I just finished Code Geass and I need someone to talk to about it.

First things first, I got into Code Geass after the Attack on Titan ending: >!When everyone said AoT got the "Lelouch ending" I wanted to understand exactly what that meant !<so I cam here. I walked into Code Geass (CG) knowing Lelouch would die as the villain, but I had no idea how.

It's also worth mentioning that I watched the English Dub, as that is what I prefer and I'm unsure if watching it in the English Sub would have increased my enjoyment of it.

Also also, I haven't read the manga, so please keep that in mind.

After watching CG, I'm really glad I did, but I have a lot of questions and things to say. Before any of that, however, I just want to say it's a great show and I enjoyed it immensely.

Favorite Characters:

  1. Lord Lloyd Asplund: I fricking love this guy. He is the perfect blend of funny, charming, witty, eccentric, and extremely competent that I like in my mad scientist characters. His blue hair is also really fun.
  2. Lord Jeremiah "Orange Boy" Gottwald: Besides being fricking hilarious, I admire this man's dedication to the cause and he just. doesn't. die. I thought that we would eventually see him on Zero's side, but I had no idea how. LOYALTY!

Least favorite character:

  1. Anya Alstreim, Knight of Six: She just seems to...cliche as that quiet anime girl absorbed in technology. Part of me just feels it has been done to death and I'm at least a little bit glad that it wasn't just a gimmick but actually relevant to the plot.

Pros:

  1. The Knightmares are actually really, really cool. Not only that, but it was actually a whole four episodes in before I realized "wait a minute, I'm watching a gundam anime!"
  2. Lelouch is one of the best-written protagonists I've seen in a while. He seems a bit archetypical from 2021, but that's not a bad thing.
  3. The plot was never too predictable. I didn't expect Mao, C.C.'s backstory as it was, the deaths of Shirley Fenette or Euphemia li Britannia, or the (very blatantly named) Damocles.
  4. The character design and voice acting is fantastic. While possibly interpreted as a negative, I had to pause a few times to look up where I recognized one voice or another. Despite that, I greatly enjoyed listening to Spike Spencer (voice of Shinji Ikari from Evangelion) as Rolo Lamperouge and Laura Bailey (voice of Lust from FMA and Serana from Skyrim) as Nagisa Chiba.
  5. The worldbuilding pays attention to the little details. I really enjoyed refrain as a lore concept, how sakuradite wasn't just a

(Warning: Morbid dad joke) True Story -- My family were planning my mum's funeral. We always try to keep things light and try to stay positive, just as Mum would have it...

The funeral director was asking us what we think Mum should wear in her casket.

Mum always loved to wear sarongs (fabric wraps that go around the torso and drape downward a bit like a long skirt would), so my uncle suggested that she wear a sarong in there.

The funeral director looked a bit confused, as did some of our family members, to which my uncle added:

"What's sarong with that?"

I started laughing like an idiot. He was proud of it too. The funeral director was rather shocked. We assured her, and our more proper relatives, that Mum would've absolutely loved the joke (which is very true).

His delivery was perfect. I'll never forget the risk he took. We sometimes recall the moment as a way help cushion the blows of the grieving process.

--Edit-- I appreciate the condolences. I'm doing well and the worst is behind me and my family. But thanks :)

--Edit-- Massive thanks for all the awards and kind words. And the puns! Love 'em.

Ser Arthur Oakheart, Lord of Old Oak & Knight of the Order of the Green Hand

####Meta Information

Character Name: Ser Arthur Oakheart

Starting Title(s): Lord of Old Oak, Knight of the Order of the Green Hand

Age: 21

Physical Description: Long chestnut locks reaching for broad shoulders, joyful deep brown eyes sitting above high cheekbones, a neatly trimmed beard lining a square jaw, and thin lips oft seen wielding a gentle smile, with a lean frame lacking in blemishing marks. The knight’s features are immediately appealing, and he stands tall and full of vigor, solemn yet benign - drawing in and captivating his peers.

Arthur, some might say, is crafted in the image of heroes from ages past, for his true beauty lies not in his striking gifts, but in the way he wields his virtues. His prowess with the sword and gallantry in the face of peril are never woven into boastful anecdotes to regale about; only through deed does he declare them.

Attribute: Strong

Skill Points: 20

  • Charisma: Leadership

  • Martial: Skirmishing

  • Combat: Weapon Proficiency (Swords; Polearms), Footwork

####Biography

An Heir is Born

The first son to bless the matrimony of Owen Oakheart, the Lord of Old Oak, and his wife, Daeryssa Crane, Arthur was the pride of his House from the moment of his birth, and he would learn at an early age what it meant to be the heir of the richest legacy of chivalry in the Reach.

He was educated under the strict oversight of his father in history, calligraphy, swordsmanship, and manners, and he didn't wait to demonstrate where his talents lay. At every given opportunity, Arthur made for the training yard to spar with squires, stableboys, and a few guardsmen, but not with Old Oak’s household knights, for his father did not allow a green boy to challenge those anointed in the name of the Seven.

That was his first lesson; before growing up to lead, he had to learn his place amongst his betters. Lord Owen wished for his heir to become a Knight of the Green Hand one day, as many Oakhearts before had been, and there was no man better than the order’s senior member, Ser Gyles Merryweather, to groom young Arthur for the role.

When the time came, he was sent
