A list of puns related to "Ati people"
Sub o forma sau alta , toti am luat tepe , povestiti poate invatam din greselile altora.
I have read about many people having some big difficulties with the ATI drivers. Settings not saving, compatability issues, installation breaking compiz.
I was wondering if anyone can explain what is going on. I am on the open source drivers, and tried installing the proprietary and came across some of these problems right away.
Thanks.
edit FYI i have ATI Radeon HD 4650
Ubuntu 12.04, Radeon HD 4200, proprietary driver v8.960-0ubuntu1.1
In light of their recent driver update, I was disappointed with the news that my card would not see updates from ATI. Today, however, I saw that there were updates for fglrx-amdcccle-updates and fglrx-updates, and happily installed them thinking I might finally see some improvements.
Wrong.
Upon rebooting, I had lost all 3D compositing. Unity kept kicking me down to Unity 2D, Gnome would drop into Gnome Classic, and the same with Cinnamon. Luckily I was able to force downgrade via Synaptic from v9.000-0ubuntu0.1 back to v8.960-0ubuntu1.1, rebooted, and everything is back to normal.
I figured it was worth warning others about it.
Hey /r/darksouls/ I'd been having low fps issues since I bought the game. I'm running Durante's Fix of course. Everything was kept vanilla besides internal resolution at 1600x900 and DOF set to 600.
First of all, here are my relevant specs:
The game has had severe FPS drops in Blighttown, Ariamis, the Demon Ruins, and other areas with tons of geometry.
When people came out and said AMD drivers are to blame, I tried something out. I had recently bought the 6870 to replace my 4890. Both of these cards should demolish the game, no problem, but I had issues with both the 4890 and the 6870 when I eventually swapped it in. I tried different DOFs including leaving it at default. I tried forcing the video card into the high performance voltage to see if anything improved. Pretty much no gain at all. The perceived improvement could've been entirely in my head.
This weekend I had just happened to discover how easy it is to overclock my CPU. All I needed to do was getting a higher quality CPU heatsink and fan, install it and increase my CPU's clockspeed. I tried overclocking without a cooler two days ago and managed to raise my clock from 2.67 GHz to about 3.02 Ghz before reaching more dangerous temperatures. (By the way, I'm tracking temperature using an application called Core Temp. The installer tries to install a Yahoo Toolbar with the program, so just uncheck it in the install before it does. There are other programs you can use too. I think there's one called Real Temp and another called Speedfan that should have CPU temperature, but I'm not certain.)
Yesterday, I bought the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo heatsink and fan for $35 at Fry's. I could've probably just bought the Hyper 212+ which is just a minor step down from the Evo for only $20 on Newegg, but I was anxious to see what I could do.
This was the first time I opened the machine and completely took it apart since I built it 2.5 years ago, but wasn't as big as a headache as I was expecting. I didn't remember where all of the power cables went when I had to put it back together, but that's my own fault. I used the power supply and motherboard manuals and had a little memory of where things went. Everything hooked up correctly on the first try, luckily. I'd label them as I unp

I did an AMA when Josh first was charged, but thought now that a lot of new snarkers are on this sub that people might have some questions about what it was like to work with him and what the IBLP is like.
Long story short: I grew up in East Texas near the Big Sandy campus and was very familiar with IBLP. My family did everything but join ATI (went to seminars etc). Fast forward a few years and I worked with Josh in DC. He came to my office in 2013 to ask me to be his assistant and travel with him. I turned him down due to planning to leave for a new job in a couple of weeks. Years later, Iβve long left that life behind.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
I've been told that a Shard's intent is interpreted by its vessel so the same Shard could have different ideals and intentions depending on the personality of its host.
But is that really the case or are some Shards destined to be evil regardless of their host? Hoid said Ruin's host Ati was a kind and generous man and yet the Shard's intent still turned him into a monster.
So does that mean even if Odium would have had a compassionate and joyful host they would have still turned evil? If the Shard is about passion taken to its peak then I can't see how it could not end bad. Passion itself is not a bad thing, I believe that if you want to achieve anything grand and beautiful you need a fair amount of passion, but too much unrestrained ardour inevitably leads to mayhem regardless of the kind of emotion. Too much of anything is bad.
Former fundie here. Was raised an Orthodox Jew. If the kids had any issues, youβd never find out. That shit gets swept under the rug faster than you could say βblessedβ.
None of the other families had βproblem kidsβ like me (I later found out they did but didnβt tell anyone of course), which made my self esteem issues even worse. The reason they hide it is twofold:
first, they believe God punished people with problematic children, so if they admit they have problematic children, then they must be no better than anyone else, or not faithful enough, because God wouldnβt have punished them if theyβd glorified Him enough. They want to give off the idea that serving God will cause God to protect them, otherwise what would be the point of going through the immense hassle of being fundie? So they have to give off the image of the perfect family in order to attract people to the cult. Or to justify their insularity and weird customs to the outside world.
Future marriage prospects. I donβt know if this is the case with Christian fundies but in Orthodox Judaism, matchmaking, or shidduchim, is the ultimate measure of a familyβs success at raising children. If theyβre seen as a good family, without βproblems,β the kids get matched with people of βhigher caliber.β Itβs almost as if an unsaid points system exists.
The marriage conundrum
Family is wealthy? Family is supporting sons and sons in law learning Torah full time (a sign of wealth and piety)? Kid get into the right seminaries and yeshivas (which wonβt accept kids with visible disabilities)? βGood familyβ with well-behaved kids? They gain points.
Kids have a disability or are overweight? Parents got divorced? Known molestation in the family? Parent(s) are converts or became religious as adults (their secular influence earlier on leads them to have unacceptable worldly influence on their kids that they could tarnish their spouseβs kedusha (holiness) with)? Kids get expelled or suspended from their closed-minded schools for asking the βwrongβ questions or showing any critical thinking (means parents didnβt do a good enough job or protecting them or arenβt strong enough believers themselves? Minus points.
Matchmakers are trying to get the kids to marry the lowest point value theyβd accept, while parents are pushing for their kids to marry the highest point value they can βscoreβ. The push-pull nature of shidduchim and the ultimate result not only shows other families how βsuccessfu
... keep reading on reddit β‘As the Josh Duggar trial begins today I expect many people will begin to ask questions regarding his wife Anna. Why has Anna continued to defend her husband? Why did she marry him with the prior knowledge that he had molested 5 minor girls as a teenager? Why has she continued to have children with him, even after he admitted to being unfaithful to her in 2015?
As someone who grew up in a similar environment as the Duggars, here are my thoughtsβ¦
The Duggar family is the poster family for a homeschool, patriarchal, fundamentalist cult called the Advanced Training Institute (ATI) created by a man named Bill Gothard (BG). My family was involved with ATI during the same years that the Duggar family was and I would occasionally hang out with the Duggar daughters after attending the same group sessions at the annual conference.
I made my escape from ATI in 2015 after I came to the realization that I had been sexually groomed by BG as a minor. I soon joined a lawsuit against BG with 18 fellow victims with similar allegations and to this day I have been shunned by the community due to speaking out.
Let me explain some of the very specific teachings of ATI in hopes that you will understand exactly why the Duggar family handled Joshβs abuse they way they did, and perhaps why Anna has continued to stay by his side and continued to birth his children.
The word βabuseβ does not exist in ATI. When I came forward that I had been sexually molested as a child by my own father, it was not called abuse within my ATI circles, it was called being βinappropriateβ. ATI followers are told that the way secular, professional therapists and the way the government handles abuse is bad. They are taught that sexual abuse is, more than anything, a moral issue (vs a crime), and therefore it must be handled within the church. Licensed professional therapist are considered dangerous, and so you are only allowed to seek Christian counseling. This is why when Josh first told his parents as a teenager that he was molesting his younger sisters, he was sent away to an ATI camp as therapy. Abuse is always dealt within the system.
ATI followers are taught to be thankful for abuse. I was told by Bill Gothard himself when he found out that I had been molested by my father that I needed to write my father letter THANKING him for molesting me, because it had made me spiritually stronger. Emotional, sexual, physical abuse are considered badges of honor within the system. There is no such t
I was reading an article in the guardian written by an IBLP survivor and they were talking about what it was like to break away from the idea of a βideal holyβ woman (married and pregnant and stay at home) and they mentioned how they would sneak to the library to read things in fashion and when she turned it 18 she went to apply to university for fashion school.
she mentioned offhandedly the web blocker many ATI families were encouraged to use blocked people from applying to universities
Itβs not surprising but god thatβs truly terrifying in my opinion. They are blocking you from what could honestly be your ticket out of the cult and the fact they felt the need to BLOCK it all together is just-
Do your worst!
I remember in the early specials that Jill all ways expressed an interest in nursing. Obviously this career path was impossible in her family. However now she is in a much better place with Derrick and their sons.
Does anyone know if she has every said anything about nursing in the past few years?
Is this even still an interest of hers?
Do you guys think she will ever pursue a career outside the home?
Iβm new here, so Iβm curious.
They were cooked in Greece.
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes
Punchline !
Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat
Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?
Two muffins are in an oven, one muffin looks at the other and says "is it just me, or is it hot in here?"
Then the other muffin says "AHH, TALKING MUFFIN!!!"
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
