The divisions between the Catholics and the Muslims could not have been more worse. Decades of tension finally boiled over, causing an overfill of violence and tension in Mindanao. At the forefront of this mess lies the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, who have recently rescinded their beliefs for an autonomous status, instead once again vying for full independence from the Philippines after rounds of failed talks.
For several years the issue of the Moro people has been ignored. Now, however their voices will finally be heard once more as a mass recruitment drive and increased radicalization of the Bangsamoro people. Using methods already proven by other radical groups, such as instant messaging and social media, they gather a small but loyal following for their cause. What's more is the continual marginalization of the Bangsamoro people by soldiers stationed there cause even moderates to defect unto the radical full separatist banner.
The results of these efforts may force the Philippine government to react to these growing threats. If successful, the stability of the Philippines could drastically nosedive, and cause need for massive reform. However if this fails, the Moro people will drastically weaken and bring attention unto themselves by the government, almost ensuring their continual oppression.
