How would a Bangsamoro country that is fully independent from the Philippine government be really like in terms of security, culture, economy, safety, development, etc.? How would their relations from other countries be like?
I am a Filipino British but this conflict has been getting my attention recently. There is actually a violent war between the Bangsamoro Muslims and the secular Philippine government. The reason why the Bangsamoros are rebelling against the Philippine government is because they want a fully independent Islamic country. 4 years ago, the Philippine government just annihilated the Bangsamoro Maute terrorists in Marawi city, Mindanao.
As for those who know the full picture of the Mindanao Bangsamoro Muslim conflict, what do you think of this conflict and what do you think should be done in order to end this once and for all?
For those who don't know the Bangsamoros, the Bangsamoros are an ethnic group of tribal Muslim warriors who repeatedly resisted assimilation to mainstream Filipino culture. They are like the Afghan Talibans. They have been violently rebelling against the Philippines for a long time and are still rebelling today. They are not even Filipinos ethnically and culturally. They just happen to be a part of the Philippines.
The first Bangsamoro rebel group is the MNLF but other groups split from it such as the notorious Abu Sayyaf. As for the Abu Sayyaf, the Abu Sayyaf is an extremist jihadist terrorist group known for piracy, banditry, bombings, kidnappings for ransom, and forced marriages. The favorite targets of the Abu Sayyaf when it comes to kidnap for ransom are foreigners such as Europeans and Americans. If the victims aren't ransomed then they are beheaded.
Anyways, what do you think of this?
Did the rido culture of the Bangsamoros(such as the Tausugs, the Maranaos, and the Maguindanaoans) originate from Islam? I am wondering because I think I think I read a bit in the Quran where it is an obligation of a Muslim to retaliate against a murderer except if the murderer's victim is a non-Muslim. It's also worth noting that Muslim Palestinians in the Middle East frequently have blood feuds against each other.
So what do you think of this? Did the rido culture of the Bangsamoros really originate from Islam itself?
How exactly is Rodrigo Duterte's performance regarding the fight against Bangsamoro Muslim terrorists in Mindanao? By the way, I am not taking sides in any Philippine politics. I am not a Duterte fan.
As the 2025 Philippine mid-term election poll had come to an end, I’ll be posting another 2025 election poll, but this time, it will be focused on Bangsamoro, the home of the Muslims in the Philippines. This will be the first time that a regional election will be posted in this universe. THE FIRST BANGSAMORO PARLIAMENT AND 2025 BANGSAMORO PARLIAMENT ELECTION
When the 2022 Philippine elections have been postponed from May to November 2022 due to the late removal of former President Rodrigo Duterte in early 2022, COMELEC had announced that they will move the first Bangsamoro Parliament election from 2022 to 2025 with two probable reasons: (1) due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines and (2) extend the Bangsamoro Transition Authority Parliament until early 2025. COMELEC would announce that the 2025 Bangsamoro Parliament election on May 12, 2025, the same day that the 2025 Philippine mid-term election takes place.
When President Sarah Duterte-Carpio entered the office, she had instructed the BTA to continue their transitional government, so that they will finish what’s missing for them especially that they need to move forward before the first Parliament election, which will take place in 2025. In 2024, MILF and UBJP have solidified their agreement to form a coalition known as Peace and Unity for Bangsamoro to participate in the upcoming election. Meanwhile, Hugpong ng Pagbabago went divided in their plans for that regional election as they fielded two parties: (1) Hugpong para sa Bangsamoro (HPB): social democracy, reformism, progressivism; (2) Bangsamoro National People’s Party (BNPP): centrism, conservatism. The Coalition for Change, led by the remaining PDP-Laban members, had decided to form their coalition with some Lakas defectors to form the Bangsamoro Alliance for Change, an Islamic populist party that previously supported former President Rodrigo Duterte. Then, right before the end of the 2024, a few officials in Sulu have announced that they decided to form the Bangsamoro Independence Party (BIP) as they seek for the independence of Bangsamoro from the Philippines.
