and takes 15 minutes to walk to the corner and back, not one of nature's climbing machines. You'd think. Plus he was asleep at the other end of the house.
I come back about 45 seconds later, towel wrapped around my nose and mouth and, it's gone. No box, no beef, no dog. A sort of wet vacuuming noise is coming from the sunroom. I dash in, the dog side eyes me, gives one last frantic blast of suction, spits out a small square of plastic, and wanders back to his bed in the sun.
He ate it all. 750g of rancid, raw mince. I am down to my last three poo bags and desperately wondering if I can sneak him out into evil neighbour's garden in the wee hours for a ninja explosion of whatever is going to come out the other end this evening.
Pray to your gods for me.
UPDATE: Basset is completely fine, no ill effects at all, not even an extra fart.
My lil guy is only 44 lbs and I feel like this is small for a basset. Out of curiosity, how much does your basset weigh?
My 12yr old basset has always been super sweet in the past year he's gotten so jumpy
And in the last month when he jumps or gets spooked he tries to bite which he's never done before.
Is this normal?
He was at the vet for a regular check up about 2 weeks ago and they said he is healthy and fine.
I will probably get a basset puppy this winter but the only thing which worries me is that everybody tells me they have a specific smell. Is it really that bad? Is there a way to remove this smell as much as possible?
basically like itβs said in the titleβmy 11-month-old basset loves sticking her head out the window and loves feeling the wind as her tongue flails to the side. however, after being in the car for certain periods of time (maybe 20-30 mins? could be more or less, i donβt have an exact number right now) she ends up throwing up. iβm not sure if thatβs carsickness or something new altogether. do dogs even get carsick? how does one help their carsick dog?
I only found this site selling new basset horns and became intrigued

Maybe some of you saw my rescue post. Here's another followup...See my post history for more on the dog.
I'm an avid day hiker. My sweet spot is 7-12 miles. While I've owned many dogs, this is my first basset.
The terrain I hike isn't overly difficult.
I'd like to take her on hikes. Is starting short and building up stamina a thing with dogs?
She's in good shape, isn't over weight at all and has good energy. The short legs are what concern me.
How long do you guys walk for?
