The Red Order-Development Diary III: Birthplace of the Revolution

Hello, world! I am Jon or Comrade Jon to many of you and I am the Co-Leader of the USSR and Weimar Pact for The Red Order: First Days of Eurasia. It is with great honor and privilege to introduce you all to the Dev Diary of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on the one hundred and the fourth anniversary of the birth of the Revolution! In this Dev Diary, the lore for the USSR, the Weimar Pact will be provided. As well as some small glimpses of what we have to look forward to in the 10 years of gameplay for the mod!

Before we begin, I would be doing my colleagues, comrades, and compatriots a massive disservice by not immediately thanking them for the opportunities that have given to me, from the USSR lead, Bruhingrad91, to the Redtide Lead, Tukh Stan#0001, to Community Lead Harold Ink and to every single person on the dev team. It is an absolute privilege to be able to get into Discord every day and work with all of you. We have built an amazing community together and I look forward to the day when we can all celebrate the release of this mod! The entirety of this Dev Diary is the work from the collaboration of The Red Order Dev Team and I could not have done it without the work of them and the countless others who have come before me.

Background Lore and the Hungarian Revolution:

The proletariat’s will for freedom did not only occur in Russia during the First World War but also in the Hungarian Soviet Republic. The second Communist state in the world, after Russia, was proclaimed by Bela Kún in 1919 and emerged with a vast amount of support from the workers of Budapest and other industrial centers. The rural regions of the country, however, were vehemently against the new government. In an effort to unify his country around a common cause and to secure the support of the rural people, Kún proclaimed his support for Greater Hungary and attacked north into Slovakia.

Yet, not all had seen the enlightenment of Marxism. In the south, a counter-revolt led by Admiral Miklós Horthy found its footing. French arms and money trickled into the hands of the Whites all the while having no formal support... Despite this, the Hungarian Red Army managed to liberate large swathes of Slovakia and push the White Forces back. Then, Romania attacked; striking into Transylvania with their experienced army, they managed to overrun the Hungarian outposts in the region. As

There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Cruiser Mikhail Kutuzov

Scope:

It's v 3.9 on the second half of the Origin of Wisdom Campaign for Mainz, and surprise, there are now Pan-Asian Destroyers, literally, everywhere. Kutuzov brings a continuation of the current cruiser focused reviews. Another older foundational cruiser, Kutuzov sparked what would now be considered the ranged HE and Fire spam meta we see today. Arguably so, Kutuzov resists the corrosion of power creep, holding onto earnest rankings. Kutuzov is a GOOD ship, with a MODERATE skill floor and a very HIGH skill ceiling.

History:

Mikhail Kutuzov is a Sverdlov Class Cruiser and was laid down by the Black Sea Shipyard in Nikolayev February 1951. Soviet designation Project 68bis were the last conventional gun cruisers built by the Soviet Navy. The design focused on other Soviet, German and Italian designs, improving them for better sea keeping, which would allow them to run at higher speeds through the rough waters of the North Atlantic. The ship was commissioned into the Soviet Navy after completing sea trials in January 1955.

The design incorporated twelve x 152mm/57 B-38 rifles mounted into four-triple Mark 5bis turrets in a conventional A-B and X-Y super-firing fore and aft with twelve x 100mm/56 mod 1934 in six-paired S-M-5-1 mounts at 3 a side. The design also bolstered sixteen pairs of 37mm AA mounts and ten 533mm torpedo tubes mounted in two-quintuple turrets. The ship also incorporated a wide array of radar surveillance capabilities.

The design was heralded to be vastly superior to rivalling navies gun cruisers; while projecting Soviet might, and protection along her vast coastlines and shipping routes, including the Soviet Black, Baltic, Arctic Mediterranean Sea interests.

However, the design was strategically obsolete by the time of her completion due to the introduction of Guided Missile Cruisers earlier in the same decade, and advances in Carrier Based Naval Aviation.

Mikhail Kutuzov is still afloat today, opening to the public July 2002 in Novorossiysk as a Museum Ship. She was made a branch of the Central Naval Museum October 2012.

I’m coming over from Ireland in about 3 weeks and I’m absolutely buzzing. I’ve done a bit of research, found out Latvians are typically quite introverted, enjoy their space and stuff like that.

I’m a big sports guy so I was thinking about going to a Dinamo Riga game because there’s one on while I’m there. Is the arena easily accessible?

Also is their much of a mid week night life? Or any opportunities to meet people? Anything would be really cool.

Really, really excited to visit. I’ll absolutely learn as much language as I can to make myself comfortable, but absolutely worst case what is the English speaking like? I will put an effort into learning, but I’m just curious.
