These are called areca nuts, eaten extensively by people of North-eastern India and other parts too, along with a leaf called betel leaf. Please upvote so I can get karma to post more in some subs!

Can someone help me identify this bug I found vacationing on the underside of my Areca palm, located in India. Its about an inch long and half an inch wide and I don't see any antenna or eyes. I believe it has a mouth latched onto the palm frond and mostly enjoying the sap.

Areca nut (Betel nut) use for beginners?
I bought a bag of Taiwanese young Areca nuts and lime paste. I have tried a few methods and get a lot of mixed information. I can't seem to get them to turn red even after a long while chewing. Did I get the wrong thing, am I stupid (I am), can I please get some assistance?
I am looking to try this because I honestly can't get enough energy to do what I need to do.

Anyone ever smoked/used cannabis and used betel (areca) nut at the same time?
Anyone ever smoked/used cannabis and used betel (areca) nut at the same time?
I ask this because I live in the Philippines and, while iβve never tried betel nut (yet), I am curious if someone here has done so along with cannabis. I read that betel nut makes you spit/salivate like crazy, the exact opposite affect that cannabis gives. Would they counteract each other in that regard? Do they mix well? Iβm curious to see if anyone has done this combo together and have anything to say about it.

I've acquired some Areca nut I plan to grind in a coffee mill and try for my dry mouth. I want to use a tiny bit (say 1/16 of a tsp) between my cheek and gum like dip before I go to bed. Thoughts?
