A list of puns related to "Backwater (river)"
Hey Everyone,
Where do you get information on fishing backwater river bass? I've gone to a lot of the usual places on YouTube (Tactical Bassin, Debo, Wired2Fish) and most of that stuff is big lakes, ponds or bank fishing.
I'm new and going to be fishing the Mississippi back waters in a kayak. My waters won't be as deep and I won't have the same features on the bottom that many lakes have. I'm afraid the seasonal bass pattern will be different. How is it going to be different? What am I looking for? What resources are out there to help me learn that I've missed.
Here's where I will be fishing:
Have you ever been through a decaying city? You can usually find them off of interstate exits where no cars ever seem to turn, or between flourishing places. No one ever wants to stop in them, but sometimes you run out of gas and theirs is the only station for miles or you canβt keep your eyes open and there is that lone, flickering motel sign in the distance. They are forgotten pockets of civilization that time skipped over at some point. The number of closed businesses far outweigh those that are open, leaving husks with broken windows and sun bleached signs. Weeds grow tall in the cracks of parking lot asphalt and the most common ambiance is that of buzzing insects. Even the air is stagnant.
Pure desolation.
That is the kind of place I grew up and where I still live. I wonβt tell you the name or exactly where to find it because this is not a city anyone should come to in hopes of exploring or staying. Letβs just call it βBackwaterβ. If I could leave, I would, but Backwater has a way of holding on to people. I canβt even go out to find the kind of doctor I need and I donβt trust the people here - or should I say that nobody trusts anyone here? - and have to resort to researching online and hoping for the best in most cases...At least where my mind is concerned. I read that journaling or talking about bad memories is a good type of therapy but I wouldnβt dare do that around here with the way everyone knows everyone else's business despite no one really speaking to each other. So, this is the next best thing. I canβt promise I will go in order. Iβll start with one of my earliest memories involving Backwater.
My mom and I moved here in the summer after my eighth birthday. We lost my dad the year before that and couldnβt afford where we were staying any more. Iβm not sure how she found out about Backwater and she never would tell me no matter how often I asked over the years though I have my suspicions. While she worked two jobs, I was left to my own devices so I spent a lot of time roaming. That was how I met the other latchkey kids. They were standard Backwater fare of unwashed and scraggly. Maybe their eyes were a little sharper and voices a little softer but they were not too different from the children I played with in my last town. We got along quickly and they introduced me to the only park the city had to offer.
Folks here called it βWorrystone Parkβ for the stacks of smooth river rocks that could be found everywhere on the property. Peop
