I'm taking APSI right now to prep for teaching APUSH in the fall and our instructor has made a point of saying that he does not teach content and only skills for his classes. His students read content on their own and class time is spent on writing practice and small group work. Is this the accepted standard across most APUSH teachers or is that more a personal preference? Note that I'm not criticizing him in anyway, I just want to clarify.

Anybody got pictures of an Apsis Coat? Can't find much info online but to my knowledge it's cut identical to a Monitor, but just without the Goretex? I've been thoroughly enjoying rediscovering DayZ in recent weeks, largely thanks to hardcore Namalsk servers and the variety of interactions* one experiences as a result of the relatively small size of the map/starting zone and the challenging environmental PvE this style of server fosters.
My zeal for this style has been such that I've even managed to persuade half a dozen people who swore they'd never play DayZ again to come back - and on the whole, the response has been encouraging.
The APSI though (and to a lesser extent NVGs) have been a point of contention, however: Whilst I can appreciate the need for powerful end-game counters to such mechanics in the game, I'm finding myself keen to try and play a modified version where the black of night and the EVR are insurmountable obstacles.
This leads me to the title of my post: Does anyone know of any servers that have removed these items from the loot table? If not, would anyone else be interested in playing on a server that is configured this way?
*So, so many organic groups and betrayals... I love it!

Interested in copping an Apsis on a decent sale: I love the fishtail look, and was thinking I could use something that trades a bit of waterproofing for stretch and comfort (have Navier AR as a shell). Any thought from previous owners before I pull the trigger?
If I want to set an apsis to given altitude, I calculate the dV required to get there within the loop and use that to set the the acceleration, so it decreases the throttle as I get close and doesn't overshoot.
If I've set up an intercept to the Mun, is there a way to calculate the dV required at the ships position within the Kerbin SOI in order to decrease the periapsis over the Mun to a given value? In the past I've always used had different variables for different bodies for acceleration of that final adjustment, but I'd like to tidy it up. Only way I can think at the moment is use a proportional feedback loop to measure the impact of the last step's acceleration on the periapsis altitude and adjust accordingly, but there must be a proper way to do it.

2019 Retrospective
This wasn't always the description I had in mind for AO. In fact I didn't know what to make of the project for a long time. 2019 gave me a better idea as to what direction I really wanted to go in as I turned my attention away from netcode and back toward features.
Getting to see the game in MassivelyOP was a real kick in the ass. I love that site. Although many of the same problems that plagued the project then remain today, it hasn't been all bad.
Last year ended with the release of V3, introducing sandbox mechanics to a stale and stagnant off-ship/planetside feature set. This coupled with some additional tightening of the netcode as well as success with blockchain integration on the back-end and it was a technical win overall.
I even wrote the Voyagers Handbook.
2020 Outlook
Not having the ability to constantly run a server is the biggest factor effecting ongoing development. This is simply due to lack of funds. An ascii mmo is also a tough niche and so driving people to the game is going to be a bit harder.
In addition, some newer features like terraforming (sandbox) are showing more potential outside the scope of this project. Which could lead to an extended hiatus while I explore other more viable options. Although in the meantime I do have two patches planned, V4 being a big UI update and the bug fixing of a long-time issue marking the end of work being done on the single-player campaign.

This will be my second year teaching AP Biology, but at an entirely different school with an entirely different environment. At my last school, half the students had never taken Biology before, and students were being added into the class as late as February, the max enrollment being 34. I was never able to attend a collegeboard AP Bio workshop (there was one but it got cancelled at the last minute) and learned on the job. With all of that, and COVID, I still think I did a pretty good job and my kids did alright in the end and gave me incredibly positive feedback as a teacher. At my new school, I'm teaching AP Bio and APES. I'm expected to only have ~3 students in AP Bio, all of which must have received an A in Biology beforehand. My school offered to pay for me to attend two APSIs, one for APES and one for AP Bio. I enrolled in one for APES but to do both would mean two consecutive weeks of online APSIs. I can't tell if I should grab the opportunity or if I would be putting myself through all that zoom conferencing that wouldn't really be helpful. So I want to know

Since the Apsis replaced the Monitor LT for SS20 I was hoping to get some feedback from the sub around the change in material for the Apsis. Has anyone tried on the Apsis and can compare it to the Monitor LT in terms of drape, cut etc?
What is interesting for me is the change in material composition and construction from the 100% plain Nylon weave (Monitor LT) to the 87% Nylon and 13% Elastane double weave (Apsis) which could add more functionality to the jacket for active activities. I unfortunately don't have a stockist in my area so I cannot check it out in-person.
I have a Nemis as well, so I can extrapolate out a bit what this new material might be like, but looking for opinions!
The Monitor LT in black is on LastHunt again and I am sure with enough patience I can snag one at my desired price point but I am not sure if this is the right coat now vs the Apsis without seeing how the material change affects the jacket overall.
