Want to know how early we still are? Want some premium hopium? The ENTIRE cryptocurrency market currently still has a smaller market cap than Apple Corp.

Per Coinmarketcap and Coingecko, the ENTIRE crypto market, including bitcoin, ethereum, and everyone else on the way down has a total combined market cap of approximately $2.2 Trillion. The Apple Corporation is currently sitting at a market cap value of $2.358 Trillion. Think of what crypto still has ahead of it. Think of all the different use cases crypto has in the coming decades. The technological industry, financial industry, political, educational, medical, and practically every other aspect of society is going to be impacted by crypto one way or another. Apple themselves will be utilizing crypto in a variety of ways. The banks are lining up to become a part of the movement. We are still VERY early in this budding industry. And there are countless ways crypto will impact society that we haven't even thought of.

The ENTIRE cryptocurrency market still has a smaller market cap than Apple Corp.

For everyone wondering if they missed the train in crypto or asking themselves if they are still early:

Appleβ€˜s market cap is currently at $ 2.36 T, while the whole crypto space combined, with all the over 12.500 coins, tokens and stablecoins currently listed on exchanges is at $ 2.30 T.

All altcoins combined are at $ 1.2 T, about the half of the whole crypto market cap. So all altcoins combined (including stablecoins) are only about the half of Appleβ€˜s market cap, same as Bitcoin.

A single technology company still has a higher market cap than the whole crypto space combined. How early does this sound?

Yes this is hopium, use it responsibly.

The Thinkpad designers and engineers should be cordoned off in a sealed room with no access news, pictures, or specifications of the products of Apple Computers.

Macbook imitation is by far the worst thing to ever happen to the Thinkpad line. Remember this advert? Remember when we made fun of these assholes and their fucking daisy-chained dongles? Now we must beg at the feet of Lenovo for more than one combined USB port responsible for handling all charging and I/O, and soldered to the board of course. The Thinkpad goes chiclet, flattens the keys, and sheds half the keyboard for no reason in imitation of the macbook. The touchpad grows and grows to envelop more of the palmrest and keyboard space. They go 16:9 for consoomer media consumption bullshit and then deign to return to 16:10 only when (they) start doing it, not because of Lenovo's own design decisions.

Tim Apple should not be dictating what goes on for what used to be the premier no-compromise business laptop that is, unlike the macbook, for people who know what the fuck they're doing and aren't just dicking around.

Apple's constant changes in their computers (software and hardware), along with their lack of care for older applications, is one of the things that hurts Mac Gaming the most

A lot of times, I see people attributing the fact that there are no Mac games to the lack of Vulkan support in macOS, or to a "lack of features" in Metal, but that's not the case most of the time for a simple reason: most cross-platform games use third-party engines like Unreal and Unity, which support Metal already.

That doesn't mean you don't have to test on every platform you want to support, because there may still be system-specific issues, but it does mean you don't need to code directly for Metal or Vulkan.

If that's not the issue, then why we don't have Mac games? Why developers don't release a Mac version of their games? Because of Apple.

In order to explain what I mean, I need to first revisit the history of the Mac computers updates, and how they affected gaming on themselves. I'm not gonna be counting minor things that affected some games, only the major changes, starting from 2006.

- In 2006, Apple released their first Intel computer, moving from PowerPC. A good thing for new games, since new Apple computers had the same architecture as Windows, which means bringing Windows games for Mac had just become much easier; but a bad thing for older games, since they would only work in Intel Macs for as long as Apple kept supporting Rosetta.

- In 2011, Apple released their first Intel-only system with no Rosetta, Mac OS X Lion. Now, PowerPC games could not work no matter what. But hey, developers can develop their games for Intel Macs, so that should have happened a couple of times so far, right? That's correct, although not all of them made Mac builds; some games instead were ported with Wine by using Cider. It was easier for those companies to do that, since they didn't know at the time if the Mac market would pay for itself.

Some big games that stopped working in this transition include: Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, Battlefield 1942, Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2, Fallout, Fallout 2, and Star Wars: Battlefront.

- In 2012, Apple introduces the Gatekeeper in Mac OS X Lion and Mountain Lion. Gatekeeper, quoting Wikipedia, "enforces code signing and verifies downloaded applications before allowing them to run, thereby reducing the likelihood of inadvertently executing malware". That means non-

Yep, it’s definitely an Apple Computer...

Former senior manager was working in publishing. The production people were complaining that they needed Apple computers to work properly with the third party printing company (file compatibility, colour management issues etc etc etc). This is pretty standard in publishing.

The rest of us worked on PCs as they’re cheaper plus knowledge of how to use PC more entrenched in the company/ workforce. The rest of us didn’t really need Apple computers anyway.

Anywho, the IT team didn’t really want to give Apple computers to the production team because reasons but business case for the production team was overwhelming. So the production team get their wish and they get Apple computers.

Senior manager sees shiny new expensive computers and his ego decides he MUST have one too.

He was very senior, so the IT team were forced to give in and they get him an Apple computer too!

It had the Apple logo on it and everything!

But the IT team wiped it and installed the Windows operating system on it 🀣

I don’t think he ever knew; I certainly never told him 🀣🀣🀣

Can my employer track what’s installed on my machine if they sent me a new computer fresh from Apple?

I received a brand new MacBook, unopened from My employer. Had to set everything up from scratch. I have a couple games I like to play on my personal computer. I don’t log in through any VPN. The security settings for my employer are through Google 2-factor and other online platforms.

Would they somehow know if I’ve installed games on my machine? I know they can see browser history but I assume that’s it?
