Notes:

Every player listed has been inducted into the Hall of Fame except Billy Howton.

Warren Moon threw for over 49,000 yards and only became an NFL starter at 28 years old. Had his career began at 22 his yardage pace would have put him at over 70,000 yards, making him the record holder that Brett Favre would have been chasing.

Barry Sanders holds the highest per year yardage average of any RB ever at 1,527. He also holds the highest total yards per year average at 1,819. Had he played the same amount of years as Emmitt Smith, he would have been on pace for more than 4,000 more rush yards than the current leader.

Royal Oud

Received a lot of request to resplit this one again, so here we are. Creed Royal Oud, is one of my favorite scents from the house and perfect for all seasons but this fragrance really shines in the fall/winter months. This is pure opulence in a bottle if I had to describe it myself. Very versatile and can pretty much be worn all year and for any occasion. I would also note that this scent is a grown man's fragrance but I mean that in a good way.

Similar to Aventus, Royal Oud also has batch variances but I will say the batches of Royal Oud have actually gotten better over the years meaning these newer batches have managed to catch up in smell with my vintage bottle.

James “Jimmy” Stewart was one of America’s most beloved actors over the course of decades. He was also a fierce American patriot who was not afraid to make sacrifices for the country he loved so much.

The Early Years of Jimmy Stewart

Like so many actors of his generation, James Maitland Stewart, was born in 1908 to parents of modest means. His father ran J.M. Stewart and Company Hardware Store, which he hoped his son would take over one day after graduating from Princeton, which was a family tradition. His mother was a homemaker. Stewart’s father was a deeply religious Presbyterian. Throughout his life, Stewart would be a regular church goer.

Music was a big part of family life in the Stewart home. His mother played piano and his father once accepted an old accordion from a customer who was unable to pay their bill. A local barber instructed young Jimmy in the instrument, and it followed him around for the rest of his life, a frequent off-stage companion on film sets.

As a young boy, Stewart enjoyed mechanical sketching and airplane models. He dreamed of being an aviator. His performance in school was lackluster, because he tended to be more of a creative type and was prone to daydreaming during class.

At his father’s insistence, he attended Mercersburg Academy in preparation for his future at Princeton. Stewart competed in track, served as the art editor of the school yearbook, sang in glee club, and was a member of the John Marshall Literary Society. He tried his hand at football, but his lanky frame relegated him to the third team.

James Stewart Caught the Acting Bug

During the summer, he went back to his hometown to work as a brick loader and a magician’s assistant. He never did become an aviator, but his father’s dreams of Princeton were realized. Stewart majored in architecture while keeping active in dramatics and the arts on the side. Ultimately, he turned down a scholarship for graduate architecture studies to join the University Players, an intercollegiate summer stock company on Cape Cod.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Overview

Hi everybody!

For database practice, I decided to create a quick set of all the main casts featured so far in Phase 4 of the MCU. Because I wanted the concept of 'main cast' to be defined by named characters with consistent appearances and at least some relevance to the story of the specific movie/show they appeared in, I removed some names I felt did not need to be included yet or were too small a role to actually count. Most notably:

• Benedict Wong: appears twice as Wong. Once in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and once in Spider Man: No Way Home.
• Julia Louis-Dreyfus: appears twice as Valentina de Fontaine. Once in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and once in Black Widow.
• Josh Stamberg: appears as Tyler Hayward in WandaVision.
• Don Cheadle: appears as James Rhodes in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
• Clé Bennett: appears as Lemar Hoskins in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
• Carl Lumbly: appears as Isaiah Bradley in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
• Jonathan Majors: appears as He Who Remains in Loki.
• Tony Revolori: appears as Flash Thompson in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
• Rhys Ifans: appears as Curt Connors in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
• Thomas Haden Church: appears as Flint Marko in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The animated series What If... was excluded altogether. Several recurring parts were also cut, including the alternate Lokis, other Peter Parker's high school characters, the Lady Sif, Captain Marvel, Hulk and Venom cameos, and Hunter C-20 from Loki.

Findings

The reason I started this was simply that I wanted to see how often actors were being cast to play a character of a different nationality in Phase Four. So what's the answer?

16 actors have been cast to play a foreign part this year. 7 from England, 3 from the USA, 2 from
Germany, 2 from Canada, 1 from Northern Ireland and 1 from Ukraine.

Actors from 14 different nationalities have been part of Phase 4 so far, with the majority of them coming from the United States, naturally. England yields the next most MCU alumni with Canada being a far third. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals are tied for most diverse cast yet, featuring 7 different nationalities, followed by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier with 4.

TL;DR

Made all-time hometown rosters with original 30 NBA teams + 25 new teams to split populated areas and big teams (spreadsheet + map)

Player Pool and Team Pool

I used the top 969 players who have at least 10000 minutes played in their career.

Why 10000 minutes played? Because that's the lower standard set by Basketball-Reference to get on their ABA career leaderboard (15000 MP for NBA). I added George Mikan, because even though he hasn't played enough minutes, he's featured in All-Time ESPN NBARank and Bill Simmons Hall of Fame Pyramid.

I started off with the current 30 teams. To split up the Lakers and Clippers, I gave the Clippers their proposed Inglewood site.

As I looked at the map of player hometowns, I realized that there were:

• some areas that had a lot of players, but few close NBA teams
• some areas that had bloated rosters with too many players

Based off city population and arena size, I added 25 new teams.

• I obviously had to give Seattle their team back
• Birmingham, North Little Rock and Shreveport helped to split up the South
• Pittsburgh and St. Louis were big cities without teams
• Berkeley added to siphon off San Francisco
  • if I add Oakland, it takes away too many players
• Anaheim and Westwood added in Southern California (Clippers & Lakers)
• Winston-Salem and Raleigh to pare down Charlotte
• Lansing to prune Detroit
• 2nd Atlanta team in suburb of College Park
• 2nd Washington team and Baltimore
• 2 more teams in Chicago (Rosemont and South Side) + a team in Gary
• 2nd Indiana team + Louisville & Lexington
• 2nd Philadelphia team in suburb of Wynnewood
• 3 more teams in the New York Area (Newark, Queens and Long Island)

Hello everyone, Alpinia here, and I'm proud to bring to you one of the largest updates to Kaiserreich so far - 0.18 'Forest Brothers'. The new reworked nations brought to you this time around are none other than Bhutan, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Wales and White Ruthenia. But of course, it doesn't stop there, with a whole host of literally hundreds of other additions, improvements and fixes, as detailed in the full patch notes enclosed.

• Kaiserreich now has its own implementation of Player-Led Peace Conferences and the State Transfer Tool. These can be activated via game rules, though if you are in debug mode then the State Transfer Tool is available by default. Note that, if you decide to use the PLPC or STT mods anyhow, it won’t break anything - you just won’t get our updates to them.
• Japan’s intervention in China has been modified to be more in line with the vanilla version.
• Japan’s "Fading Sun" peace mechanic with China has now been changed. Russia and China are dealt with by separate scripted peace events, and Japan has different levels of surrender ranging from minor defeat to total capitulation - they no longer lose their faction and all ability to declare war the moment Korea and Manchuria are occupied.
• Total download size of the base mod has been reduced by ~50%, thanks to standardising most gfx to .png format.
• The remainder of the former rework to Kaiserreich’s naval system has now been removed, bringing the naval system fully in line with vanilla's, save for names.

What I watched this week:

Vamps (2012) - 3 stars. I watched this because I knew Amy Heckerling directed this. She's most famous for directing Clueless and reunited with Alicia Silverstone for this movie. There's also a bunch of other actors I love like Kristen Ritter, Dan Stevens, Sigourney Weaver, Wallace Shawn, and Richard Lewis. The list goes on. It was cute but the boomer "I'm too old for this technology business" humor coming from Alicia Silverstone's character was a bit cringey.

Humoresque (1946) - 3 stars. Really high standard for a movie about a classical violinist. Being in a relationship with a violinist means that I'm always hearing about how fake it looks in movies and they did an incredible job here. I knew that the movie was building toward Joan Crawford's character's >!suicide!< but I didn't have to like it. The >!death!< scene was really beautifully filmed though.

Du Barry Was a Lady (1943) - 2.5 stars story with 5 star costumes. More a musical comedy than romance but hey, I'm counting it because it revolves around a love triangle between Red Skelton, Lucille Ball, and Gene Kelly. Like I said in the Carmen Jones thread, Otto Preminger is wrong about film musicals. They're awesome and fun to look at even when nothing it going on. Lucille Ball's costumes were everything.

Thieves Like Us (1974) - Did Not Pay Attention. I feel like DNPA should be an alternative to DNF. This is a remake of They Live By Night. I love Keith Carradine and the snatches of scenes I saw between him and Shelley Duvall had great chemistry but I feel like it's not fair to rate it because I cannot tell you what happened through more than half of this movie. I would rate the New Order song "Thieves Like Us" 5/5 though.

Romance adjacent -

The Amazing Race - 3.5 stars. My partner and I have been watching TAR in order from the beginning and it has offered both heartwarming and extremely cringey couple interactions. The race is designed to push people to their emotional breaking points so there is a lot of fighting. But I'm really touched by the couples that manage to support each other through some crazy challenges. Seasons I've watched so far that I would recommend

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

I said "hey look, an escaPEA"

No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
